Alrighty my beautiful political nerds and nerdettes. This morning we are going to speak of a blast from the past. Samantha Power. Name’s familiar, huh? She was Obama’s Ambassador to the United Nations and wife of Cass Sunstein, Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs for Obama. They were considered THE D.C. Power Couple. Cass is off being a professor somewhere and Miss Powers is Joe Biden’s Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (U.S.A.I.D.). Plus, she is an expert on genocide, allegedly. So, when there is a problem in Michigan and the Bidenites fear they have issues in their 2024 Presidential Race, who ya gonna call?

The Bidenites want to quell anymore protests ahead of the Democrat Michigan Primary. Last evening, the Wall Street Journal posted an article: “Biden Aides Rush Back to Michigan as Supporters Fume Over Gaza Deaths”

The delegation, led by deputy national security adviser Jon Finer and U.S. Agency for International Development Administrator Samantha Power, follows a January visit by campaign manager Julie Chávez Rodríguez, who was publicly rebuffed by the mayor of Dearborn, Mich., and other local Arab-American elected officials.

The Thursday trip to Michigan is infused with presidential politics. Polls show Biden trailing former President Donald Trump in Michigan, one of the so-called “Blue Wall” states along the Great Lakes that Biden flipped in his 2020 campaign triumph. Dearborn is home to the largest Muslim population in the U.S. and is roughly 54% Arab-American, according to census figures. Biden won Michigan in the 2020 election by about 150,000 votes, or nearly 3 percentage points.

While Biden faces only minor opposition in the primary, a group of more than two dozen local officials have launched a “Listen to Michigan” effort, vowing to vote “uncommitted” on Feb. 27. The leaders have been pressing the White House for a permanent cease-fire in Gaza and said the moves are aimed at holding Biden accountable.

Biden has faced protests and disruptions at his recent public events from activists calling for a cease-fire, and Democrats have expressed anxieties that the issue could hurt Biden’s ability to replicate the enthusiastic turnout from young voters that helped him win in 2020.

All of those elements have created a sense of urgency within the White House to address the concerns of the constituency groups in Michigan.

Biden traveled to the Detroit area last week but didn’t meet with Arab-Americans as part of his itinerary. While aboard Air Force One during the trip, Biden spoke with Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.,) the only Palestinian-American member of Congress, according to people familiar with the call.

You know that there is no way that Joe Biden could sit down with Arab-American leaders in Dearborn. Those “leaders” would know the “truth”. The truth is that Joe Biden is barely in charge of his own ice cream. He is not running the Executive Branch of the United States government. Pffft.

Samantha Power is then dispatched to Detroit. At the same time, Power has faced a revolt within her department, mirroring the Pro-Palestinian cabal at the State Department. I don’t agree with much this gentleman has to say. Well, except the part about USAID being a cutout for the CIA, but he talks about the problems Samantha Power is facing in her own office:

“You wrote a book on genocide and you’re still working for the administration: You should resign and speak out,” said Agnieszka Sykes, a global health specialist who told The Washington Post she left her job at USAID late last week.

Sykes interrupted a speech Power was giving in Washington on climate change and natural disasters to invoke Power’s book “A Problem from Hell.” The Pulitzer Prize-winning work examines and condemns U.S. inaction on various atrocities, from Armenia to Rwanda, spanning several presidential administrations.

Go right ahead, Joe. Send another one of the Obama retreads. Those people, like Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who have tried to play both sides of the fence and appease friend and foe alike and only make the United States look weak. Send Samantha Power to Michigan. That will seal the deal for the 2024 Presidential Race.
