what is the obama doctrine?

what is the obama doctrine?

in the first hundred days of the obama administration, The One has done considerable foreign travel, seeing and being seen. we know he has a very large team of foreign policy advisors including the smartest woman in the world to help him find his way. so what is the obama doctrine for American foreign policy?

to be fair, The One has been in office only three months, so demanding a fully formed doctrine is probably asking too much. but it’s reasonable to expect substance at this point isn’t it?

obama himself was asked to define the ‘obama doctrine’ and not surprisingly, he obliged. typically, there isn’t a lot there, so you can go read it yourself because i’m not wasting blog space for it.

just recently at a speech in trinidad, obama said that reaching out to our enemies will strengthen America — we saw that play out ‘well’ with chavez, ortega, and the castros. this seems to be an important factor in The One’s overall foreign policy doctrine.

but what else is part of the obama doctrine?

it seems to mean that criticizing past presidents, democratic and republican; apologizing for past American sins, real and imagined, to both allies and enemies of the United States, on domestic and, preferably, foreign soil.

it also seems the obama doctrine is all about making him look good – at all costs. he really wants people to like him. the obama doctrine is not about advancing the interests of the people of the united states.

and finally, the obama doctrine is about advancing his interests. he is totally willing to falsely trash the past of this country in the eyes of people who have not our best interests at heart. he’s totally comfortable trashing the country in front of people like chavez, ortega and the castro boys in order that they will like him, so that he will have ‘moral authority and clarity.’

but here’s the deal: we have been the ones to liberate political prisoners. we’ve been the ones to liberate whole populations. we are the greatest force for good on the face of the earth. we really are ‘the last great hope.’

if i were to pretend to be president of this good country, I could no more imagine going anywhere — either around this country to make a speech or an appearance, or overseas with foreign leaders that i can’t relate to it. i cannot imagine sitting around a bunch of smirking America-hating dictators and listening to their rants about us without getting angry as i can be. i simply cannot. i cannot imagine myself standing up and agreeing with these people like The One tacitly did.

at some point, the time for apologies and mea culpas; smiles, pecs and fashion; and pushing reset buttons must come to an end and actual leadership must begin. given the magnitude of all the challenges that face us, it can’t come soon enough.

“it seems to mean that criticizing past presidents, democratic and republican; ”

The latest is that hes going to attempt to bring Bush and cabinet up on charges relating to issuance of orders to torture and bla bla bla.
Good luck Obama, if you want to come out looking like the biggest fool on the planet be my guest.

“pushing reset buttons must come to an end and actual leadership must begin. ”

    Dont you know ?
Hes just now organizing a task force to take on wasteful spending. Maybe he should wait on that until after he asks for the next trillion

  • Ted says:

When Dear Leader was at the CIA yesterday to do damage control since he lost their confidence in him (and they shouldn’t trust him) for releasing Top Secret info, he said this:

“Al-Qaida’s not constrained by a constitution.”

He views the US Constitution as a constraint on what he would like to implement. The “Obama Doctrine” will be what liberal doctrines always are; to find some way to misintrepret and/or read meaning into the Constitution that the founding fathers never intended.

  • Jane says:

“it seems to mean that criticizing past presidents, democratic and republican; apologizing for past American sins, real and imagined, to both allies and enemies of the United States, on domestic and, preferably, foreign soil.”

So we get that you think a little bit of humility is a bad thing but apologies are important. Surely you teach your children that? Obama is humanizing America instead of making us the invincible target everyone wants to hit. That is good.

“it also seems the obama doctrine is all about making him look good – at all costs. he really wants people to like him. the obama doctrine is not about advancing the interests of the people of the united states.”

This is really outrageous and quite unfair. He needs to forge relationships with these people. There is strength in relationships- good ones. It’s not about “him” as you imply. This is all about all of us. He is doing this so we all prosper and we all are safer. It floats all boats.

“at some point, the time for apologies and mea culpas; smiles, pecs and fashion; and pushing reset buttons must come to an end and actual leadership must begin.”

You’re kidding right? PRESIDENT Obama has done nothing but lead since January 21 when he took office. He demonstrates that with every action and every word. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean he hasn’t led. It is this very arrogance that he spoke of in Europe. You guys act like arrogant barbarians on this blog and your constant mocking is so low-class and gutter.

Call him by his title which is PRESIDENT.

