The city of Portland has been under siege from rioters for over six weeks now. The idiot mayor Ted Wheeler seems fine with letting the city burn down so long as he can blame President Trump for it.

Meanwhile, Portland continues to get crazier. Besides the fact that you have IEDs being lobbed at police and federal agents, and reports of three federal agents who have likely suffered permanent blindness thanks to the rioters using lasers on them, now there are “moms” on the march (put on a yellow shirt and you’re a “mom” now).

And the “moms” have now been joined by those who call themselves veterans, as well as “Naked Athena.” Because what this protest was missing was a naked white woman doing yoga in the street in front of police. And the media are absolutely in love with the narrative of this spectacle.

Well, Portland NAACP president E.D. Mondainé is really done with the spectacle of white people showing off to display their “solidarity” and other various body parts.

Images of “Naked Athena,” as the protester has been labeled, have gone viral, her unclothed confrontation with police earning her accolades as a brave ally of the cause. But I see something else: a beneficiary of white privilege dancing vainly on a stage that was originally created to raise up the voices of my oppressed brothers and sisters. In this, she is not alone. As the demonstrations continue every night in Portland, many people with their own agendas are co-opting, and distracting attention from, what should be our central concern: the Black Lives Matter movement.”

Get the popcorn, it gets better.

The protests that have gone on for weeks in Portland and around the country had a very specific origin. The killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis prompted a nationwide reckoning with the original and savage crime of slavery our country committed against African Americans. This crime has been reverberating through every generation in this country, black and white, for 401 years. That monstrous crime has finally caught up with us as a nation. I do not believe it is a time for spectacle.”

Unfortunately, “spectacle” is now the best way to describe Portland’s protests. Vandalizing government buildings and hurling projectiles at law enforcement draw attention — but how do these actions stop police from killing black people? What are antifa and other leftist agitators achieving for the cause of black equality? The “Wall of Moms,” while perhaps well-intentioned, ends up redirecting attention away from the urgent issue of murdered black bodies. This might ease the consciences of white, affluent women who have previously been silent in the face of black oppression, but it’s fair to ask: Are they really furthering the cause of justice, or is this another example of white co-optation?”

Congratulations on discovering the point, E.D. Mondainé! What was once called the “soft bigotry of low expectations” has become the hard bigotry of no expectations. Thanks to the wholesale buy-in to race hustlers like Robin DiAngelo, white leftists now believe that they are ESSENTIAL to the Black Lives Matter movement. In fact, without them, there is no movement. It is their JOB to stand in front of black people to protect them in order to prove their “allyship” or whatnot. You see, black people simply can’t protest by themselves, otherwise there might be problems. These white protestors and anarchists and opportunists now believe that if they leave, the police will simply arrest all the black protestors en masse and they won’t stand for that.

As far as black lives actually mattering, well, not so much. This is not about the preservation of black lives. Portland is now a “rage against the machine” moment.

The original point of the protests, as Mondainé says, got lost a long time ago. Now, there are just loud and violent people roaming the streets, and George Floyd is a forgotten man.

Mondainé says that he still “welcomes” white people in the movement, but he wants them to “reflect on whether any actions they take will truly help establish justice, or whether they are simply for show.” Considering the chaos in Portland and Seattle that is spreading across the country with zero regard for actually addressing the issues of police brutality and the value of black lives (especially black children), it’s obvious that whatever control that groups like the NAACP thought they had, has been completely obliterated. The movement now belongs to white anarchists and their naked yoga.
