At the University of North Georgia, supporting abortion is as simple as breaking a cookie shaped like a baby.
As blogger Matt Walsh had it described to him:
A reader named Carly posted this picture to my page yesterday. This is a pro-abortion display put together by the campus atheist club last week at the University of North Georgia. Yes, those are cookies in the shape of babies. Carly tells me the pro-abortion folks were eating the baby cookies or breaking the heads off and laughing. Another picture she shared shows a cookie lying next to its severed head over top a sign reading “Abortion should remain legal because it’s constitutionally protected.”
Georgia Right to Life’s Facebook page reported that Students for Life UNG and Dahlonega Care Center set up a counter protest to the abortion cookies. And they came armed… with chalk.
And let’s also acknowledge the sheer irony that the Georgia group reported:
You see, these college boys have a vested interest in keeping the girls giggling about killing innocent human life and giving them cookies. The longer that they can pose as pro-abortion in the name of “my vagina is too pretty” and “it’s constitutionally protected” means that they have a better chance of getting consequence-free sex. It’s the oldest scam in the books.
But the whole abortion cookie rally just highlights what a dark and cruel culture we have become. This generation of college kids accepts at face value that getting rid of a baby in the womb is as simple as breaking the head off a cookie. They ignore the emotional and physical aftereffects, because those realities were never discussed in school or with parents.
Matt Walsh puts it this way in his post:
It’s funny that college kids have a reputation for being these easily offended snowflakes — and many of them are, no doubt — yet a lot of these very same snowflakes are too spiritually deranged and morally vacant to recognize when something is ACTUALLY outrageous and repulsive.
They remind me of cannibals who obsess over table manners. On one hand, they get bent out of shape if you put your elbows on the table, but on the other, they’re eating people. It’s hard to make sense of the bizarre and psychotic mix of depravity and political correctness you find on college campuses, and everywhere else in the nation.
There is a generation on college campuses right now that “cares,” but has little empathy. After all, they want to save the trees, adopt shelter dogs, accept all people no matter what, and kill unborn children with impunity and no consequences. The only people they care about are themselves and their “pretty vaginas.” Thank God there are still a few lights standing up in the darkness on college campuses – and that they bring chalk.
The longer that they can pose as pro-abortion in the name of “my vagina is too pretty” and “it’s constitutionally protected” means that they have a better chance of getting consequence-free sex.
I think you’re giving those young men too much credit. I doubt they’re that cynical. I’m betting they’re just that indoctrinated. Though some of them might figure out the “advantage” of their position later on.
And, yes, the contrast between the two displays is profound and telling.