  • Paul says:

    The Obama Doctrine:

The President IMHO is doing exactly what he was elected to do by the people of the United States as far as foreign relations. You guys on the right had a chance and what happened? You made everyone HATE us. You LOST and we WON. At least now we have a chance for peace with Barack.

On the domestic front, Barack will keep his eye on the economic and war balls. At the same time the perpetrators of the evil torture regimen used during the Bush administration need to come to justice. And I mean that. These are criminals of the most heinous kind and will be brought to justice just you wait. It’s been part of the plan since the beginning so Shrub, Darth and company, start counting your days! Hoo eeeh!

This is where the big electorate win in Congress comes in. With such a strong position in both houses, he can rely on Congress to handle the torture mess – they will be the bad cop while he keeps us on the high road of moving past this and focusing on the present economic calamity and the multiple wars we are engaged in. That is Hope and Change.

Now that’s the Obama Doctrine in brief for you bunch of self righteous knuckle-draggers.

  • micky says:

“So we get that you think a little bit of humility is a bad thing but apologies are important. Surely you teach your children that? Obama is humanizing America instead of making us the invincible target everyone wants to hit. That is good.”

My children are taught that when someone has vowed to kill you and made repeated attempts, with some succeeding, its not only best to not try and be their friend, its best to make sure they never get another chance to even be your enemy. Iran has described us as the great Satan and Israel as the Little Satan that both must be eliminated. Hugo Chavez supports this view. We will always be the invincible target regardless of who is running the show. When you display humility if you’ve done nothing wrong but only what a few nutjobs regard as wrong that makes you appear that much weaker. The world is not admiring us, they’re laughing at us and this jerk president who seems to act as if hes walking into a cocktail party where popularity is the name of the game
I’ve yet to see what it is that we should be so humiliated over.
What ? Going after those that slaughtered thousands of Americans ? Rescuing an entire nation from tyranny ? Fighting a common enemy with Europe ?

  • micky says:

“The President IMHO is doing exactly what he was elected to do by the people of the United States as far as foreign relations”

Regardless of your opinion he is not doing “exactly” what he was elected to do.
He was elected on his word that he would reverse Bush security policies that not only has he retained but in some cases bolstered them. In addition a good majority of the country on both sides of the aisle are protesting his outrageous spending.

“These are criminals of the most heinous kind and will be brought to justice just you wait. ”
I guess the ones that killed our citizens in cold blood on Sept 11th are the lesser criminals ? You’re contempt is obvious when you refer to people as criminals before they are actually convicted as criminals.
Wise up, its all too easy to see right thru you.

“he can rely on Congress to handle the torture mess ”

No he cant. Most of them so far are keeping as far away from this as they can for the simple fact that the law Obama says must be reckognized will reach even further back to previous administrations including Clinton who was known to perform renditions to Egypt and other countries.
Obama wants to be as detached from the whole process as much as possible for fear of humiliation. This why we are being led to believe that Holder will be operating independantly when any fool knows he answers to Obama. When the whole case falls apart Obama thinks he will be able to avoid the flying egg by saying he had no part in it all.
Dont get too excited, it’ll never happen. Obamas just trying to rev up the emotions again. You think you guys would of learned by now.

“Call him by his title which is PRESIDENT.”

I would take this seriously if I saw one ounce of the same respect directed at Bush in the last 8 years. A man who has far greater achievements under his belt than Obama probably ever will.

  • Marsha says:

“It’s been part of the plan since the beginning so Shrub, Darth and company, start counting your days! Hoo eeeh!”

Paul you’re a real lowlife aren’t you? The American people would never allow something like that so it doesn’t matter what your little plan is. Keep dreaming loser.

  • kate says:

“He needs to forge relationships with these people.”

why jane? why do we need relationships with murderous dictators that enslave their people and worse? the same ones who wish us death, destruction and basically annihilation? just curious.

  • lisab says:

the state needs an enemy to focus hatred on.

think of it this way … if there are war crimes accusations … who are the tea partiers?

    people who support war criminals.

who are the ones who through human waste on tea partiers?

    patriots.

  • PenniePan says:

Lisab I never understand anything you say or the points you are trying to make, if there are any.

“At some point, the time for apologies and mea culpas; smiles, pecs and fashion; and pushing reset buttons must come to an end and actual leadership must begin.”

