the petulant president

according to barack obama, apparently the answer to all america’s woes is — more barack obama! this man-child is so incredibly self-absorbed, he makes it easy for people to mock him – even at his very first SOTU speech, broadcasted around the world.

frankly it was really painful to watch. i kept thinking of what rush limbaugh always says about obama — that he’s the most inexperienced man in the room, any room. and it was true.

he was petulant, angry, beligerant, arrogant, and oddly flat and detached. his recommitment to his far-left liberal agenda was blatant and his attempts at blaming people in washington for the woes of americans was a scream — does he not understand that HE is now ‘washington’?

obama didn’t go running to the center. his feet remain firmly planted in leftist philosophy. he simply believes that when americans come to their senses, then his healthcare plan will pass. and his proposed spending freeze? well that was the throwaway line of the night, eliciting laughs, hoots, and loud smirks all over the building. and as i predicted, the narcissist-in-chief used the word “I” 96 times in 70 minutes – more than one time a minute.

all in all, an ineffective, petulant SOTU speech by the one who would be king — if only we didn’t have that pesky thing called a constitution.

oh, and as a sidebar, thank you president george w. bush for giving the american people the great justice samuel alito who managed, by a shake of the head and the mouthing of 2 words, to dismantle and overshadow the most powerful yet most petulant president on the planet.

I must admit, though I am a great fan, that was not one of President Obama’s better speeches. I didn’t see the whole “petulant” thing but his hand movements bothered me. It also wasn’t a very inspiring speech which are the ones he does best. Of course with such a high unemployment rate and deficit, not a lot to be inspired about. I was glad to see that Nan and Joe got the purple memo though.

  • PenniePan says:

What are you talking about Jared? He was great! You probably were distracted from switching back and forth between Barack’s speech and The Girls Next Door.

Kate: Barack Obama is NOT petulant. He is confident and assured. He is a leader and determined to lead. He isn’t waiting around for you insecure and leaderless conservatives to make up your mind about him. He’s going forward as I said he would, with or without your ilk.

  • Ken says:

Now I see why Pennie is in favor of legalizing Marijuana. Apparently, she smokes A LOT of it!

  • Ken says:

Don Surber has a great write up of how the AP fact checks Obama’s speech…and discovers HE’S A LIAR!!!!

    http://blogs.dailymail.com/donsurber/archives/8405

    Imagine that.

  • David says:

Pennie, I would wager that most non-Obama-koolaid drinkers like us conservatives have seen plenty of evidence from the President to have made up our minds about him LONG AGO.

I’m sorry to say that that evidence wasn’t (and still isn’t) good, and our minds have been made up that he’s a flailing noob. It is sad; but more importantly – BAD – for America.

  • micky says:

“What are you talking about Jared? He was great! You probably were distracted from switching back and forth between Barack’s speech and The Girls Next Door.”

nah, he said he likes pelosis boobs. he was probably watching them hit her in the knees and chin everytime she shot out of her seat

  • micky says:

“He isn’t waiting around for you insecure and leaderless conservatives to make up your mind about him”

we made up our mind about 2 years ago pennie.
fools like you need to be led and told what you need.
we have no leader and were still kicking your pathetic asses into irrelevance

  • gene says:

well look what the cat drug in! were you sick or burned out or what? obama’s speech wasn’t that hot. he did not look very confident pennie. he said he’d keep moving forward on healthcare but i am not so sure. i hope he does. i am tired of not being able to go to the dentist but i work 70 hours a week and have paid taxes since i was 16.

the problem with you conservatives is that all of a sudden you all are giddy. like you think you have won the lottery or something. let me break the bad news to you. we still have the white house. we still have the senate. we still have the house. now shut up.

  • lisab says:

well you could just pay the dentist instead of hoping the tax payers will pay him/her for you

besides, dental bills will not be covered under obamacare

  • Shannon says:

Obama has given plenty of good speeches, delivery not substance of course, but his SOTU sucked. It was dull and lifeless. Any lefty who thinks he was great is just kidding themselves.

Obama was not only petulant, I thought he was defensive as well.

  • Ken says:

“the problem with you conservatives is that all of a sudden you all are giddy. like you think you have won the lottery or something.”

You mean the same way the liberals have been acting since January 2009? Funny how that works, huh? You didn’t mind rubbing peoples faces in it after Obama won, but now you don’t seem to like it too much.

“let me break the bad news to you. we still have the white house. we still have the senate. we still have the house.”

