Olympic gymnast Simone Biles just took a flying leap—and landed squarely in the middle of the women’s sports debate. Unfortunately for her, it wasn’t a gold-medal moment.

Simone Biles took offense to OutKick contributor Riley Gaines calling out a Minnesota high school whose softball team won a state championship Friday with a transgender pitcher.

Marissa Rothenberger, a transgender athlete, tossed a shutout to continue a dominant postseason and give Champlin Park High School a state championship.

The Minnesota State High School League posted a photo of the team on social media after the game, and Gaines noted the comments on X were turned off.

Simone Biles Vaults Right Over Reality to Lecture Riley Gaines

Simone Biles responded to Riley Gaines on X, accusing the outspoken advocate for women’s only sports of being a “sore loser,” calling her “truly sick,” and claiming she was “bullying” trans athletes by refusing to co-sign the erasure of sex-based competition.

Let’s stop right there.

Simone Biles—arguably one of the most celebrated women in sports—decided to publicly scold another woman for standing up for the very thing that allowed her to thrive: female-only categories.

If irony did backflips, we’d all be dizzy.

Riley responded with direct, unbothered, and unapologetically pro-woman truth bombs. She didn’t take the bait. She took a torch to the nonsense instead:

Which makes Simone’s attack even harder to stomach. This woman bravely came forward and revealed that a man sexually assaulted her in a space where she was supposed to feel safe. She knows what it means to have your boundaries violated. She built an entire post-Olympics image around protecting women’s mental health, saying no, and drawing lines. But now she’s shaming another woman for doing exactly that: drawing the line at letting men into women’s sports and locker rooms. At this point, you have to wonder if Simone’s mental health crusade got rerouted into a PR campaign, because what she’s pushing now isn’t empowerment. It’s submission.

We Let It Slide in Sports—Now It’s in Every Corner of Women’s Lives

This doesn’t stop at sports. When you let “gender identity” trump biological sex, every women-only space becomes optional for men. At a Los Angeles spa, a biological male strolled nude through the women’s section because he claimed to be a woman. And at Disney parks, grown men in lipstick and Mickey ears are now using the women’s restrooms, brushing past mothers and daughters who are supposed to stay quiet and “be inclusive.”

It’s selfish. It’s fucking gross and used to be considered pervy and I’m sure, once upon a time, it was against the law.

Let’s jump in the wayback machine and go seven years ago when Simone Biles finally talked about the tragedy that happened to her during her years of training to become an elite and Olympic athlete.

Simone Knows What Grooming Looks Like—So Why Is She Holding the Door?

What happened to Simone and others who suffered under Larry Nassar is horrible. So, Simone coming out swinging for Riley might be considered baffling or the most transparent case yet of a survivor turning into the enabler. She even mentioned the term “groomer” in the interview with Megyn Kelly.

Riley Gaines isn’t the bully. She’s the one getting chased off campuses, screamed at, spit on, and locked in rooms by protesters for stating what the majority of Americans know to be true: men shouldn’t compete in women’s sports.

Simone Bowed to the Mob. Riley Faced It Head-On.

Simone Biles may have called her a “sore loser,” but there’s nothing sore about Riley—she’s resolute. She’s tired of watching fairness be discarded so elites can feel virtuous on social media. If Simone genuinely cared about inclusion, she’d advocate for boundaries and compassion, not shame and gaslighting. Instead, she joined the celebrity dogpile that equates activism with scolding women for not wanting to be erased.

Simone Biles had a chance to stand with women, and she blew it. Instead of using her platform to defend the spaces that protected her rise to greatness, she used it to shame another woman for refusing to bow to the mob. But Riley Gaines isn’t going anywhere. She’s not playing nice, and she’s not playing along. While elites trade gold medals for gold stars on social media, Riley is doing the hard work of telling the truth. And that, unlike inclusion theater, actually takes guts.
