Trump Prosecutor Fani Willis Explosive Allegations Per Lawsuit

We all new the 2024 Presidential Race was going to be insane, but it’s January 9 and we are already in the Twilight Zone. Rod Serling is rolling his eyes at all the different turns this race is going to take. Here is one I bet you didn’t see coming: Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis is accused of having a relationship with the Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade, the man she brought in to prosecute President Donald Trump for “trying to overturn the 2020 election”. We know this because one Michael Roman, a Trump official indicted by Willis/Wade is making these allegations in filings. Oy vey!

Like most political junkies, I became aware of this story last night because of The Right Scoop at Red State who got it from the Atlanta Urinal & Constipation Journal Constitution. Here is the scoop:

This is being reported by the Atlanta Journal Constitution and you can read it below:

District Attorney Fani Willis improperly hired an alleged romantic partner to prosecute Donald Trump and financially benefited from their relationship, according to a court motion filed Monday arguing the indictment was unconstitutional.

The bombshell public filing alleged that special prosecutor Nathan Wade, a private attorney, paid for lavish vacations he took with Willis using the Fulton County funds his law firm received. County records show that Wade, who has played a prominent role in the election interference case, has been paid nearly $654,000 in legal fees since January 2022. The DA authorizes his compensation.

The motion, filed on behalf of defendant Michael Roman, a former Trump campaign official, seeks to have the charges against Roman dismissed and for Willis, Wade and the entire DA’s office to be disqualified from further prosecution of the case.

Pallavi Bailey, a Willis spokeswoman, said the DA’s office will respond to Roman’s allegations “through appropriate court filings.”

It is unclear if the explosive issues raised in the filing undermine the validity of the indictment against Trump and the remaining 14 co-defendants or simply muddy the waters by questioning Willis’ professional ethics.

The filing also offers no concrete proof of the romantic ties between Willis and Wade, except to say “sources close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney have confirmed they had an ongoing, personal relationship.”

It alleges that Willis and Wade have been involved in a romantic relationship that began before Wade was appointed special prosecutor. It says they traveled together to Napa Valley and Florida, and they cruised the Caribbean using tickets Wade purchased from Norwegian and Royal Caribbean cruise lines — although the filing did not include documentation of those purchases.

The motion also said the checks sent to Wade from Fulton County and his subsequent purchase of vacations for Willis could amount to honest services fraud, a federal crime in which a vendor gives kickbacks to an employer. It is also possible this could be prosecuted under the federal racketeering statute, the motion said.

Roman’s lawyer, Marietta attorney Ashleigh Merchant, wrote that the “motion is not filed lightly. Nor is it being filed without considerable forethought, research or investigation.”

Holee Shite, I thought, this thing is going to blow up. And, oh brother, did it. The Xverse was en fuego. Like this with 498,000 views last night.

This whole Georgia thing has so much stink on it that the Grinch doesn’t want to deal with it. If the allegations are true, we have one hero and his lawyers to thank: Michael Roman and his lawyers beginning with Ashleigh Merchant. Roll the tape back six months ago to win The Young Turks were sure that Michael Roman was flipping on Donald Trump:

The poor Young Turks. They all need to slow their rolls. If not for the sake of their country or their future, but maybe for the sake of any integrity they have left. Maybe Fani Willis should have backed up before she indicted Trump.

I was intrigued by Michael Roman and his story. Turns out Michael is from Philadelphia and the Philadelphia magazine hates him and his kind.

“Meet Mike Roman, a Philly Guy Charged in Georgia’s Donald Trump Case”

As you’ve probably heard by now, prosecutors in Georgia released a nearly 100-page indictment on Monday against Donald Trump and 18 of his pals, accusing them of doing all sorts of shady stuff in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election that he lost but still claims to have won. Well, wouldn’t you know it: One of those pals is a Philly guy, through and through.

Michael A. Roman, known in the GOP conspiracy circles as Mike Roman, has been hit with seven counts. They are as follows:

Violation of the Georgia RICO Act
Conspiracy to impersonate a public officer
Conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree (two counts)
Conspiracy to commit false statements and writings (two counts)
Conspiracy to commit filing false documents

We know Fani Willis and her friend Nathan Wade threw lots of RICO charges out there to try to get everyone to flip on Trump. But, Michael A. Roman, or Mike Roman to us conspiracy types is worse than you think:

Roman grew up in Kensington. He got his start in politics in the mid-’90s when he worked on behalf of a Republican state Senate candidate who claimed that he lost a special election due to widespread voter fraud among Democrats. Sound familiar? In that case, the Republican candidate was actually able to convince a judge that he was right.

Roman oozed his way through the political muck and eventually made his way to the White House, serving as the special assistant to the president and director of special projects and research for Donald Trump. What does that mean exactly? Nobody was quite sure, including people who worked in the White House. For more on that, check out the 2018 Politico article “The Mysterious Oppo Researcher Working in the White House Lawyer’s Office.”

The Kensington native is in good company: Also indicted in the Georgia case is former Philadelphian Jeffrey Clark. Not nearly as Philly as Roman is. (A quick look at Roman’s Twitter feed will make you realize that he’s all Philly, all the time.) But we get to claim him nonetheless. Yay us!

The political much in Philly and Atlanta is just as disgusting at that in Washington, D.C.. I hope and pray that Michael Roman, or some small fish caught up in the ugliness, takes down this cabal.

Who knows what’s next. In Airborne School they teach you to keep your feet and knees together to bleed off the energy as you land. That might be good advice for this whole year.
