Looking for a toy for little Johnny’s birthday party? Well, if you go to Target you won’t find it down the “boys’ toys” aisle.
Clothing?! Is it me or is it scary that the anchor at the end of this clip is for real when she mentions “clothing”?
Target announced this past Friday that they will be doing away with gender-based labeling including toys, bedding and entertainment around the store. Based on the suggestions of shoppers, the retail chain determined that suggesting products by gender is “unnecessary.”
We heard you, and we agree. Right now, our teams are working across the store to identify areas where we can phase out gender-based signage to help strike a better balance. For example, in the kids’ Bedding area, signs will no longer feature suggestions for boys or girls, just kids. In the Toys aisles, we’ll also remove reference to gender, including the use of pink, blue, yellow or green paper on the back walls of our shelves. You’ll see these changes start to happen over the next few months.
This wasn’t the first time Target hopped on the PC bandwagon:
Abi Bechtel, a mother of three, called attention to the “gender bias” by tweeting a photo from inside her local Target store. The photo showed a sign for “Building Sets” and a separate sign for “Girls’ Building Sets.”

And here is more proof that Bechtel has waaaaaaayyyyy too much time on her hands:

Gender bias and microagressions. How DARE they place the words “Girls’ Building Sets” under the “Building Sets” category! ABC News interviewed the feminist behind the caving of Target-I mean-the “movement”:
“As my kids got old enough to notice that there was a distinction, my boys didn’t want to go down the girly aisles,” she said. “We would have these conversations about, it’s really okay for kids to play with any toys they want to.”
So, she’s passing her reasoning for lobbying for this change at Target stores by projecting onto her kids? They made the distinction.
Yes, feminist genius woman, boys do not normally want to go down the “girly” aisles. And girls don’t normally want to look at boys’ toys either. Is it okay for a boy to want an Easy Bake Oven or for a girl to shoot a Nerf gun? It’s a matter of preference of the child and not my place to judge. But do kids CARE how aisles in a store are labeled? No. Do girls find the colors pink and purple offensive? Are these colors a means of clumping them into a society of submission of being the “lesser sex”? Do boys gravitate towards the colors blue and green because it defines them as “dominant over the girls”? What’s next? I’d be willing to venture that the signs on the restrooms may be the next change. Unisex clothing? Maybe.
The pièce de résistance? Perhaps “Le Target” can be the exclusive retailer of Transgendered Barbie. In its nondescript packaging in the “Toy” aisle somewhere in the middle of GI Joe and Strawberry Shortcake.
This is based on the suggestion of shoppers? Let me guess-10 or 20 really loudmouthed loons kept pestering Target to do this so they caved in. Makes you wonder what’s next in the increasingly bizarre world of the Obaman People’s Republic.
I sure wish the Pandora’s Box that was opened on 11/4/08 would have been nailed shut-we’ve had nothing but sheer madness ever since that day. Each day the dystopian world shown in sci-fi movies of the 1950’s-1970’s edges closer to dismal reality.
This is EXACTLY why Trump is leading the rest of the Repubs. The majority of the nation is sick and tired of a minority whining and bitching until they get their PC way. Trump is standing up and shouting “No more!!”
