SCOTUS: Trump CAN Keep Transgenders Out Of The Military

SCOTUS issued a simple yet blunt one paragraph ruling yesterday. Trump’s ban on transgenders in the military can stay in place.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed the Trump administration to institute its ban on transgenders serving in the military.

In an order that all three liberal justices opposed, the high court approved an emergency petition from the Trump administration to nix a lower court injunction that blocked the ban from taking effect.

President Trump had signed an executive order Jan. 27 discharging service members who identify as transgender, a policy that was similar to one he implemented in his first administration that the Supreme Court upheld in 2019.

Does this ruling mean that the ban is finally permanent? Not quite. We will have to wait and see how the 9th Circuit Court rules on the pending litigation in front of them.

Of course, we’ve been down this road before.

During Trump’s first term, the high court took a similar course, lifting an injunction against a ban on transgender service members after it was challenged. President Joe Biden ended the policy and thousands of transgender members of the military have provided active service over the past four years.

The Pentagon has estimated more than 4,200 active service members have a diagnosis of gender dysphoria which is the military’s metric for tracking the number of transgender troops. Advocacy groups have put the actual number of trans service members much higher, around 15,000.

The Supreme Court’s decision means the military can begin discharging service members who are transgender and cease enlistment of transgender people.

Read that last paragraph again. We need our military to be 1000% mission ready both PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY. If you are transitioning you are not, nor ever will be mission capable. Why? Because of the cocktail of drugs and/or surgeries one undergoes to transition.

What’s astounding to me is finding out through discussion yesterday, that there are folks out there who A. weren’t aware that there’s a difference between someone who is gay and someone who is transgender. THAT was a bit mind-boggling. And B. They and others in the discussion weren’t aware of the rules, MEDICAL rules, governing who can and cannot be mission capable in the military.

Look, we’ve pointed it out before, but it bears repeating again.

  • People with epilepsy cannot join the military.
  • People with diabetes cannot join the military, or are NON-deployable if diagnosed during service.
  • People with blood disorders or Crohn’s cannot join the military or are NON-deployable if diagnosed during time of service.
  • People with mood, anxiety, dissociative, personality, or behavior disorders make one ineligible for the military or lead to medical retirement.

Guess what folks? That last bit is key when it involves people who decide they want to transition. It is well known that transgenders not only deal with a cocktail of drugs for their transition, they ALSO are prescribed meds to aid with their mental health issues. Which SHOULD render them non-deployable and definitely not mission capable.

Furthermore, the very health issues someone who is transitioning goes through, should absolutely and unequivocally render them ineligible to join the military.

Jasmine Crockett had to open her yap and opine on this issue, while also attempting a dunk on President Trump about…egg prices. She doesn’t get it, and never will.

And then we have the Blue Falcon himself jumping into the mix!

Well, that will certainly leave a mark. Timmy should really sit this one out.

Let’s talk for a minute about one of the plaintiffs in this case.

One of the plaintiffs, Cmdr. Emily Shilling, who began transitioning in 2021 while serving in the Navy, has been a naval aviator for 19 years, flying more than 60 combat missions, including in Iraq and Afghanistan. Her lawyers said the Navy had spent $20 million on her training.

In March, Judge Benjamin H. Settle of the Federal District Court in Tacoma, Wash., issued a nationwide injunction blocking the ban, using Commander Shilling as an example of the policy’s flaws.

“There is no claim and no evidence that she is now, or ever was, a detriment to her unit’s cohesion, or to the military’s lethality or readiness, or that she is mentally or physically unable to continue her service,” Judge Settle wrote. “There is no claim and no evidence that Shilling herself is dishonest or selfish, or that she lacks humility or integrity. Yet absent an injunction, she will be promptly discharged solely because she is transgender.”

THIS is Shilling.

He is currently a deputy program manager. He is NOT flying combat missions. Those were flown PRIOR to his start to transition. Don’t let the New York Times, nor Shilling himself fool you. Once he started the medical work to transition, that rendered him militarily useless as a fighter pilot. You just cannot be taking a cocktail of drugs as a pilot, or as a soldier. Period.

There are, as I linked above, a whole host of medical issues that keep one from joining the military, or render someone in the military as non-deployable or eligible for medical retirement. Transgender should and MUST be on that list.

Yet the left continues to push their agenda despite knowing it puts our national security and defense at risk.

Sadly, I remember when the ban on homosexuals was lifted. Not even a day later:

And those of us who pointed out the slippery slope that was being entered upon were ridiculed and attacked… that didn’t age well, did it?

    So we’ve come back from:
