Here they go again, again. Nancy “Crypt Keeper” Pelosi is grinding her geriatric heel into the forehead of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to keep the ambitious youngster under her control. It’s committee assignment time, y’all, and so long as the elderly Democrats have control of the assignments, they have the power. The youthful Democrats have seen their youthful colleagues on the Republican side taking powerful positions in the coming (Thank God) Trump Administration, which will springboard them to more powerful positions and major money in the future and the Dems are not best pleased. They don’t want to sit at the children’s table anymore. We call swamp fight.

Nancy Pelosi already gave Hakeem Jeffries her Speakership. How can the whippersnappers dare ask for more? Jamie Raskin how now wrestled the House Judiciary Committee from Jerry Nadler and AOC is gunning for Oversight. According to the Daily Beast:

Nancy Pelosi is reportedly campaigning against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) bid to be the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee.

The former speaker of the House of Representatives is instead pushing Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) to win the high-ranking role, and is “actively working to tank” AOC’s bid while “making calls” on behalf of Connolly, Punchbowl News reported Thursday.

The report adds that Pelosi’s behind-the-scenes maneuvering displays the sheer “amount of political capital” she’s willing to put into Connolly’s campaign—the verdict of which will be decided next week.

Whoever nabs the committee’s top spot will be tasked with closely watching President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming administration.

However, the verdict is ultimately decided by the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, which chooses who to recommend to the full Democratic caucus.

The Democrats now control none (0) levers of power in the Capitol. Watching this Swamp Fight is a little like watching the Scavenger Shop scene in A Christmas Carol:

These characters, rather than mourning Scrooge, seize the opportunity to profit from his demise.

That’s the way the Swamp Fight works. They fight over the crumbs. However, Connolly is not that young (74 to AOC’s 35) and he announced he is being treated for esophageal cancer last month. Maybe not the best time to be taking on a powerful, new position. Naturally, we wish him speedy recovery and best of health. He doesn’t look too bad:

Connolly is the A Team? Don’t make me laugh. In the Assisted Living Facility that the Capitol has become, mebbe.

Also never forget that this isn’t the first Swamp Fight between Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Nancy Pelosi. Four years ago, AOC began her fight against Nancy. Once AOC won her seat, she led a group to sit-in at Nancy’s office:

Sandy Cortez aimed her laser eyes on Nancy before she was even sworn in. A week after she won election to Congress, AOC led a climate change sit-in at Pelosi’s Capitol Hill office, with 150 student activists. And, Sandy is quite the fundraiser too.

And then came the BIF. As The Hill explains:

For months, Pelosi has insisted that the bipartisan $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill (the one that largely addresses roads, bridges, rail and power grids) would be put up for a vote only if the larger $2.3 trillion “human infrastructure” bill was linked to it in reconciliation. That’s what progressives such as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and “the Squad” – Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) – have been insisting, as part of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

And they have repeatedly threatened to tank the bill if the $1.2 trillion (often referred to as BIF, or Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework) is voted on without the $2.3 trillion in social spending attached to it.

Nancy blinked. Even Creepy Joe Biden crypt walking into the Capitol didn’t help Nan wrangle AOC and the Squad. Those meddling kids just wouldn’t get with the program. They have no respect for the elderly.

AOC still has no respect for the elderly. Neither woman is smart, but they are both savvy. Know the difference. The party is hungry for youth:

Youth must be served, or they will scoot the old folks off the stage.
