Schumer Tries To Tell New Speaker How To Do His Job

Chuck Schumer continues to harp on “bipartisanship” in another “stern” warning to Republican House Speaker, Mike Johnson.

Just yesterday, Chuck urged Johnson not to repeat McCarthy’s “mistakes”.

We know, Schumer already cast caution to the wind a few days ago:

He hopes. He prays. Wait a minute. (The far-left prays?)

I say to Speaker Johnson – I plead with him – don’t repeat the mistake of McCarthy and others and just follow the hard-right in a partisan way. It’s not good for the country, it’s not good for the House, it’s not even good for the Republican Party. I hope he will change his ways.”-Chuck Schumer

And wait another minute, what ways, Chuck? He’s newly elected. He has ways, already?

Apparently, Mike Johnson does. Schumer noted that the House Republican aid package for Israel, which stands apart from the White House’s requested package leaves out humanitarian aid for Gaza and funds for Ukraine ($60 billion). Schumer has accused Johnson of taking a “purely partisan action” on his first legislative act, urging him not to be a “MAGA Mike”. It’s not “good” for the House. It’s not “good” for the country. Spoken like one was who thick as thieves with Nancy Pelosi as they carted out huge servings of pork over the years.

Johnson will address Senate Republicans today for the first time since he took over the top spot in the House. Still, ol’ Chuck just won’t quit:

Speaker Johnson should learn from the examples of Speaker Boehner, of Speaker Ryan and of Speaker McCarthy. If you try to let the hard-right run your caucus, it’s going to lead to real problems for you, your party, your House and your country.”-Chuck Schumer

Is that so, Chuck? And, it almost sounds as if the Senate Majority Leader is threatening the Speaker, if you ask me. Now, let’s really talk about what division and partisanship has done for our country, Mr. Schumer. Who, exactly, started this division and partisanship, again? Where did this mess begin? Surely, it was not with the Democrats in 2016, all they wanted to do was play nice with the Orange MAGA Man.

The swamp is on the run, MAGA is ascendant, and if you don’t think that moving from Kevin McCarthy to MAGA Mike Johnson shows the ascendance of this movement, and where the power of the Republican Party truly lies, then you’re not paying attention.”-Matt Gaetz

The swamp. Like, we’re going to actually take anything Matt The Clown Gaetz says seriously at this point? He sounds like some of the famous lefty harpies who say, Mike Johnson is an incel, (nods to Amanda Marcotte) this from our very own Toni. We’re going down a dark path, everybody. Mike Johnson is a (gasp) fundamentalist, right, Jen Psaki? Not only his he an Ince and a fundamentalist, he’s also “Christo-Facist”, according to The Daily Beast.

And this incel-fundalmentalist-Christo-facist is doling out poison pills. Beware of proposed legislation in the form of “poison pills”, according to Schumer:

She’s not wrong. Glass houses and rocks. And, speaking of houses, or the House, what does Chuck have to do with this?

And, is Chuck Schumer indicating that trying fiscal responsibility for once is the “poison pill”? Translation: Stand Alone Bill is Chuck’s Schumer’s “poison pill”. Let’s look at these numbers ounce again. $30 billion is a lot of cheddar for Ukraine. That’s not counting the $75 billion already sent to Ukraine. Honestly, $14 billion to Israel sounds like a drop in the bucket. But Schumer is whining about this, kvetching that legislation for aid to Israel being a stand-alone is a “divisive, right-wing move”. The “poison pill”. So “divisive” and “MAGA” of Mike Johnson to pull this just a few days in.

Dear Lord. I hope I am wrong, but Schumer’s words could very well be the foreshadowing of Democrats, once again, being unwilling to work with the Republicans-despite their “sincere” (cough) desire to do so. I mean, Chuck is begging and pleading and praying, for God’s sake. Translation: “bipartisanship” is code for “do what we want”, and everyone will be happy. Everyone except for We, The People, that is. We shall see later today what materializes.

Of course Schumer is play acting. He knows there are enough House Republicans who will not sellout Ukraine like the Democrats sold out South Vietnam in 1974 to pass it.

  • Cameron says:

“Ultra wealthy tax cheats.” Like any communist, their religious doctrine is that there are mean old wealthy people who are swimming in gold like Scrooge McDuck. The fact that he and his kind approve the laws that allow people to withhold money eludes them.

  • John Holton says:

His idea of bipartisanship, of course, is “give us everything we want and screw the Republicans.” Nice try, Schmuckles…

  • Lloyd says:

Schumer is the quintessential American politician: He gets in office…stays in office…never had a real job in his life…and yet is far wealthier than those fools who voted for him. Look for Chuckie to be attached to the government teat for several years to come.
How do you think Chuckie’s net worth compares with American teachers…construction workers…or other American strugglers? My guess…..Chuckie is the wealthy one!

  • John C. says:

You know, I only hear Democrats talk about bipartisanship when the Republicans hold more power. When the Democrats are on top, there is no mention of bipartisanship. Consider the “Affordable” Care Act: reordered a major part of the nation’s economy, directly affected everyone’s very longevity, and passed in the dead of night without a single Republican vote.
