Talk about ironic…

Talk about ironic…

I guess Perez Hilton is more of an idiot than I thought. After the Miss USA gay marriage fiasco, in which he called Miss California Carrie Prejean a “dumb bitch” for saying she supports the rights of Americans to choose whether they are for or against gay marriage although she personally opposes it, he’s posted this quote on his blog:

“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt”

– Abraham Lincoln

Really, Perez? Really?

I guess he doesn’t see the irony in putting up that particular quote.

I do!

He apparently didn’t take President Lincoln’s advice to heart, seeing as how he can’t keep his damn mouth shut. And all it does is make him look more and more idiotic. Here he is, trying to present himself as some kind of political commentator who can credibly speak about current events and hot-button political topics like gay marriage, when all he does is write snarky crap about celebrities. What, because he’s gay, he’s suddenly an authority on every angle of the argument over gay marriage? He’s a blogger notorious for drawing drips of semen from celebrities’ mouths and posting crotch shots and nip slips. He delights in tearing others down. And hey, that works for him. He has a huge following and has turned it into a pretty lucrative business. And that’s great, but it certainly doesn’t make him any kind of political genius. In fact, I’d wager that the guy would be lucky to be able to claim average intelligence.

I think my favorite part of his idiotic arguments is how she shouldn’t have said what she said because she comes from California, who recently voted for Prop. 8, and therefore, she doesn’t represent Californians properly. Yes, he really has used that exact argument, and multiple times. Here’s one example.

Um, Perez, if most Californians voted for Prop. 8, which stated that marriage was to be kept between a man and a woman, then doesn’t that mean she actually is pretty damn representative of Californians? Just because most of you liberals in California are insane moonbats doesn’t mean all Californians are, much as you might close your eyes and try to pretend the sane ones don’t exist.

In any case, maybe Perez should take the advice of President Lincoln and follow the words of wisdom presented in the quote that Perez posted on his own website.

Oh, and just for fun, here’s how the apparent majority of every day Americans feel about this controversy:

She is the perfect representation of what America is – we stand up for what we believe and defend it no matter the cost!

Why is it that Perez Hilton can insult all the people who dont share his view but he can insult us? He is the one who was rude and insultin

She was asked her opinion and she gave it. Giving a neutral answer just to please that judge would have meant she was lying. he was wrong

I think the liberal media needs to practice their tolerance with other people. They are not always (and rarely) right.

Good for her! Our country was founded on Christian principles, NOT the way man has manipulated the Constitution to justify selfish desires.

I support gay marriage. I knew she blew it with her response. I do respect her for being honest and true to herself.

She should be respected for saying what she believes and not conforming to every pressure put on her. Every American should learn from her.

Personally I couldn’t be prouder of Carrie for saying what many people feel but are too intimidated to say.

I’m openly gay and believe the answer was CORRECT!! Perez Hilton has showed that he is without CLASS, MORAL, or VALUE by calling her names.

She was right, he was wrong. I don’t share her view but nobody asked me my opinion, if they had the judge would have nothing to cry about

Hanging in the balance doesnt mean bowing down to other peoples views.. it’s simply being open minded and representing ALL AMERICANS

The question was inappropriate. not the answer. The contestants have the right to their opinion. Answer with your opinion or lie? No way

The judge asked a politically-charged question, then was upset by the answer. Any answer would be political. She answered honestly, kudos

I guess it’s okay to have an opinion as long as it agrees with Perez Hilton’s opinion. She is a very courageous young woman and I share her belief. In my opinion, the Miss USA Pageant needs to be a little more discriminating in selecting their judges.

I wouldn’t say “most Californians voted for Prop. 8”. It was a majority, ~ 7 million to ~ 6 million. 52.24% of Californian’s voted for Prop 8. That’s not “most”, that’s a majority. Semantics, but still, important. However, I completely agree with your viewpoint.

So why would anybody select an openly gay man to be a judge at a beauty pageant?

Isn’t that like asking a vegetarian to be a meat inspector, so to speak?

Is a cat fight with the potential winner a surprise to anybody?

My respect for her has gone up for speaking here mind and voicing her true opinion, and she knew that it would be unpopular before she said it. She knew that it cost her the crown before it was announced. She has class and courage that anyone with the name Hilton only wishes they could muster.

  • Wickedpinto says:

I actually caught that exchange while flipping through the channels, I only stayed for the answer cuz I heard “judge number 8 perez hilton.” and I thought, “Wait, what?”

And She didn’t just give her answer, she gave it sincerely, she truly believed what she was saying, and she said it without rancor or self righteousness. She repeated several times that it was her upbringing and her personal opinion, and she was effusive in her avoidance of accusation against gays.

