He just couldn’t stop digging could he? As I wrote here, Air Force Major Jason Watson thought it would be a grand idea to stand on the Capitol steps IN UNIFORM and rail against his Commander in Chief. Now, he’s in jail (pre-trial confinement) and is facing serious UCMJ charges. 

An active-duty Air Force major was ordered into pretrial confinement this week, marking the second time he has been detained since he publicly called for President Donald Trump’s impeachment.

Maj. Jason Watson was placed into pretrial confinement Aug. 18 and is being held at a county facility in Maryland on a military hold, an Air Force spokesperson told CNN. He has not been formally charged, and the spokesperson said the case remains under investigation.

In its statement, the Air Force said Watson was confined based on “probable cause to support allegations of continued misconduct” and that he “is presumed innocent and will be afforded all rights under Rule for Courts-Martial 305 as his pretrial confinement is reviewed.”

It added that Watson’s “personal statements do not reflect the views or policies of the Department of the Air Force.”

Jason Watson can, in his own home or at a BBQ with friends, can certainly make all the personal statements he wants. But once that uniform is on, his personal opinions go right out the window. 

And no, appearing on CNN with Erin Burnett while in a nice dress suit doesn’t negate that he is on active duty. 

Therefore he is, as is every single active duty military member, fully answerable to all and I mean ALL UCMJ regulations. Thus, he’s now in the FO phase of the FA regarding his antics from July 2nd, and his CNN interview last week. 

Maj. Jason Watson faces the following charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, according to the document: three violations of Article 88 for alleged “contemptuous” remarks about Trump, five violations of Article 92 for allegedly disobeying orders and two violations of Article 133 for alleged conduct unbecoming an officer.

The rare Article 88 charges are connected to the Air Force officer’s June interview with the Defenders of our Republic Substack newsletter, his July 1 protest in uniform at the US Capitol, and an August 17 CNN interview.

It can be considered a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice to participate in uniform in any overtly partisan activity, such as a political protest, or to use “contemptuous words” against the president and other high-ranking civilian officials. Many low-level offenses of these rules are resolved informally, but Watson’s violations were unusually high-profile.

Well yes, CNN. Of course the violations are “unusually high-profile.” Why? because he and Al Green, the deluded Congressman from Texas, made sure that all media eyes were on them in July. 

Jason Watson is a guy who has taken everything the Seditious Six has spewed to heart. He is throwing away his career and his military retirement pay for what? Grandstanding on the Capitol steps and nabbing puff piece interviews on CNN?

The same officer who stood on the Capitol steps in full uniform holding an “IMPEACH CONVICT REMOVE” sign and later went on CNN to keep attacking the President, has now been formally charged under the UCMJ.

10 charges total:

– 3 counts of Article 88 (contemptuous words against the President)
– 5 counts of Article 92 (disobeying orders)
– 2 counts of Article 133 (conduct unbecoming an officer)

He decided to turn his uniform into a political prop for an activist group. The military just reminded him that the uniform is not a costume.

Those charges are serious. Yet he went ahead and turned his uniform and service into a prop because Trump and reasons. Evidently he thinks his “sacrifice” will be worth it. Really? I’m sure that’s small comfort to his wife once she fully realizes that anything he has monetarily that WOULD’VE benefitted their children is now gone. 

Brian gets it totally wrong here.

The last part is:

A president who has service members arrested for speaking out against the president, isn’t a president. They are a dictator.

No Brian. President Trump is the Commander In Chief of the military. And when an active duty soldier violates UCMJ rules, there ARE consequences. That’s not dictatorship, that is legal fact. 

UCMJ rules are very clear. Jason Watson knows that. And he did it anyway for clicks, applause, and the hope that other soldiers will do the same. He bought into the Seditious Six crap and the consequences of his actions are solely upon him. 

At the very least he deserves an Other Than Honorable discharge, but if Article 88 charges hold then he’s looking at a full Dishonorable Discharge. 

I’m sure his family appreciates how his sacrifice will affect them.
