Slackers get naked for Obamacare

Campus Progress Action and Young Invincibles have a genius new video that is sure to change millions of minds on Obamacare. They took a bunch of young, college-aged slackers, made them get naked, and then complained about being taken off of Mommy and Daddy’s health care plans.

No, really.

What’s funny is how they say “some” want to repeal Obamacare, and they’re talking about it “on the campaign trail”. Yes, because it’s just conservative politicians who are trying to be mean! Of course, the majority of Americans want Obamacare repealed, but what does that matter? We’ve got lazy moochers to take care of!

I’m sure that the parents of these leeches are super duper proud to see their offspring brag about having to rely on Mommy and Daddy because they can’t get a job. So basically, all of us productive Americans should shoulder the burden of taking care of these unproductive spoiled brats. Nice. I bet that’ll be a really successful movement. It’s pathetic — these slackers really do just expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter, don’t they? Free health care, free jobs, free housing… but I doubt a single one of them would be willing to do the work to earn those things. They just expect it to be given to them, without the slightest comprehension of how we can afford to give them all those things.

Oh, and you know, if health care is so important, there’s an easy way to get guaranteed health care. Join the military.

But that’s just too much work, and it’s icky too, isn’t it?

Alot of students don’t get or can’t get jobs as soon as they graduate. Insurance companies drop your coverage from your parents plan THE DAY you graduate or stop attending college. I don’t think its unreasonable to require them to cover you until you are 26 or have your own coverage through a different job.

This ad is a fraud as far as I’m concerned. As long as my daughter was in college she was covered on my health plan.

    Those that don’t: lazy.
Those that “can’t:” not looking hard enough or being too picky.

Cassy, there is so much WIN in this whole article.

  • I’m inclined to be charitable. We keep young people infantilized for so long nowadays. And even for plucky, resourceful, motivated kids, it’s hard to get a job right out of the gate that comes with good benefits. No excuse for a nanny state, of course–but an insight into the mindset that develops in people who through no fault of their own are born into one.

Ummm, don’t these naked kids know that when you don’t have health insurance, you can pay out of pocket for the bills???

That is what I did back in 1996 when I graduated. I also did it for the next 3-4 years when I worked a contract job without benefits.
