Democrats: It’s Not Us, It’s You

Democrats: It’s Not Us, It’s You

Democrats: It’s Not Us, It’s You

The sad-sack, defeated Democrats are still moping and sulking. How could this have happened? How could Kamala Harris and Tim Walz be defeated by (fascist) Donald Trump?

This write up from the brilliant Sasha Stone sums things up quite nicely: Sorry, Democrats. America Is Just Not That Into You.

Stone says the Democrats remind her of Glenn Close’s mistress character, Alex Forrest, in the 80s thriller, Fatal Attraction-obsessed to the point of utter psychosis.

She’s not wrong.

There’s almost nothing worse than getting dumped. You’ve done everything right. You had all the money in the world — a billion dollars! You had all the celebrities — Harrison Ford, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Barbra Streisand! Who could ask for anything more? Well, it turns out 76 million people.”-Sasha Stone

Stone likens the sudden turn towards Trump to Richard Nixon’s election in 1972. People were tired of the hippies and the chaos from the counterculture revolution of the 1960s. Nixon defeated Democrat, George McGovern, who was in-bed with the Hollywood elite of that era. Just place Warren Beatty in George Clooney’s place. The silent majority was tired of the chaos, the protests and the elite encouraging and bankrolling all of it. When Nixon resigned, the Dems were convinced they needed to get their mojo back, and went further to the left, which is what alienated the American people-then and now.

The Democrats will need to learn some hard lessons to rebuild their party and offer the American people a vision for the future, one they actually want. Or, as people who have been dumped are always advised, it’s time to work on yourself.”-Sasha Stone

But they are the ones who claim to not need the “work”. Still, they say we do. After all, some of us are just “uneducated white women” who were afraid of our husbands and cast our votes for the fascistist of fascists and fascism. We may even have a peppering of bigotry and racism in our blood. We are greedy Americans who want to keep our hard-earned dollars. This, also makes us horrible human beings and faaaaaaaascists. And the rest of us who voted for Trump are also, furthermore, misogynists in addition to being fascists because they cannot say the word “fascist” enough.

They are the ones obsessed; boiling rabbits and sitting in the dark turning a table lamp on and off to the melody of Madame Butterfly.

Well, what am I supposed to do? You won’t answer my calls, you change your number. I mean, I’m not gonna be ignored, Dan!”-Alex Forrest, Fatal Attraction

I can see it now: I’ll tell you what I am going to do, Dan. I will shave my head. I will go on a sex strike.

Sex strike, you say, oh, psycho hose beast? Great, we say! Less abortions if you move in that direction. Bye, Felicia.

The worst thing anyone can do after being dumped is to refuse to accept reality. The stalking of Instagram, the calls and hang-ups, the obsession, the tears, the gallons of ice cream, the laying on the couch with unbrushed hair, and MSNBC droning on in the background.”-Sasha Stone

And some do still refuse to accept reality:

The threat of fascism in the United States is no longer conjectural. It is swiftly gathering momentum, fueled by the extremism of the party set to soon control both the executive and legislative branches of the U.S. government as well as most of the federal court system.

The successful relaunch of Trump’s political quest has again rocketed him into the stratosphere of power. Corporate profits for the few will reach new heights. Only humanity will suffer.

This deeply perilous time requires realism — but not fatalism. In the worst of times, solidarity is most needed.”-Norman Solomon, Salon

A deeply perilous time, indeed. A deeply perilous time the Democrats helped create.

Here’s another thing we know about the psycho-hose-beast mistress. She knows she’s messing with a married man. Her moral compass tells her to do it anyway. She can’t get this man out of her head to the point of obsession. She is beyond rational thinking.

In 2016, the dialogue was Russia this, Russia that. The word of the year is fascist, everybody. The Democrats, like, Alex Forrest will fixate, harp and obsess.

So, Democrats. Please accept our break-up letter to you:

America has done your bidding for a few years now, Democrats and yes, I think it is time we focus on ourselves. Our futures look completely different and our values simply do not align. And, to be honest, you have been kind of abusive to us over the past few years. We have lost any trust we possibly could have had in you. We felt disconnected for so long and could not put our finger on it until you kept screaming “fascist” in our faces. And, to be completely, 100-percent transparent, some of you are pretty damn ugly on the inside and out.

We could simply let them down gently and say, “it’s not you, it’s me” but where is the sense in that?

No Democrats, it’s you. Please lose our number.

That’s a point the Democrats missed. In their struggle for women’s empowerment, they’ve been casting too much in the way of men’s disempowerment. Perhaps that appeals to single women, but married women have a serious and vested interest in their husbands’ ability to succeed and advance in the workplace. When they tell us that more women need to be promoted, they are concomitantly saying that fewer men should be promoted, and that’s an attack on the husbands of married women.

They won’t learn. Right now, democrats think that the entire problem was that they weren’t radical enough for our tastes.

Democrats ran a crap campaign for a crap candidate and blame everyone else. At least the liberal/progressives are physically marking themselves as people to avoid. Best thing they’ve done in decades. Please, segregate yourselves.

The seeds of defeat are found in victory. In 2016 we partied like it was 1984 when the win was fluke. Now it’s winning like Nixon. Well, Nixon got 60% of the vote and all but a handful of electoral votes. Trump had a solid win but it was not anything out of the ordinary. Trump won because of the border and the answer to the question “are you better off than you were four years ago?” was no. If the we treat thus as a landslide win the Democrats will be back four years from now.

Psycho hose beast… I haven’t heard that in a LOOOONG time.. Well played Lisa

Ordinarily after a failed coup you’d see lots of hangings. Pushing Gropey Joe off the ballot was a coup attempt. Apparently Idiot Joe’s loyal base is not enough to bring about the executions. Sure, they will start a whisper campaign against Pelosi et al, but they don’t care. They’ll just retire, take their ill gotten millions (billions?) and fade behind the scenes.
