The Senate GOP squishes to watch out for

Michelle Malkin tells us that the Senate might be voting today on the Porkzilla bill. Michelle was told that there are four GOP Senators to watch for:

  • Sen. Voinovich, Ohio: (202) 224-3353
  • Sen. Collins, Maine: (202) 224-2523
  • Sen. Snowe, Maine: (202) 224-5344
  • Sen. Specter, Pennsylvania: (202) 224-4254

Sen. Collins is already on board:

Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine said Obama, in a meeting with her on Wednesday, had persuaded her that the ultimate bill should be “in the neighborhood of $800 billion.”

“The president did convince me,” she said, adding that she believed the two sides would reach a compromise on the Senate stimulus package on Thursday.

My blood boils reading that. After the amazing display of integrity and principles in the House, why would these Senators stand for something like this? It’s sickening. We need to get these idiots out of office.

Until then, above are their phone numbers. CALL THEM. If they’re busy, e-mail them. Call and e-mail repeatedly. We need to get the message through to them that this is not what the people want. Be polite, but be firm. They might yet be swayed. The fight’s not over yet.

God, I hate northeastern Republicans (and I’m from the northeast…)

    • Call up Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) too since he said he would vote for it with a mortgage amendment, which would do nothing to get rid of the pork in this bill. His number is (202) 224-3744.

Voinovich was always a RINO. I don’t think he really knows what the word ‘conservative means

Specter is at it again. I’m from PA, which is a very conservative state with one huge liberal city that completely screws up our politics. So we get asshats like Specter and Ed Rendell suuposedly representing us. When are they gonna chop off Philly and give it to New Jersey.

Cas. Tried all the phone numbers. Got through to Collins office. They asked me what my name is and where I was calling from. When I replied that I was from Michigan and that I was calling senators from other states since I am the sad constituent of the likes of Levin and “my lefty liberal talk radio failure husband needs the help of the Fairness Doctrine to bring home the bacon” Stabenow, she promptly thanked me for my opinion and skipped learning my name. WTF does that mean? Did they count me as a no or what???

How many of you have gotten the answer “Not sure yet.” How annoying that we can all be so sure that this is crap, and they’ve got it in front of them and can’t smell the stink coming off of it.
