In a late night filing, the DOJ filed a memorandum supporting the pretrial detention of the J6 pipe bomber, Brian Cole Jr. His motive was definitely a little different than what the media wants us to believe it is.
For example: Politico
A Virginia man arrested earlier this month repeatedly cited conspiracy theories about the 2020 election when he confessed to placing pipe bombs outside the headquarters of the Democratic and Republican National Committees on Jan. 6, 2021, according to a Department of Justice filing.
The Justice Department had not previously detailed a motive for the attempted attack or any possible connection between the pipe bombs and the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. But in a Sunday filing — ahead of his detention hearing, scheduled for Tuesday — the DOJ said suspect Brian Cole Jr. told investigators he “was going to a protest in support of [then President] Trump” on the day of the attack.
The New York Times adds their two cents.
The Virginia man arrested this month on charges of placing two pipe bombs in Washington on the night before a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, has given a detailed confession, according to court papers released on Sunday night.
In the public first hint at a motive in the case, the documents said that the man, Brian J. Cole Jr., felt he needed to “speak up” after he began to suspect that the 2020 election, in which President Trump was defeated, had been “tampered with.”
Just looking at that, people aren’t going to read any further. They aren’t going to read about what felonies he is being charged with.
And they certainly aren’t going to read his confession. One in which he outlines his motivation for planting pipe bombs at the RNC and DNC headquarters.
During the interview, which was video-recorded, the defendant initially denied manufacturing, transporting, and planting the pipe bombs. When asked about his whereabouts on January 5, 2021, the defendant stated that he drove his Nissan Sentra to Washington, D.C. by himself that evening to attend a protest concerning the outcome of the 2020 election
The defendant explained: “I didn’t agree with what people were doing, like just telling half the country that they – that their – that they just need to ignore it. I didn’t think that was a good idea, so I went to the protest.”
The defendant “has never really been an openly political person” and does not discuss politics often with his family to avoid conflict. According to the defendant, “no one knows” his political views, including his family.
Later in the interview, the defendant explained that after the 2020 election, “when it first seemed like something was wrong” and “stuff started happening,” he began following the issue closely on YouTube and Reddit and felt “bewildered.” In the defendant’s view, if people “feel that, you know, something as important as voting in the federal election is being tampered with, is being, you know, being – you know, relegated null and void, then, like, someone needs to speak up, right? Someone up top. You know, just to, just to at the very least calm things down.”
The defendant felt that “the people up top,” including “people on both sides, public figures,” should not “ignore[e] people’s grievances” or call them “conspiracy theorists,” “bad people,” “Nazis,” or “fascists.” Instead, “if people feel that their votes are like just being thrown away, then . . . at the very least someone should address it.”
Read the above again very carefully. This was about concerns regarding votes being or not being counted. This was about the rhetoric from both sides. He also makes it very clear he hates BOTH parties, which is what led him to building and planting the pipe bombs at both headquarters on January 5.
Furthermore, he stated he planned for the bombs to be used to make a statement just as bombs were used to make political statements during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. The entire memorandum is only 23 pages long. It’s well worth reading.
Keep in mind, as CNN and others were reporting about his arrest…
Jake Tapper literally stated the arrested suspect was a white man.
The media really wanted it to be a narrative of someone with grievance against Trump. Instead he had a grievance against the entire political system.
The man suspected of placing pipe bombs near the headquarters of the Democratic and Republican parties in 2021 felt “extreme acts of violence” were justified because “they were in charge,” federal prosecutors said Sunday. https://t.co/20x3ZrV2i3

He acted alone
He had no allegiance to either party
The bombs were set to go off on January FIFTH
There are questions remaining though. Why did this investigation stall? Who was putting the roadblocks in place? Or was it the fact that the Biden Administration put every resource into going after those who were at the Capital on January 6 and potentially decided this case wasn’t worth pursuing?

Either way it shakes out, the J5 pipe bomber’s motive pretty much blows most if not all the conspiracy and media narratives out of the water. Sadly, that’s not going to stop the tinfoil conspiracy theorists from spinning their hamster wheels.
