Tennessee State Rep. Survives Expulsion, Cites Racism

There are times when Liberal women and Trans activists act out that I think I would gladly give up my right to vote, IF Liberal women and Trans activists would just shut the EFF up. Tennessee State Rep. Gloria Johnson is one of those women. She avoided being expelled from the Tennessee State House by one vote. Her two Black co-conspirators were expelled and, natch, Gloria blames racism. The faux martyrdom is painful, but lauded by State Approved Media. Let’s take a look at the mess Gloria and her compatriots brought on themselves.

Victory Girls has been on top of this Liberal psychodrama since March 30. You can read Nina’s first slice at the theatrics here at the peaceful riots after six were murdered at Covenant School, and you can read my follow up when the three activist Representatives found out they might be expelled here. From Fox News, here are the Spark Notes version of the last nine days:

Three Democratic lawmakers in the Tennessee state House joined pro-gun control protesters who invaded the state capitol following the tragic Monday shooting in Nashville.
Chants of “no justice, no peace” and “save our children” echoed through the Tennessee House of Representatives chamber as pro-gun control protesters posted up both inside and outside the state capitol building.
Three Democrat state lawmakers — Reps. Justin Jones, Justin Pearson, and Gloria Johnson — brought the Tennessee lower chamber to a halt when they joined in chanting with the protesters.

Protesters called for an assault weapon ban in the wake of the mass shooting, and federal lawmakers representing Tennessee are taking action.
U.S. Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Haggerty, both Republicans from Tennessee, announced on Thursday they will be introducing the Securing Aid for Every (SAFE) School Act following the mass shooting.

The Trans Resistance Network (TRN), a far-left transgender “collective,” released an inflammatory statement on Monday in the wake of the Covenant School Nashville school shooting by transgender woman Audrey Hale that killed three 9-year-olds and three adults.
Calling the mass murder a dual “tragedy,” the group wrote the first was the deaths of the children and adults in the school and extended their “deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers to those families dealing with the loss of loved ones.”
“All of these factors contribute to a population that is medically under-served and who often faces anti-trans bias while accessing care leading to significant physical and mental health disparities,” they continued.

In case you don’t read schizo intersectionality, a “Trans” person murdered six people at a Christian school, not using an AR-15. Protestors inspired by transactivists call for an “assault weapon” ban, AND although the transactivists are really sorry that Christians got killed, it’s the fault of anyone who isn’t an ally. Did you get that?

Pearson, Jones and Johnson disturbed the peace of the Tennessee State House by not waiting to be recognized to speak, shouting through a bullhorn and joining in the chanting by the protestors. I have got to hand it to Mark Strassmann of CBS he did admit the Nashville Three were disruptive . The House held a vote to expel the three members after watching video of the riot:

In the above video, Gloria Johnson of the Nashville Three said that the coming expulsion vote shows that we are losing our Democracy. Poor Gloria, she’s old enough that they taught Civics when she was in school. She must have been absent the day they taught about OUR REPUBLIC. Poor thing.

The Republican Super Majority in the Tennessee State House so the expulsion of all three should have been easy peasy. All three Democrats complained that they were just exercising their First Amendment. This is probably hard for them to understand but, as members. of the Legislature there are rules one must follow. Probably something about being recognized and no bullhorns. Gloria Johnson also worried about losing her health insurance (??).

A member of “The Tennessee Three,” State Rep. Gloria Johnson, D-Knoxville, said she learned she will lose her health benefits if the expulsion vote goes through. Johnson tweeted the head of human resources and the House ethics lawyer met with her last week to make her aware of the possible loss of benefits.
She added the ethics lawyer explained to her that in one case, a member who was up for potential expulsion could resign in order to maintain their benefits. “I also appreciate the ethics lawyer, letting me know that in one case, a member who was potentially up for expulsion decided to resign — because if you resign, you maintain your health benefits, I appreciate that information,” she wrote in a tweet.
Johnson did say she is not considering resigning and is ready to have her hearing alongside representatives Justin Pearson, D-Memphis, and Justin Jones, D-Nashville.

In the end, Gloria Johnson got to keep her health insurance and Pearson and Jones were expelled:

Two Democratic lawmakers have been expelled from Tennessee’s GOP-dominated house of representatives, an extraordinary act of political retaliation for their role in a gun control demonstration after the killings at a Nashville elementary school last week.
Thousands of protesters flocked to the Tennessee state capitol to support three Democratic members who were facing removal. Only two of the three were ultimately forced out.

And, Gloria blamed it on racism:

Gloria used her “White Privilege”. If she was a real leader, she would have stood with those two young Freshmen. But, Gloria hung those two young Black Men out to dry. Very typical behavior of a White Liberal Woman. Let the Black Men take the blame. Way to go, Gloria.

And, because Democrats never let a crisis go to waste, Kamala Harris is going to come pour Kerosene on the fire:

Could you all just leave us Tennesseans along. We have dead to grieve.

Seems Tennessee needs to hold another vote and fix this miscarriage of justice by throwing Gloria out on her butt as well.

  • Douglas R Loss says:

So which idiots in our (I’m in east Tennessee) state House changed their votes to keep Gloria the idiot in? It had BETTER not be my state rep!

    • kamas716 says:

I was wondering the same thing (not a Tennessee resident). I’m also wondering why those 4/8 representatives thought there was a significant difference in the actions of the three.

  • Steve McNally says:

There may have been racist intent in the expulsion vote.

However, that vast majority of the votes to expel were consistent and involved only the severe breach in decorum cited in the initial complaint.

Only among that small minority of votes wherein the 2 black legislators were cited, but their votes then switched, as pertains to the white female (if I am permitted to so characterize him her it them those they); it is only among that small handful that one might look to find racist thinking and intent.

All the others showed consistent, color blind thinking; confined to the specific behaviors at the core.of the proceeding.

  • GWB says:

    Gloria blames racism
Well, she could solve that pretty easily by resigning her position in protest.
