Veteran 60 Minutes correspondent, Scott Pelley, was shown the door at CBS yesterday after throwing an epic temper tantrum were he accused CBS News Editor-In-Chief, Bari Weiss, of “murdering the news program”.
Weiss was brought in to the network back in October and has since, attempted to bring more balance to the network by adding Conservative counterpoint. Of course, the left-leaning media hates this.
Scott Pelley made 5-7 million a year for 15 minutes a week on 60 minutes & was fired for throwing tantrum not liking his new boss.

I have been in combat in Afghanistan. I have been in combat in Iraq. I have been in the war zone in Ukraine multiple times, risking my life and the happiness of my family because of my devotion to the broadcast.”-Scott Pelley
Scott’s “been in three wars”. No, Mr. Pelley. You were not “in combat”. You may have been in a combat zone reporting on a war. But to say you were “in combat” is a big, fat lie and, an insult to those who were. You may have been dodging the bullets but you had someone who was paid significantly less than you are covering your sorry, journo a$$. Let’s get this into perspective. Any “journalist” who has the opportunity to be a correspondent in a war zone does not go begrudgingly. They are not handed orders one day, told to pack their bags and kiss their family members because they were hopping on a flight the next morning. Reporting in a combat zone is not just for the story-for portraying humanity in a time of war for these guys. It is for the awards and the accolades. It is for bragging rights. They go so they can say, “I’ve been to war”. It’s a self-aggrandizing, self-serving gesture. So, Scott Pelley’s willingness to go into a combat zone was not this selfless act of valor. It was so he could be a glory whore and trumpet to others about his “fearless” and “selfless” acts of journalism. It is so he could tell others how much better he is then they are and how much he sacrificed. Please.
I've been in combat so many times I lost count. Sure do wish I was getting paid as well as Scott Pelley when he was "in combat" 🤡 https://t.co/AycBL0kGGe

Objective journalism is dead. And Bari Weiss is choking it out, apparently. Take Pelley’s Wake Forest Class of 2025 speech:
To move forward, we debate, not demonize. We discuss, not destroy. But in this moment, This moment, this morning, our sacred rule of law is under attack. Journalism is under attack, universities are under attack, freedom of speech is under attack. An insidious fear is reaching through our school, our businesses, our homes and into our private thoughts. The fear to speak in America.”-Scott Pelley
C’mon, man. Journalism is “under attack” because for years, it hasn’t been journalism. It has been a vast push to one side of the political spectrum. Same with universites and the tenured professors who are paid handsomely to conduct lectures on their wisdom of the world, imparting their knowledge onto young, malleable minds. Some of these young people are incapable of debate and discussion. They are told by their professors that there is no debate or discussion with individuals who have the opposite beliefs or feelings or political leanings. They have been told this by “journalists”, too. They go out into the world like this, expected to be functional human beings but throw down their sippy cups when the world doesn’t look the way they thought it should or when people don’t take their opinions as gospel.
Pelley’s attack on his new bosses certainly did not feel like a “debate” or a “discussion”. To be honest, it sounded a bit like he went scorched earth and demonized his higher-ups. Scott Pelley, a journalist for decades, who’s “been in combat” went full metal TDS and called his bosses “murderers” and “underqualified”.
Sources say Weiss and new 60 Minutes Executive Producer, Nick Bilton, attempted to meet with Pelley before the public blow-out. Pelley refused. The theory here is Pelley wanted to set this up; he wanted to “go off for show“. Peacocking at its finest.
Many have taken to X to call Scott Pelley “stunning and brave”, which is exactly what he wants. Scott Pelley, fighting on the frontlines of true journalism (hand me the barf bag). Is his performative tantrum really doing him any favors? Could it be that perhaps, the time has come where tables have turned and ratings indicate to those in charge that viewers are sick of smug, rich, old, egotistical, entitled, mid-talent white guys?
But while the moral panic over CBS transforming into some Newsmax-OANN Frankenstein continues apace, so too does the network’s critical coverage of the Trump and the right more generally.
And Weiss herself has promoted CBS reporting that would surely make Trump’s blood boil.
Conservative media watchdogs, by the way, still have no shortage of complaints about liberal bias at the network.
For Pelley and his fellow bellyachers, the problem isn’t they’ve been censored, muzzled, or otherwise prevented from reporting the truth. It’s that the culture there is shifting such that they’re no longer free to run roughshod with every partisan frame that they’d like — and that correspondents like Alfonsi are no longer guaranteed cushy titles in perpetuity.”-Isaac Schoor, Mediaite
60 Minutes has lost its reputation as a reliable, unbiased news program for quite some time now. There was the heavily edited version of the Kamala Harris interview. There was the Scott Pelley/Christopher Wray “Orange Man Bad” interview. Admittedly, Bari Weiss had some messes to clean up.
Murdered it? It committed suicide with its endless stream of leftist propaganda and TDS .

So, Scott, pray tell us, who murdered whom? That’s some, uh, (nudge) Truth Worth Telling.

Pelly has officially fledged into the cuckoos nest and made it his permanent home with his definition of murder.
His level of arrogance, contempt and bullying was dealt with very appropriately.
We are over the hump of being silenced thru intimidation by the likes of him.