That’s trite. It kills you all that President Obama is so popular and well loved by the masses. He is the epitome of leadership. He has made decisions that were difficult and would have never been made by Bush because he had no real courage. It took courage and leadership to offer an extended hand to our enemies knowing the likes of you would harangue him. It takes courage and leadership to turn things around in this country. I agree with someone who said it is the sign of the best kind of leadership. Get over yourselves already. You all whine too much. You all must be hell to live with.

  • Ted says:

The libs coming on here to try and do their best to make Dear Leader appear as though he has a clue, one small request. If you insist on calling the little goon “President,” preface the words with something like “all seeing, all knowing, and all mighty” or “Our Obama who art in DC, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE!” Oh, and don’t forget to wear the brownshirt issued to you by Dear Leader. The Obama shall not be questioned.

You’re such cute little cult members.

  • lisab says:

“Lisab I never understand anything you say or the points you are trying to make”

sure you do … you just don’t like them.

you prefer to demonize people. perhaps you work for the dems … perhaps you are just easily led.

either way, it says volumes about you that you attack other posters when they write things you do not like.

  • micky says:

“Lisab I never understand anything you say or the points you are trying to make, if there are any. ”

Damn if that doesnt say it all.

“It took courage and leadership to offer an extended hand to our enemies knowing the likes of you would harangue him. ”

Thats funny, were more frightening than Al Queda, North Korea and Iran ?

  • micky says:

“You all must be hell to live with.”

yea, you sound like a bowl of cherries yourself.

“Democratic societies don’t like war. They must be pushed into it. In World War II it took an attack on American soil to drag us into war. We are saved by our enemies, not our leaders.”

“War and preparation for war is the history of mankind, not peace.”

  • Max says:

“It’s been part of the plan since the beginning so Shrub, Darth and company, start counting your days! Hoo eeeh!”

I find it amusing that Leftists, who always resort to lines like the above, get all lathered up if somebody refers to their Messiah in a similar fashion.

Looks like you hit a nerve again, Kate. Keep up the good work!

  • 10SNE1 says:

You sure have an interesting idea of what a leader is and I am very glad you are NOT the president. We need to KNOW our enemies. We need to use up every measure before we declare them persona non gratis something the Bush administration refused to do. They just wanted to bomb the hell out of everybody.

President Obama has made remarkable progress in righting the country after the mess the previous criminal administration left the place in. Here’s hoping he has the big enough cajones to actually bring them to justice. Cheers!

  • Pat says:

Colonel Cucullu???? LMFAO! So that’s where you get your material!

Kate I must kindly protest this blog post today. The post is *almost* treasoness in the way it mocks the president and accuses him of not caring about the country and the interests. It’s almost like saying he is derelict in his duties. I can handle the Messiah references and The One references but not this. Can we lighten up a bit?

  • micky says:

” something the Bush administration refused to do. They just wanted to bomb the hell out of everybody”

    Thats an outright lie.
Would you like your memory refreshed as to how much dialogue was invested in Saddam Hussein before he left us no choice ?

“LMFAO! So that’s where you get your material!”
    No, its not “my material”
    Get it right.
If you didnt notice I gave credit to the man who said it. I’m only repeating it as a reflection of my position and in hopes you all might learn something. But then you’ve always been off in your lame accusations like correcting me on ones gender when it had absolutley nothing to do with the topic, much like this last post of yours.

Would be more impressive if you could actually say what you’re laughing your a$$ off about. I guess it would be no more genuine than you’re outrage over Kayes opinion of Obama.
I would say that Obamas releasing memos that tell our enemies whats in store for them and just how far we’ll go is about as treasoness as anything I’ve ever seen any president do.

“It’s almost like saying he is derelict in his duties. ”

I would say he is with out any reservation whatsoever

  • Jared says:

So Micky got busted again for lifting others work? At least he credited it this time.

“Can we lighten up a bit?”
No Pat they can’t. This is the fuel for their hatred driven by all kinds of things: racism, partisanship, class warfare, religiosity, just plain deep seeded anger. Some hide it better then others as you can probably tell. But they are an ugly breed, conservatives. Just learn to walk away for some fresh air occasionally for your own survival.