And I thought, “Babe got some balls packed away in there.” And she does, but like. . whoever it is said, paraphrasing “Miss Congeniality,” should have just left it at “world peace,” if she wanted to win, but she was Honest, despite knowing that she was effed for victory after that question.

Unlike the queen Perez, Prejean never lost her poise, or her grace, she’s a good chick of the highest moral caliber.

    And hot.

I agree with the post that says that the Pageant should be more careful in choosing its judges, guest or otherwise. Perhaps they will go with a more reserved and stable individual next time.

I can only imagine the shame that this royal besmirching has afforded them.

    Sad…

The mainstream media wouldn’t do it. So we are trying to get your important messages to the American people. 11 This post is a suggested read at, http://aresay.blogspot.com/

Yes it is dripping with irony… A Gay man asked if states should follow Vermont’s example. Which is more of a yes or no question. Gets an answer he doesn’t agree with. And says the answer should be that states should decide for themselves.. And he lives in a state that made the decision and that decision was…. No….. Ok my head hurts now… Good article Cassy!

  • Slamdunk says:

Agreed–she gave an honest answer when it would have been easy to say something less genuine.

  • Kay says:

I think the quote applied perfectly to Perez. And, by the way the quote was from Mark Twain, not Abraham Lincoln

  • Son of Bob says:

This Perez idiot has reached C-league celebrity status by starting a website that steals photos from other websites, draws penises and semen on them, then posts them with hateful, snarky comments. That, and crashing EVERY celebrity club in hopes of being mistaken for somebody, is this queen’s only claim to fame.

So, the move by this beauty pageant to hire such a fool as a “judge” begs the question: Was this loaded question and the press it was sure to generate – regardless of the answer – always part of the plan?

  • Shaniquequa says:

I personally don’t like Perez anyways but I don’t understand why marriage should be between a man and a woman. Marriage is no longer “sacred” anyways. It’s just a way for the government to keep track of who you’re with and people today marry more for finance than love. But that’s just my short rant on the idea of marriage.

I’m personally not against what she said but she could have said it differently and gave it a true reason why she’s against gays instead of the “I was raised this way” arguement. Me personally I find that comment bull. I was raised to hate white people, only stick with black people, and I was raised to believe anyone who wasn’t Christian was wrong and that anyone who was gay was disgusting and HIV infected. I didn’t turn out that way. I’m bisexual, I accept gays, I’m for gay rights, I’m open towards all races but yet I still do stick with being proud to be a woman of color and I’m into white guys.

I just kinda wish she gave a better opinion about why she was against it but I want to know why was that question even in a beauty pageant? But hell what do I know I think beauty pageants are dumb anyways.

  • Crevek says:

It is amazingly hilarious how stupid Perez is, but when I say amazingly hilarious I don’t mean you can laugh at the car crash. I’m still looking for the exact quote of what she said so I will go on complaining about how the whole “gay rights” guerrilla army and how they require the exact same privileges availed to traditional couples. And by go on complaining about it I mean one long sentence that they can’t refute without lieing.

Alright, I’m not actually going to look up the quote; I’m getting sick of those who have no tolerance for difference in opinion insult her for saying something incredibly polite. Oh, here it is “I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

What is the intention of marriage when it was introduced? Not the perverted nature that it has now? Exactly, nobody knows, nobody cares, it is like the constitution, ignored because it is set in stone and not ‘progressive’ enough.

  • Justin says:

Does anybody actually care what Perez thinks? A single person in the world? Miss California is at least good looking. Perez got his “fame” by using MS Paint to draw penises on pictures of celebrities.

  • Gayle Miller says:

What Perez Hilton, that saccharine, sanctimonious ignorant cretin did was MUG that young woman – it was a beat down pure and simple. And as to his website – it is despicable and offensive as hell.

  • Sigmund Freud says:

The thing we often get most upset about are the things we despise most in ourselves.

How many times has Perez said that someone who was not super supportive of homosexuality was actually a closet homosexual. Or those who speak out against pornography are the same who enjoy it in private.

So as aggresively and venomously as he spewed his hatred, he was clearly expressing his self loathing and what he TRULY believes about homosexuality.

This does not mean that those who are, claim to be, choose to be, or pretend to be gay are all the same.

Just Perez. He obviously hates himself for being gay.

  • Ironwolf32 says:

Miss California is what Mrs. Perez Hilton wishes he was: smart, attractive, and a WOMAN.

My only question is how did such a talentless loser like him gets to be a judge in the Miss USA pageant?
