Tomorrow, May 19, is Primary Day in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. There are many issues on the ballot: Sheriff, Magistrate, Jailor, Mayor. There is also a Democrat Primary of U.S. Senator to replace the glitching Mitch McConnell. Our concern today is with irascible contrarian Thomas Massie, who represents the Fourth Congressional District. He must be primaried out and NOT just because Donald Trump wants it.

Thomas Massie was raised in the Greater Cincinnati area of Eastern Kentucky. He has degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from MIT. We do not in any way denigrate his brain power. With his late, first wife Rhonda, he was an entrepreneur and business owner. He became a judge and then surrogate for Senator Rand Paul. Apparently, he was also a Kentucky Tea Party favorite. Back then, Massie was a certified dweeb.

In recent years, Massie’s first wife has died (RIP), he has remarried and he gotten laser eye surgery. Now, he looks like an aging lothario with a bad attitude. Massie has become a darling of the Left because he hates Donald Trump as much as the Left does.

One might call that a “Rogues’ Gallery of Trump Derangement Syndrome Patients”. They wouldn’t invite him to the group picnic but these Democrats love him because he bedevils Donald Trump.

Thomas Massie is openly anti-Semitic. This article “Massie Claims His GOP Primary Battle Is About Whether ‘Israel Gets to Buy Seats in Congress’” from Mediaite:

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) spoke to veteran congressional reporter Pablo Manríquez on Friday while leaving to the U.S. Capitol to fly home to campaign in his hotly contested GOP primary.

“Let’s do it! I’m walking to an airplane to rejoin the most expensive congressional race in U.S. history,” Massie said as Manríquez approached him for a Q&A.
“Tell us about that,” Manríquez added.

“Yeah, well, it’s a referendum, really, unfortunately. It’s turned into whether Israel gets to buy seats in Congress. And what they found out is that my seat is really expensive. They probably, when this is over, will have spent $20 million and come up short,” Massie replied.

Manríquez followed up, “Why is Israel the only country that gets to buy elections in the United States?”

“Does any other country get to?” he added.

Massie replied, “You know, I’ve never seen Great Britain, Australia, or even Germany play in our elections here in the United States, but Israel gets so much from the United States. It’s a one-sided relationship. They get us to be their proxies in wars that they want against their enemies. They give us military assistance. They gave us technology. They get our bombs. They get our tax dollars. I think it’s a very one-sided relationship. At least with NATO, we pretend that they would come to our aid someday if we needed it, and even that’s a ruse.”

Massie especially hates AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) and feels a lot of resentment about all of it.

Then, there is the whole Epstein Kerfuffle. From the HuffPost:

President Donald Trump is escalating his attacks against Rep. Thomas Massie, demanding his followers vote out the “worst Congressman in the long and storied history of the Republican Party” in Kentucky’s primary on Tuesday.

“He is an obstructionist and a fool,” Trump posted Monday morning on Truth Social. “Vote him out of office tomorrow, Tuesday. It will be a great day for America!”

Despite being a staunch conservative who has voted in the past on many high-profile issues backed by Trump, Massie has drawn the president’s ire for voting against the so-called Big Beautiful Bill andopposing the U.S.-Israel war against Iran.

Trump and Massie have also publicly sparred over the Justice Department’s failure to fully and swiftly release government files on the president’s longtime friend, the late *** abuser Jeffrey Epstein.

Joined by Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), Massie led the House’s effort to fight the Trump administration’s stonewalling and force the release of the files, which Trump has described as a “Democrat hoax.” The files do not appear to implicate the president in criminal activity; however, his name is repeatedly mentioned in them.

The files actually exculpate Trump and don’t forget Whoopie Goldberg’s name is mentioned several thousand times. Pfft.