  • lisab says:

just remember that august 4th is

    “hug a terrorist day”

(which happens to corrospond with obama’s birthday)

  • Ted says:

It’s apparent the libs who post here don’t want to own up to their own misconduct over the past 8 years. Until they can be honest about their trashy un-American behavior when Bush was in office, then what evidence is there they are being honest now? Exactly, there isn’t any.

  • PenniePan says:

Lisab I am busted!!! I am active in the democratic party!!! You outted me all right!!!! Guilty!!!! Wow you are really good!!!!! I am soooooooooo caught!!!!!! Now maybe with your great astute powers you could get me a job with them?

In regularly visiting a number of far right blogs daily (for sport), it is quite clear to anyone who is thinking and paying attention that President Obama has accomplished more positive things for the country then any modern term president except maybe FDR who was iconic, in his first 100 days. I do believe that in spite of the insidious little blogs on the right with their inaccurate and constant bashing of him, Obama will continue to chip away at the wrongs of our country and right them.

It really doesn’t matter what any of you say. It is totally out of your hands.

  • micky says:

    Jared;
“So Micky got busted again for lifting others work? At least he credited it this time.”

Must be a b*tch to have to run the same ole fake argument everyday, be a liar, launch unprovoked personal attacks and never have one intelligent comment directed at the topic itself ?
Funny how moonbats seem to think that original thought is somehow plagiarism.
The again, it makes sense because almost all of what they say is prepared indoctrinated script straight of DNC websites or the KOS.

Jared, you’re a liar. You know that ? You’re a dispical human being and I dont care if Kate takes this comment down or not.
Once again you attacked on a personal note again without any prevocation from me.

I’ve never “lifted” anyones work without giving them credit and you have by no means ever proven that I have, and you never will.
Unless you can show everyone you are telling these lies to that its true you’ll just continue looking like the un-informed Obamadroid that you are

  • micky says:

“In regularly visiting a number of far right blogs daily (for sport), it is quite clear to anyone who is thinking and paying attention that President Obama has accomplished more positive things for the country then any modern term president except maybe FDR who was iconic, in his first 100 days. ”

Yet you can never list any of what they are

“It is totally out of your hands.”

Unbelievable, you really believe this ? Man, you really need to get caught up on how things work in this country.
You wont be saying that come the next election

  • Rope says:

It really doesn’t matter what any of you say. It is totally out of your hands

You don’t seriously believe this do you? If I had said the same thing to you 4 years ago what would you have said? My guess, wait until the next election. It’s not out of our hands. This is the great thing about THE USA, everyone has a say. Im guessing since the one became president you think democracy doesn’t work anymore? Spoken like a true lib.

  • micky says:

Now that I think about it things arent in their hands anymore than anyone elses.
They brag and they huff and puff but cant seem to even put their finger on whats going on never mind have anything in their hands.

“It is totally out of your hands”

Heh, sounds like something Dr. Evil would say.

It is totally out of you hands, I will destroy the earth unlessd you give me five TREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLION DOLLARS ! ! !
    MUAHAHAHAHAHAH !!

  • The post is *almost* treasoness in the way it mocks the president and accuses him of not caring about the country and the interests. It’s almost like saying he is derelict in his duties.

This could be funny – except that when you measure this against the things said about former President Bush in the past 8 years – it becomes sad.

The left can dish it out – and have since Bush stole the election from Gore. But they can’t take it when they are on the receiving side.

They talk about being all bipartisan/peace loving/love everyone/sing kumbaya – but they seem incapable of living their own tripe.

  • Ken says:

It will be interesting to see all of these Obamabot cockroaches scramble for the darkness when Obama’s plan results in another 9/11.

  • micky says:

It just might happen the way things are going in Pakistan.
I suggest Obama get a grip on that scene before the Taliban moves so far south they’re in Islamabad. As weak as their leadership is you can bet its going to be us that has to do something.
What could very well happen is what happened with Clinton.
His dereliction gave opportunity to plan 911 where Obamas dereliction could give opportunity to another 911 being planed on his watch and launched on the next admin. Which more than likely will be republican.

  • Mac A says:

First off, thanks for the Obama countdown clock. With some luck, he expires before it does 😉 Secondly, I find it absolutely incredible that anyone with any IQ higher than His Royal Chancellor (122) thinks this guy is doing or will ever do a good job. I am an arrogant American, proud of it and I bow to no one. Then again, I was born in the USA, am not a Muslim, and I believe that this is the greatest country in the world.
