Just this weekend, the media (in the form of Margaret Brennan on “Face The Nation”) tried to make the case to Republicans (in the form of Chris Christie) to just “move on” and “let it go” when it comes to poor baby Hunter Biden because really, he’s pleading guilty to those two tax misdemeanors, so he’s been punished enough, right???
CBS’s @MargBrennan urges Republicans to “move on” from Hunter Biden. The media never moved in. To @GovChristie on @FacetheNation: “I was wondering, after this plea happens, if would you advise your party to move on?” Christie: “No.” pic.twitter.com/MPA1VCdF19

I am not a Christie fan, but he did get to the heart of the matter here. Hunter Biden is getting away with a slap on the wrist, for crimes that Democrats have repeatedly said must be taken seriously, and We the People deserve to know why.
This morning, news broke that probably sent the media reaching for their Pepto Bismol, and the White House communications office for the tequila. Devon Archer, who was Hunter Biden’s good buddy and longtime business partner, has agreed to testify to the House Oversight Committee. And he is apparently going to go on the record about just how much Joe knew about Hunter’s business dealings.
🚨 JOE WAS ON THE PHONE 🚨
In at least a dozen instances, Hunter put his father, then VP, on speakerphone with his overseas business partners.
In one instance with Biden associate Devon Archer, two Burisma executives explicitly asked Hunter, “Can you ring your dad?”

This is a big deal because remember, Joe Biden constantly asserted that he never even TALKED with Hunter about his business deals. He said it during debates…
In 2019, Joe Biden claimed, "I never discussed a single thing with my son about anything having to do with Ukraine. No one has indicated I have."
Today we learned that "Hunter then called his father, put him on speaker…and introduced the Ukrainians to Joe Biden…" pic.twitter.com/4mqt8fxqqS

… and he has continued to make these assertions.
Well, Devon Archer is in a position to know, and he could certainly blow a hole in Joe Biden’s denials – which have shifted from “the president never discussed business with his son” to “the president was not in business with his son,” which is a fairly significant change in message. So, what can Devon Archer tell the House Oversight Committee? Well, according to him, Hunter liked to call Joe up and put him on speakerphone during these meetings.
One such meeting was in Dubai late in the evening of Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, after a board meeting of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, which was paying Hunter $83,000 a month as a director.”
Archer, who also was a director, is expected to testify that, after dinner with the Burisma board at the Burj Al Arab Hotel, he and Hunter traveled six miles north to the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach to have a drink with one of Hunter’s friends.”
While they were sitting outside at the bar, Vadym Pozharskyi, a senior Burisma executive, phoned to ask where they were because Burisma’s owner, Mykola Zlochevsky, needed to speak to Hunter urgently.”
Soon afterward, the two Ukrainians joined Hunter and Archer at the Four Seasons bar and Pozharskyi asked Hunter: “Can you ring your dad?” At the time it was early afternoon Friday in Washington, DC.”
Hunter then called his father, put him on speaker, placed the phone on the table, and introduced the Ukrainians to Joe Biden by name as “Nikolai and Vadym.”
He also said words to the effect that the Burisma bigwigs “need our support.”
VP Biden greeted the Ukrainians but spoke only in vague pleasantries during the short call, and in other such interactions with Hunter’s overseas business partners, Archer is expected to testify.”
Congressional investigators are expected to probe the reasons for Zlochevsky requesting the urgent phone call with Joe Biden.”
Hunter performed the same party trick as many as two dozen times in Archer’s presence, the Long Island-born father of three is expected to tell congressional investigators under oath.
Just last week, Senator Chuck Grassley released the FBI’s FD-1023 form that detailed an entire bribery scheme around buying Joe Biden’s influence to the tune of $10 million to make Burisma’s legal problems go away. We now have a report that the FBI told the Delaware U.S. attorney’s office that it had corroborated several details in the FD-1023. The smoke is definitely getting thicker around Hunter and Joe, and it’s obvious that there is a fire somewhere. Can Devon Archer finally point to where the fire is, in such a way that even the media can’t ignore it?
That seems unlikely. First of all, Devon Archer has significant legal problems of his own. Archer was convicted in federal court of bond fraud to the tune of $60 million in 2022, and just recently lost his appeal to have his conviction tossed. Democrats are sure to point out his conviction during his testimony as a way of screwing Hunter Biden over one last time (insert joke here about how Hunter likes being screwed over) in a revenge ploy. Maybe. Archer could be putting on an act, in hopes that it might get his sentence reduced. He is certainly allowing a noble narrative to be pushed on his behalf.
Archer refused to comment yesterday, but a close associate said he is testifying because he believes it is his “civic duty.”
He has “nothing to hide, no revenge to enact nor anyone to protect other than his family and he feels he has been handcuffed by the absurdly bogus [fraud] case into remaining silent. In a forum where he has immunity, he can at least start to speak truth.”
Since news broke that Archer would testify before the Republican-controlled committee, his family has been receiving death threats and warnings to “keep your mouth shut.”
Notice that Archer’s “close associate” confirms that he has gotten immunity in order to testify to the House Oversight Committee. Since Devon Archer has apparently been subpoenaed to appear before the House Oversight Committee, and has canceled on them three times already, one has to wonder if he was holding out for an immunity deal before going under oath. Expect the Democrats on the committee to point out Archer’s delay, his immunity, and his conviction during his testimony. After all, these Democrats are invested in protecting Hunter, because by protecting Hunter, they are protecting Joe.
We don’t have a date yet for Archer’s testimony, but with Congress about to go on their August recess, it will likely have to happen within a week. I can’t see Democrats delaying their vacations for Devon Archer. Stay tuned, everyone – it’s getting hot and swampy in here, and I don’t just mean the weather in Washington DC.
UPDATE 1:15 PM PDT
A date has been set.
Just in: House Oversight Committee’s transcribed interview with Devon Archer is set for next Monday, July 31. This should be the last time the date is changed but you never know. https://t.co/dcriFgUl9V
