It was a beautiful thing this morning to see Senators J.D. Vance and Tommy Tuberville along with Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis speaking from the little mini-corral in front of the New York court house this morning. Speaking, that is, in support of Donald Trump. Trump is unConstitutionally gagged, but having Vance, Tuberville and Malliotakis out bucking Trump up goes a lot towards reassuring the base. Senator Rick Scott, who is somewhat of a Weeble was at the court house last Friday. That was surprising and pleasing. With Vance on the Veep list, this was a more than soothing message to the base.
One of the MANY, MANY things that bothered me in 2017, and forward, was the mumble mouths in the House and Senate, who knew the Steele Dossier was a lie and kept their yaps shut. When Donald Trump had yummy goodies they could partake of, our elected officials were there begging for everything. When Trump was being abused by Dems and the Press (one and the same, I know) they all were rearranging their sock drawers. Remember how Trump warns us that they are really after us and he is just in the way?
WSTCH : TRUMP

They want to shut me up because I won't let them silence you.
They're not really after me, they're after you. I'm just in their path." pic.twitter.com/k65wgmizGa

Having a posse out there is reassuring. There are an awful lot of vultures out there to supp on our bones. Posses protect you. From the New York Times:
Senator J.D. Vance, an Ohio Republican, joined Donald J. Trump’s entourage in court on Monday as the prosecution’s star witness, Michael D. Cohen, the former president’s fixer-turned-nemesis, took the stand.
Mr. Vance’s presence could signal a new frontier for Mr. Trump’s testing of potential running mates. The former president has been encouraging vice-presidential contenders, including Mr. Vance, to grant interviews to a range of cable networks in order to measure their performance, as well as inviting them to join him on the campaign trail and to attend fund-raisers for his campaign.
But Mr. Vance, who had been aggressively critical of Mr. Trump before running for office, has worked to repair that relationship, and is now one of his most vocal defenders in the Senate. Mr. Vance’s seat in court on Monday could also be chalked up simply as well-timed support for the former president.
Other Republicans rounding out Mr. Trump’s support group in the courtroom included Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, who has a close relationship with the former president; Representative Nicole Malliotakis of New York; and Attorney General Brenna Bird of Iowa.
Today, Veep candidate Vance said:
Posting on X Monday morning, Vance bemoaned the atmosphere of the “dingy” courthouse compared to Trump Tower near Central Park.
“The president is expected to sit here for six weeks to listen to the Michael Cohens of the world,” the post states. “I’m now convinced the main goal of this trial is psychological torture. But Trump is in great spirits.”
Nicole Malliotakis went after D.A. Alvin Bragg, rightfully:

Biden-Harris were feeling jolly over Tommy Tuberville thinking that Alvin Bragg was having his Super Bowl:

Meanwhile, Trump has been held in contempt of the gag order for the tenth time:
Remember to take your posse with you every where.

It would be far better for Members of Congress to attack Bragg and his team from the House and Senate floor where they would have the benefit of the Speech and Debate clause. If Bragg objects then they can invite him to state his case before a House Judiciary Committee.
This isn’t government process, John – it’s all part of the campaign. Bragg is one of Biden’s campaign operatives, so he needs to be met by Trump’s campaign operatives. Both sides need to be where the cameras are pointed – and that does not mean those of C-SPAN.
I assure you that if J.D. Vance got up on the floor of the Senate and ripped Bragg a new one it would be national news.
Oh, it would be – on Blaze TV, Newsmax, Breitbart, Gateway Pundit, etc.
Aunt Agatha, who’s half listening to MSNBC and CNN for her “news” while trying to figure out how to pronounce the new pronoun that her sister’s kid is using won’t have any idea – and if the name actually crossed her consciousness, would be thinking “Who’s this guy?”
Uncle Bert reads the “news” – the New York Times and Washington Post. Rarely does he get much beyond page A3, though. He won’t see anything about that “Yawn, Republicans pounce again.”
