It’s been a few days since the release of Randi Weingarten’s new book, Why Fascists Fear Teachers, but left-leaning rags are raving.

Hillary Clinton endorsed Randi’s ramblings as “a critical read for the moment”.

Nasty women.

NPR says teachers are being attacked. And this is a ploy to “undermine democracy”.

Randi took to Rolling Stone to do a write-up, self-promotion of sorts, too. I know what you’re thinking: “Does anyone read Rolling Stone anymore?” Well, I did, so you didn’t have to.

Weingarten kicks off with a quote from historian, Heather Cox Richardson: “Democracies die more often through the ballot box than at gunpoint”, she quotes.

No, democracy doesn’t die at gunpoint, Randi. Conservatives, apparently do.

It’s been one week since Charlie Kirk was murdered by a lunatic who wrote about “fascists” on shell casings.

IMHO, not the best historical quote to choose from given the timing. A little bearing goes a long way. But, Democrats like Randi and Hills are truly the classless scavengers that they show themselves to be. And Rolling Stone‘s editorial staff? They are also very bad at their jobs and should be freaking fired.

There’s more to that mirror reflection than a whole lot of ugly, Randi. Look again, sister.

The President of The American Federation of Teachers and member of the self-dubbed “party of education” had yet more to say:

On the whole, higher levels of education are associated with stronger democracies — a country with an educated populace is more likely to become or remain a democracy. The more education you have, the less likely you are to vote for an authoritarian.”-Randi Weingarten

To the voters with Masters and PhD degrees who voted for Trump? WE don’t count. In fact, we’re just as bad as the dullard, Okies from Muskogee Randi and her lot like to look down upon.

Authoritarians actively attack truth, knowledge, and critical thinking because an uninformed public is easier to control. Degrading public education and critical thinking skills may only prime more Americans to not recognize disinformation and misinformation and take authoritarian leaders like Trump at their word.

It makes me wonder whether far-right extremists are trying to deliberately inculcate an anti-critical thinking, pro-authoritarian disposition by undermining public education.”-Randi Weingarten

So much to unpack here. Which truth are Donald Trump and the so-called “authoritarians” attacking? The truth that a man cannot be a woman? The truth that a human lifeform is a LIFE at conception?

What other truths are the “authoritarians” trying to undermine? The truth that we have a problem with illegal immigration? The truth that there is problematic criminal activity in our cities? And, what about the truth that there is glaring problem of abysmal test scores of American kids in our public school system? Hint: the last truth was not brought about by Trump and the “fascists”, who wanted schools to stay opened. The public schools tragedy is on people like Randi Weingarten who kept schools closed to in-person learning and peppered in DEI and SEL and revamped, woke lessons for the students in lieu of, well, you know, reading lessons.

And what do fascists do when they’re worried that students might learn about the truth on their own? They ban books. These books disproportionately feature stories about LGBTQ+ communities, people of color, and others who have been marginalized.”-Randi Weingarten

What “truth”, Randi? The truth that one cannot simply say they are the opposite of their gender and have it be so? The “truth” that identifying as a cat does not make a human a member of the feline species? And, honestly, some “truths” are better left OUT of school libraries. Now, here comes spot the lie:

Why, yes, they do want to control what children read and how children think. Walk into a public school-any public school. In any common area-in any classroom, K-12, in many an administrator’s office and what will you see? A rainbow. A Pride-Progress flag. Words like “inclusion” and “diversity”. All over the place are subtle, subliminal hints to students to fall in line and walk in lockstep. Comply, or else. Most of the kids don’t know it’s even a thing.

Randi Weingarten describes her TDS-laden book as “a love letter to teachers”. She says that Americans don’t want far-right culture wars. They want “teachers, school nurses, better science labs, decent ventilation and air-conditioning” — and they want their kids to be “adept at critical thinking”.

Critical thinking involves not resorting to name-calling (far-right), insults (fascists), meaningless platitudes and actually having a debate on differing ideologies before yelling “fascist” at the opposing party and going to cry in a corner. Or, yelling “fascist” and taking a sick day from work to wave around a homemade swastika sign and scream at the sky. Or, at the absolute worst, plot and carry out an assassination of someone because he said something you didn’t like. THE very system Randi Weingarten loves and supports promoted all of the above abhorrent behaviors.

Honestly, we “far-right” Americans just want our teachers to shut up and teach our kids how to read and write and do math problems after having their summers off, minus the political agenda. It’s really not a big ask. We want our school nurses and school psychologists to stop trying to gender transition our kids. We want the return of TRUE science-even though some of its truths are uncomfortable-in the classroom (especially simple biology and lessons on when DNA is formed). And, yes, we do want our kids adept at critical thinking which is why we have taken things into our own “far-right-fascist-MAGA” hands. Randi Weingarten and some of her beloved teachers and colleagues have proved themselves incompetent-time and time again.

Randi? We’re not the fascists here, bless your heart. We’re just waking up after a long, COVID slumber. And, frankly, we’re not scared of any of you.
