You know it. I know it. My dog Truman knows it. The current crop of Democrat presidential contenders is an uninspiring group of clowns. Some Democrat insiders are worried. Do they need more clowns for this circus? I could argue yes and no.
The current candidates have their niches. Joe Biden has the name recognition, which, to be real here, is the only reason he gets any money. Bernie Sanders has the hard-core Socialists who feel the Bern. Elizabeth (Fauxcahontas) Warren gets the “gimme” crowd. Right now, Tulsi Gabbard is getting the love from hormonally driven men who find her girl-fight with Hillary Clinton “hot” and dig female fighter pilots. Lisa wrote about that fight. Read about it here. The rest of the field consisting of Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg and Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke are gun-grabbing clowns, who aren’t even vice-president material.
And, then there is the “enthusiasm gap”. There is no groundswell. Remember holding your nose to vote for the late John McCain in 2008. Yes. That is where the Dems are now. That is why the Democrats must impeach Donald Trump to keep him from winning a second term.
No less than the failing New York Times noticed the lack of enthusiasm for the current crop of clowns:
When a half-dozen Democratic donors gathered at the Whitby Hotel in Manhattan last week, the dinner began with a discussion of which presidential candidates the contributors liked. But as conversations among influential Democrats often go these days, the meeting quickly evolved into a discussion of who was not in the race — but could be lured in.
Would Hillary Clinton get in, the contributors wondered, and how about Michael R. Bloomberg, the former New York mayor? One person even mused whether Michelle Obama would consider a late entry, according to two people who attended the event, which was hosted by the progressive group American Bridge.
Other names floated included the clownish Eric Holder and Michael Bloomberg. Yikes.
CBS News filed this report. And, yes, the newsreader has no energy and dead eyes.
The Washington Examiner reported on the push back from the current candidate clowns:
Once a rising star in the Democratic Party, first as mayor of Newark and then elected to the Senate in 2013, Booker now finds his campaign cash-strapped and rarely breaking 3% in primary polls. He hopes his call to “rise” above negative, Trumpcentric messaging and his plan to energize minority voters will be his ticket to the White House.
And:
Former Maryland Rep. John Delaney has been running for president longer than any other candidate in the large Democratic primary field and announced his candidacy in 2017.
“I can understand why many are worried about the vulnerabilities of the current top tier candidates. That’s why it is so short-sighted of the DNC to try to narrow the field so far in advance of when the first votes are actually cast,” Delaney told the Washington Examiner.
Two words, Delaney: Snowball and Hell.
The Democrats biggest problems are that all of their candidates are unappealing and that they promise everything to everyone. Not to mention that they are all a bunch of fascist, gun-grabbing clowns. But, keep ’em coming. Trump voters are totally stoked.

A lot of it is Hillary. She spent the years from 2008-16 sowing salt on the fields of potential Democrat contenders to avoid some young upstart stealing her spot again. The party went along because they didn’t want her to make a grab at 2012.
And a lot of it is Silver’s Inevitable Demographic Koolaid, which is almost a religious faith with the Left. The belief that Wokeness is all the rage with all the youngsters these day, coupled with the idea that anyone who has ever voted Democrat will always and forever continue to vote Democrat, has driven a lot of the attempts to out Left each other.
Which is foolishness. How many times have we seen business fail because they reorganized to reach a new, more hip market while pushing out their old core of regular customers? The Democrats are doing something similar with their old Blue Collar base.
One problem for the Dems is that they’ve drunk their own koolaid. They bought Alinsky’s message of demonizing rather than engaging opponents. That works initially, when opponents are caught off guard, become apologetic or defensive, and waste their time denying they are demons.
But over the longer haul it is self defeating. An opponent who refuses to bite, e.g. Donald Trump, is mostly impervious. But practitioners become convinced by their own propaganda and lose their ability to see things clearly or argue rationally. Hence a base suffering from TDS that imagines it is living in “Handmaid’s Tale,” and candidates who must espouse woke insanity.
This is the first election I’ve ever seen in the U.S. where the candidates of one party – the Dems – campaign on the harms they promise to inflict on the voters of the other party. Crazy stuff, and no wonder they are flailing.
