Should Obama Resign? Of Course Not. He Should Be Impeached.

Should Obama Resign? Of Course Not. He Should Be Impeached.

We’ve all heard it before. This is Article II, Section 1, of the United States Constitution; the Presidential Oath of Office.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

If executing the office of the president includes the president purposefully lying to the American people and then lying to Congress in order to get Congress to vote favorably for Obamacare, then Obama “faithfully executed the office.”  But I don’t see that the Presidential Oath of Office includes “I will lie to the best of my ability to further my own political  aspirations and agendas”.

Once you know somebody is a liar, you never know when he is telling the truth.  He has proven to me at least on several occasions that when his lips move, he is lying.  And the lie he made repeatedly about “you can keep your healthcare if you like it” was a whopper – not a “do these pants make me look fat?” lie, but a lie to millions of Americans about their healthcare, a lie repeated over and over.  That’s lying with extreme chutzpah, which we all know President Peace Prize has in spades.

Lying about Obamacare and its intent is just one of the many reasons to impeach, and hopefully is the one that might finally bring an end to the apathy and fear Congress has shown toward defending the Constitution.  It cannot be ignored any longer or we are doomed.  Let’s see if Congress works for We, the People.

Here are just a few of the other impeachable offenses that have been committed and covered extensively here at this blog and elsewhere.  Do your own research and refresh your memory and  outrage:

1.  Appointment of some 35+ individuals termed “czars” who are not confirmed by the Senate and respond only to the president, yet have overreaching regulatory powers – a clear violation of the separation of powers concept.

2.  Increasing the regulatory burden on American business through bypassing the legislative process with the executive branch agencies such as the EPA and Food and Drug Administration.

3.  Failure to take steps necessary to secure our borders and stem the flow of illegal immigration, termed as “repel invasions” – Article 1, Section 8 and Article 4, Section 4 of the United States Constitution.

Ok, I’m already tired of typing.   I’m out of Red Bull and I’d need at least two, an Advil, extra laptop batteries and the whole afternoon to continue the list.  I haven’t touched on the Benghazi cover-up, Fast and Furious, the aid and comfort provided to America’s enemies (which is TREASON per Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution), punitive audits from IRS toward Obama’s opponents, oh yes, let’s not forget the NSA spying, which is, like, a whole other blog post.  Like I said, these are just a few of his impeachable offenses.

Maybe Obama and his minions will parse the meaning of the “the best of my ability” (like Bill Clinton did with his infamous “I did not have sex with that woman”) because in reality, he clearly does NOT HAVE THE ABILITY to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution”.

Worse, not only is he an amateur and a liar void of any responsible leadership abilities, his real intent is “fundamentally transforming America”.  Not preserving… but Transforming.  Could it have been any clearer?  And if you want to transform something, you aren’t going to preserve it and you certainly aren’t going to protect and defend it.

Of course, “Resignation” is the preferable option Obama and his minions would want if they could choose, to “save” their liberal agenda and the Democratic Party.  They should not be allowed this option.  Just as he used the office of the President to attempt to “fundamentally transform” America, we need to use the Constitution to end the tyranny.  All of them – Obama, his minions, supporters and apologists – need to be held accountable for the destruction done to this country.

Yes, New York Times, this goes beyond an “incorrect promise”.  Your hero, Captain Awesome has committed some serious crimes against the Constitution and American citizens.

Let us remember when another tyrant threatened liberty:

“In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.”

He must be impeached.  Hard.

“Not a “do these pants make me look fat?” lie”
No, Catherine, they look great on you, and make you look great! 😉

“It cannot be ignored any longer or we are doomed. Let’s see if Congress works for We, the People.”
Sorry, Catherine, but I won’t lie to you about this one, either. We are doomed. There are entirely too many people who want to be taken care of by their benevolent mommy government. They want to be Julia. Congress does “work” for the people – the people who want to be taken care of, who want to be shielded from bumps on the playground and the fear of sickness and death. They work for those who would defend us from ourselves, especially if there’s a profit involved. We can have liberty or we can have our national government – we can’t have both.

