Eric Holder, the DOJ, School Vouchers and….Race. Of Course.

Eric Holder, the DOJ, School Vouchers and….Race. Of Course.

Because if liberals cannot use race as a way to continue to divide this country, what’s left?  What’s better than keeping race as the top priority in the education of your children?

Children who are left to rot in rotting schools turn out to be the worst possible…racists and Eric Holder believes it’s more important to sacrifice a child’s chance for a good education for the sake of…..segregation.

“The Justice Department has petitioned a U.S. District Court to bar Louisiana from awarding vouchers for the 2014-15 school year to students in public school systems that are under federal desegregation orders, unless the vouchers are first approved by a federal judge. The government argues that allowing students to leave their public schools for vouchered private schools threatens to disrupt the desegregation of school systems. A hearing is tentatively set for Sept. 19.”

More from the editorial:

“NINE OF 10 Louisiana children who receive vouchers to attend private schools are black. All are poor and, if not for the state assistance, would be consigned to low-performing or failing schools with little chance of learning the skills they will need to succeed as adults. So it’s bewildering, if not downright perverse, for the Obama administration to use the banner of civil rights to bring a misguided suit that would block these disadvantaged students from getting the better educational opportunities they are due.”

And the DOJ believes that better educated students “threatens” desegregation.  Eric Holder…do more research:

“Eight empirical studies have examined school choice and racial segregation in schools. Of these, seven find that school choice moves students from more segregated schools into less segregated schools. One finds no net effect on segregation from school choice. No empirical study has found that choice increases racial segregation.”

Now, tell me again how it is segregationist to want to get your child, REGARDLESS OF SKIN COLOR out of a failing public school and enrolled in a private school?  And please explain to me how exactly this DOJ lawsuit does anything but KEEP black children segregated?  In horrible, crumbling public school systems that do NOTHING for the children, but everything for politics, no less.

How about we really do follow MLK, Jr.’s inspiration and judge people by the content of their character?  Character that doesn’t have a chance to develop in certain inner city public schools

How do you explain this, Eric Holder?

“School choice programs benefit most those who previously had the fewest educational options, particularly low-income families. Minority groups that are disproportionately low-income therefore benefit disproportionately from school choice. As the Friedman study notes, Milwaukee’s private schools were 75 percent white in 1994, but by 2008 they were only 35 percent white due to the city’s voucher program.”

My opinion?  Allowing disadvantaged, deserving students to attend better schools with better teachers and better curriculum would result in a liberal statist’s worst nightmare: educated adults that have learned to think for themselves and to take care of themselves with less reliance on government assistance and intervention.  Therefore, they must stop it.   And who better than the raciest of racists, Eric Holder and the DOJ?

Just a hunch.
