The claim seems almost too unbelievable to be real, but President Trump directly addressed the FBI report to California law enforcement that their state might be a target for an Iranian drone attack.
On Wednesday morning, an FBI memo went out to California officials with an ominous warning.
The FBI alert said: “We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United State Homeland, specifically against unspecified targets in California, in the event that the US conducted strikes against Iran.”
It added: “We have no additional information on the timing, method, target, or perpetrators of this alleged attack.”
The alert was sent to police departments across the region, but it does not make it clear where specifically could be targeted. The FBI declined to comment when approached by The Post.
Governor Hairgel, Gavin Newsom, stopped his proto-presidential campaign to actually express some concern about the state that provides his day job. But even though he acknowledges that the threat is real, he asserts that this is all the fault of the Bad Orange Man.
Gov. Gavin Newsom called reports of Iran potentially launching drone attacks on California a “critical” threat that state and federal authorities have been monitoring — while taking shots at President Trump over the ongoing war in the Middle East.
“We’ve been aware of that information, we’ve been working collaboratively with the [State Operations Center],” he added, referring to California’s emergency and disaster management agency.
Newsom said he has yet to discuss the threats with President Trump and cast blame on the White House for starting a war without purpose that has sent gas prices surging across the globe.
“I haven’t talked to the president directly about this and I wish the president would talk to the American people about what this is all about, what’s the end game?” Newsom said.
Well, the end game is making Iran non-operational when it comes to hostile aggression against its Gulf neighbors and the rest of the world, Derek Zoolander. Remember, President Trump tried talking to them and offering them a deal. They chose poorly. But there is still plenty of damage that Iran can attempt to inflict.
Explosive-laden Iranian boats appear to have attacked two fuel tankers in Iraqi waters, setting them ablaze and killing one crew member on Wednesday, after projectiles struck four vessels in Gulf waters, said port, maritime security and risk firms.
The vessels targeted in Wednesday’s late-night attacks in the Gulf near Iraq were the Marshall Islands-flagged Safesea Vishnu and the Malta-flagged Zefyros, which had loaded fuel cargoes in Iraq, two Iraqi port officials said.
Iraq’s State Organization for Marketing of Oil (SOMO) said the Safesea Vishnu was chartered by an Iraqi company contracted with SOMO, and that Zefyros was loaded with condensate products from Basra Gas Company. Both were attacked in the ship-to-ship loading area within Iraqi territorial waters, SOMO said.
Other ships in the area have reported taking drone hits and other damage as well. Iran wants to make it too costly and dangerous to get ships through the Strait of Hormuz, in an attempt to drive the global price of oil up. However, the Trump administration is moving to counter that threat.
U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright released the following statement regarding the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR):
“Earlier today, 32 member nations of the International Energy Agency unanimously agreed to President Trump’s request to lower energy prices with a coordinated release of 400 million barrels of oil and refined products from their respective reserves.
“As part of this effort, President Trump authorized the Department of Energy to release 172 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, beginning next week. This will take approximately 120 days to deliver based on planned discharge rates.
“President Trump promised to protect America’s energy security by managing the Strategic Petroleum Reserve responsibly and this action demonstrates his commitment to that promise. Unlike the previous administration, which left America’s oil reserves drained and damaged, the United States has arranged to more than replace these strategic reserves with approximately 200 million barrels within the next year—20% more barrels than will be drawn down—and at no cost to the taxpayer.
But even with President Trump touting this plan to bring oil prices down, the warnings to California law enforcement are quite a dramatic and frightening development. After all, there hasn’t been an direct attack by a foreign government on American soil since World War II. President Trump responded to the concerns on Wednesday evening, along with the worries about Iranian sleeper cells within the United States.
when we all got off AF1, I asked about the law enforcement bulletin warning of possible Iranian plots off the shores of California https://t.co/mmok5wDBss

Speaking to reporters in an Air Force One underwing gaggle, Trump was asked by Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy about a law-enforcement bulletin warning of a possible Iranian drone attack scenario.
“It’s being investigated,” Trump said. “You have a lot of things happening, and all we can do is take them as they come.”
Trump also said he had been briefed about potential Iranian sleeper cells inside the United States, claiming authorities are monitoring them closely.
“We know where most of them are,” Trump said. “We’ve got our eyes on all of them.”
The president argued some entered the country during the Biden administration’s immigration policies.
Trump also said the U.S. military campaign against Iran is overwhelming Tehran’s forces.
“Iran is being absolutely decimated,” he said.Trump added that Iranian naval and air capabilities have been largely destroyed and said the U.S. is monitoring the Strait of Hormuz as the conflict continues.“
We’ve knocked out all of their boats,” he said. “I think we’re in very good shape.”
We know Iranian agents are present in the United States. We know that Iran wanted weapons-grade uranium and refused to consider any possible alternatives during negotiations. Is it really so farfetched to think that an Iranian ship, loaded with their weaponized drones, couldn’t be somewhere in international waters off the coast of California, just waiting? Could the remaining mullahs, plus the IRGC, really be so fanatically stupid to actually attack United States soil? I don’t see any reason to believe that they aren’t capable of ordering such an attack, even if they know it would be instantly suicidal. They are losing grip on their power, and have propped up a cardboard cutout to represent their “injured” supreme leader. When you are pledging allegiance to Ayatollah Flat Stanley, how much dignity do you have left? And how likely would you be to lash out at “the great Satan” once last time?

Just wondering:
Why would Iran target millions of its strongest supporters?
Or, is Orange Man Bad playing 4d chess, again?
“Why would Iran target millions of its strongest supporters?”
They will kill themselves in the name of their false god. Killing useful idiots is nothing to them. And think of the PR victory the governor will have if he can show dead bodies from a terrorist attack.
