A new beginning. One of Faith, Hope, and God. President Trump spoke to The Knesset, Israel’s parliament, today just after all 20 hostages were released and reunited with their families, and pointedly proclaimed this is the dawn of a new era in the Middle East.
Prior to his speech, President Trump met with the families of the hostages.

Can you imagine trying to absorb the fact that they’ve been dealing with the uncertainty of whether their loved ones are alive or have been murdered by Hamas for nearly 380 days?? Can you imagine what it’s like to be a family of a hostage who then finds out that their loved one will not return to them alive, but will live on only in their hearts and memories? For some, tragically, their grief and pain became too much to bear and they ended their pain by suicide.
President Trump took that to heart and I’m sure channeled the families pain and joy, along with the the suffering of the hostages during his speech.
“It’s the start of a grand concord and lasting harmony for Israel and all the nations of what will soon be a truly magnificent region. I believe that so strongly, this is the historic dawn of a new Middle East.”
He also celebrated all of the living hostages that would soon be back in their loved ones’ arms and remembered the 28 slain hostages whose remains will finally receive a proper burial.
“After two harrowing years and darkness and captivity, 20 courageous hostages are returning to the glorious embrace of their families, and it is glorious,” he said.
“Twenty-eight more precious loved ones are coming home at last to rest in this sacred soil for all of time and after so many years of unceasing war and endless danger, today, the skies are calm, the guns are silent, the sirens are still.”
It is indeed a day for rejoicing, and equally a day for mourning those who are coming home to be buried. It’s also a day to be watchful and mindful that Hamas will continue to play games.
Hamas has informed parties that only 4 out of 28 bodies of murdered hostages will be returned today. The families say that this is a "blatant violation of the agreement" and demand that mediators act "immediately to rectify this terrible injustice."

I agree with others on this. Hamas is playing these horrific games solely to ensure that the world won’t learn of what they did to the hostages prior to and likely after they were murdered.
I also agree that the world insisting that Israel ‘play nice’ with the misunderstood terrorists went on for far too long. We know, the WORLD knows that Hamas is a terrorist organization. We all know that far too many who live in Gaza gleefully participated in the October 7, 2023 atrocity. We also know that Gaza citizens were complicit in moving and hiding the hostages in closets, tunnels, schools, hospitals, and essentially underground bunkers for days/weeks/months and tortured and starved them as well.
Yet, on the eve of this historic release of the hostages, and yes, a new move towards Faith, Hope, and God…here comes Anthony Blinken to insist that none of this would’ve happened if it weren’t for ….Joe Biden. Yes, really. Evidently Joe was the original architect of what we are seeing unfold today.
Tremendous challenges lie ahead that will require sustained focus, pressure and persistence to overcome. But President Trump has a historic opportunity to help make that vision real. I pray for his success, and the success of everyone working toward that goal, because peace, once achieved, belongs to no single leader or nation. It belongs to all who have suffered… to all who, despite everything, have kept the hope of peace alive and never stopped working to achieve it…and to all who will enjoy lives of security, dignity and opportunity when lasting peace is finally achieved.
As Bonchie at RedState reminds us, the Biden ceasefire deals never worked. Why? Because Hamas not only refused to step up to the table, they never wanted a ceasefire of any kind. Ever. Furthermore, peace and the hostages returning home were never going to happen with the Biden Administration because of their asinine insistence that Gaza become a state.
A number of times, President Trump invoked the faith, hope, and love that kept the families and the peace negotiators going.

Trump wanted the hostages home. And that has come to fruition. He wants peace and that started during his first term with the Abraham Accords.
Now, Hamas has backed down and, while they are still playing games, they know they are weakened. Just as Iran knows they don’t dare start another nuke program or risk holes getting blown into mountains again.
Keep in mind, as we celebrate the return of the living hostages and mourn those whom Hamas murdered in captivity, that Hamas only caved due to pressure from the Trump Administration and multiple Middle East countries. Further, with President Trump showing multiple times that he was willing to strike terrorist regimes right in their backyard, Hamas along with Iran and others know they are on the side of the losers.
So yes, does this mean full peace? We certainly hope and pray so. That said, we must also continue to be mindful and watchful because Hamas and other terrorist groups may be down, but they aren’t out.
This is a new beginning. One brought on by a willingness to do the hard things to bring about peace. But it also definitely involved strong faith, hope, and God.

Welcome home to all the hostages! As for those who return to be buried, may their memories long be a blessing to us all.