GWB…I’ll still be out here, swinging for the fence…I will not give up trying to wake people the hell up. I agree, it’s a discouraging battle, but one that must be attempted. Hey, that’s why we’re the Victory Girls! Thank you for you thoughts and comments…you’re the best.

  • Merle says:

I am HOPING for the best, but still preparing for doom. As I see it, not nearly enough people are awake. Reminds me of the old Chinese curse, “may you live in interesting times”.

  • Jodi says:

Catherine, thank you for this post! I was starting to feel as if I was a lone voice out here calling for impeachment! If what this fraudster has done to our Republic does not rise to high crimes and misdemeanors, NOTHING ever will.

    WHERE IS CONGRESS?!

  • ALman says:

No, not resign nor impeach. Rather, we should pray for one another that one of us would win a lottery in the hundreds of millions of dollars. With the winnings the individual would promise to make his life a “living hell” for the next three years by:

    1) organizing and supporting persons running for Congress who will work for reason an sanity in our federal government, establishing a super-majority in both the House and Senate

    2) finding the best constitutional scholars and lawyers to undertake a “hounds of hell” assault on any number of pieces of legislation, governmental regulations, and judicial decisions

    3) locating and employing a composer to write an operetta of sorts entitled “The End of Hope and Change – Or, How I Loved to Spend Others Peoples’ Money While Poking Them in The Eye, Yet Came to Regret Having Done So!”

    • Catherine Wilkinson says:

Hey, ALman….this could work! I’m heading to my local market to buy several lottery tickets!

I’d also add to the list: 4) pay Victory Girls to handle all media – print, digital, and broadcast news and relegate the previous “legacy” or MSM to promoting ProActiv on infomercials.

      • ALman says:

Now, how in the world could I have over-looked The VictoryGirls?!? Seeing that there are so many expressing similar views, yet lacking an organized effort, who else but The Victory Girls to speahead the effort. Why it might well rival the effort at Normandy. And, good luck with the tickets (don’t forget who’s your friend :>) ).

America is going to have to start from scratch; you’ll have to rebuild the Nation again. Maybe Mr. Levin’s newest book should be your model and guide.

    • Eleanor in Hell says:

Metaphorically, what Franklin is trying to say is, termites have riddled the foundation of a once-great home. Even if completely eliminated, the vermin have left a soft, spongy structure that cannot be repaired, nor built upon. 🙁

If successful, America will never allow this to happen again.

  • Jen says:

Impeaching this president would be a completely fruitless waste of time and effort. Do you actually think the Democratically controlled Senate and Harry Reid are going to vote to Impeach this jerk? Do we not remember Bill Clinton, who ALSO lied to the American public about his affair, a lie that included telling it during a deposition that resulted in his eventual disbarment from law practice and fines? Not only did Congress vote to keep him in place, but his poll numbers went up into the high sixties and seventies. Bill Clinton, whose hailed as the finest of the Democrat leadership TODAY, whose wife was subsequently elected as a senator to a state she had barely lived in, who was then appt. Secretary of State, whose LIE concocted to hide Benghazi was accepted by the sheeple as the truth, and who is now considered the front runner for the Democratic presidential candidacy, beating out Chris Christie in Christie’s own state in polls.
The termite rot is in the foundation , as in the people of this nation. That is where we need to be, not spending time, effort, money and capitol for the next two years impeaching a jerk whose term would end shortly thereafter.

    • Catherine Wilkinson says:

This is an excellent point, FDR, Eleanor, and Jen….and I agree…there is a long and hard task of cleaning out the rot in the foundation…we can all agree on that. But I still personally want to apply the same principles embedded in our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution to be applied to the worst President in our history…we must demonstrate that at least some of us are equal to the same task the patriots faced when attempting to break free of another tyrant. I am heart-breakingly positive an impeachment attempt would be bloody and horrible and possibly so mired in politics…but I want my grandchildren to look back and see that we would not accept a tyrant.

    RESISTANCE is not futile!

I will not surrender to oboma and the Borg. See Star Trek for references to resistance.
