“Obnoxious Sh*t” Trump Puts His Name First On Kennedy Center

He’s brash. He rude. He is an obnoxious sh*t who would put his name on anything for his own aggrandizement. He’s gone too far this time. Donald Trump has placed his name before that of President John F. Kennedy on the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The website address is now the Trump Kennedy Center. The Barbarians have renamed the gate!

We know these are the thoughts of the intelligentsia because Mediaite told us so with the headline “Critics Aghast as Trump’s Name Already Added to Kennedy Center: ‘Vandalism,’ ‘Illegal,’ ‘Obnoxious Sh*t’”. From the article:

The announcement that President Donald Trump’s name would be added to the Kennedy Center sparked swift outrage from members of the Kennedy family and other critics of the president, outrage that spiked after Trump’s name was added to the building’s wall a mere day later.

Shortly after his second inauguration, Trump appointed himself as chair the board for the Kennedy Center, and added several of his allies to the board as well. It’s been a divisive move, with the president’s MAGA supporters cheering his takeover and his critics left disgusted — and ticket sales in a free fall.

On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that the board had “voted unanimously to rename the Kennedy Center to the Trump-Kennedy Center, because of the unbelievable work President Trump has done over the last year in saving the building.”

Leavitt’s claim of a “unanimous” vote was quickly challenged. Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH) tweeted that she was “muted on the call and not allowed to speak or voice my opposition to this move,” and noted the name change had not been on the agenda. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Rep. Rick Larsen (D-WA) were not present at the meeting and voiced their opposition later in media interviews.

Jeffries and Larsen “were not present” or didn’t bother to go? Beatty was muted? or muted herself so she could do other work?

This Kennedy family reaction is from Kerry Kennedy in The Hill:

Kerry Kennedy, daughter of former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, said she will “grab a pickax” to remove President Trump’s name from the Kennedy Center after Trump’s name was added to the building Friday.

“Three years and one month from today, I’m going to grab a pickax and pull those letters off that building, but I’m going to need help holding the ladder,” Kerry Kennedy posted on the social platform X. “Are you in? Applying for my carpenter’s card today, so it’ll be a union job!!!”

From the lovely site Twitchy:

Too right! I love this response so much:

Caroline Kennedy and Victoria Reggie Kennedy are both on the list of Trustees Emeritus. No family members since have lobbied to be on the board…or didn’t care enough. It takes only a modicum of time.

In this video, cray-cray Jack Schlossberg weighs in on the current name change:

Trump did notch a win for himself and for the country. I have never been to the Trump Kennedy Center but I did go to Radio City Music Hall before and after it was renovated. Wow. What a difference!

Here is more on the “illegal” name change from Mediaite:

Numerous commentators pointed out that the performing arts center’s name was established by federal law, and therefore — just like the Department of Defense — the name could not be changed without Congress amending the statute.

Nonetheless, witnesses captured photos and video clips of workers installing new lettering on the outside of the Kennedy Center, so that the sign now reads: “The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center For The Performing Arts.”

The new additional text was in a slightly different font than the original lettering.

Trump is so obnoxious. True. He does know talent, like Richard Grenell:

I would love more President like Trump. Oh yes, I would. Nice and obnoxious. No soyboys. Call the ballroom The Trump Ballroom. Name a few things after Melania. Name something after Tiffany Trump. Don’t you love it?

It’s illegal, point blank. Since the Kennedy Center is a memorial to President Kennedy, the name cannot be altered in the way that it was done. Here it is in case no one believes me:

    https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?path=/prelim@title20/chapter3/subchapter5&edition=prelim

    • So, it must remain forever named as in the statute? In which case, it was ALREADY illegal, and has been for quite some time – somebody stuck the word “memorial” in there, which is NOT in the statute.

(Actually, it should be shut down and put up for sale – as there is NO Constitutional basis for the Federal Government to be involved in the “performing arts” in any way, shape, or form.)

“…. NO Constitutional basis for the Federal Government to be involved in the “performing arts” in any way, shape, or form”

Apart from the obscene “theatrics” of politics.

  • American Human says:

BTW, why does anyone think Kennedy really accomplished anything? Trump has accomplished ten times what Kennedy did just in ten months. Remember Bay of Pigs? His fault after promising help and not providing it. Cuban missile crisis? The deal was that the US would remove missiles from Turkey and Russia would remove them from Cuba, not much of a win. How many women did Kennedy boff in and around the WH? Let’s see what else? Well, he was assassinated but that wasn’t something he did. If he hadn’t been killed, he would been yet another ho hum president. Oh, and he got us mixed up in Vietnam too.

  • Jack says:

I believe we got mixed up in Viet Nam after the French defeat which was in the 50s, so that would be Eisenhower?

I think it was mr. Johnson who went hot and heavy there.

    • Yes, under Eisenhower and Kennedy, it was just “military advisors.” As one wise man once said, though, an “advisor” smelled just the same as any other soldier after lying three days dead in the jungle.

  • Stephen C says:

It’s Trump’s way of revenge. He knows his DOJ and the RINO Congress will never pursue the Schiffs, Comeys and Brennans; this is his way to stick it to them all.

  • Que says:

    “Don’t you love it?”

No. Moreover, the author writes like a middle school boy who just discovered the name “Lake Tititcaca.”
But go ahead and giggle. Locals won’t call it the “Trump-Kennedy Center.” They’ll just continue to call it the “Kennedy Center.” Just like Chicagoans don’t refer to the “Willis Tower;” it will always be known as the “Sears Tower.” And eventually the name of Trump will be removed.

  • Citizen Tom says:

The building name is a distraction. Trump is trying to influence the culture, and whatever the building is eventually called will probably be a reflection of his success.