Yes, gene, YES!!! Keep up that arrogance that gave the Mass. seat back to the Republicans for the first time in over 30 years! Keep it up! The voters are loving it, really they are!!

    “now shut up.”

    Not likely. Now piss off.

  • micky says:

    gene;

    “now shut up.”

and that right there is the reason wed are giddy. keep it up, please, it makes me so giddfy when you guys say that kinda crap its not even funny

  • micky says:

sorry bout the typos, my pug wants in on the action

  • micky says:

“we still have the senate. we still have the house.”

but boy o boy do you not have the SCOTUS

  • Jane says:

Petulant? No. Barack is confident and a true leader with qualities not all men possess. It is really sad that those of you who are so disgruntled can’t see that. If you could you might have a greater patriotism and love of your country. Some of you, like Micky and Ken (or are you NC Cop now?) will never be satisfied. They weren’t with Bush, (or McCain) and they aren’t with Barack. They must have been cholic-y babies.

  • Ken says:

“Barack is confident and a true leader with qualities not all men possess.”

Please tell us what those qualities are, Jane, please. I would love to hear that one. I haven’t had a good laugh since Pennies idiotic rant.

“If you could you might have a greater patriotism and love of your country.”

Ahh, I see. So because we don’t like Barack we are not patriotic, is that it? I seem to recall liberals like yourself screaming until you turned blue if anyone even hinted you were unpatriotic for your hatred of Bush. Your hypocrisy continues.

“Some of you, like Micky and Ken (or are you NC Cop now?) will never be satisfied.”

Agreed. Until “I love myself” Obama does something for the people of this country, rather than telling everyone how great he is (something that obviously worked on you), I will not be satisfied. Perhaps Jane, you could tell us all of the wonderful things that Obama has done. Be specific please.

“(or are you NC Cop now?)”

Geez, you liberal nutcakes sure do get hung up on typos, don’t you? I guess when you are incapable of arguing facts, that’s all you have.

  • David says:

Jane, my patriotism and love of my country have NOTHING to do with ONE MAN. THAT is YOUR problem – you all are a part of a cult of personality! We are a nation of LAWS not a nation of MEN. Sheesh.

Leadership?? So far, he’s managed to hitch his horse to nearly every bad idea that any DEM or his marxist & tax-dodging appointees have come up with. A plan that will eventually lead to a government takeover of healthcare; Cap & Trade legislation that would destroy the American economy; Card Check protocol that would ELIMINATE the SECRET BALLOT for Americans voting on whether to unionize or not; closed/back-room negotiations to “bribe” DEMOCRATIC members to vote for bad legislation (if it was good, they wouldn’t need to be bribed), and I could go on and on….

Barack Obama is a “true leader”?? I beg to differ, greatly. I believe that he is little more than a nice suit that (some say) can give a good speech… I even differ on THAT.

    Regards,
    David

  • David says:

Oh, and ya, lisab has a good point. Why is it that the taxpayers should be stuck with gene’s dental bill?????????

I don’t know about gene’s situation and I certainly have nothing against him or his family or anyone who might be in similar situations as he (may) be. In fact, we conservatives have been proven to be the most generous members of the most generous country in the world! But we give of our OWN accord; for our OWN reasons; to OUR chosen charities. And we give A LOT. We don’t want the government to TAKE our hard earned money and give it to someone else. We can do that ourselves, and very well, might I say.

I support the following when it comes to this situation:

    0) If NO insurance or coverage of ANY KIND is available AT ALL (such as no SCHIP, no Medicare, no Medicaid, no Social Security, no nothing), then…
    1) The individual pays the dentist cash for the dentists services for the individual’s benefit,
    2) The individual’s FAMILY pays the dentist cash for the dentists services,
    3) The individual works out a PAYMENT PLAN with the dentist to cover the expenses of the services for the individual’s benefit,
    4) The individual seeks a LOAN from his/her immediate or extended family to pay the dentist,
    5) The individual uses a personal BANK loan or (points-paying: ) CREDIT CARD to pay the dentists services for the individual’s benefit,
    6) The individual turns to their CHURCH for any aid in payment for the procedures,
    7) The individual turns to their COMMUNITY for any aid in payment for the procedures,
    7) The individual turns to their CITY/COUNTY or STATE for aid,
…and only as a very late resort,
    8) The individual turns to their FEDERAL government for aid.

What is unfair or unAmerican about this approach?

  • micky says:

If you could you might have a greater patriotism and love of your country.”

yeah well, from the sound of it you’re young enough to think this is what its supposed to look like.

pick up a book sometime without pop up pics
