Pitzer turns racist. That used to be considered evil.

Until about the late 1800’s, the mission and role of universities and colleges was to service the elite families of America. The sons of wealthy, powerful families were admitted with little regard to their own acumen or achievements. The University was a place geared to polishing the student. It provided a social setting for building lasting relationships between the next generation of powerful. However, as this mission began to change in the early 1900s and move into educating the masses, so did the need to have objective standards for admittance. Standardized testing became ubiquitous as a way to demonstrate a commitment to admit students based on their own skills and achievements rather than family pedigree.

We’ve not just witnessed the collapse of the use of SAT or ACT in college admissions, but even the idea of individual merit has gone by the wayside. Pitzer College, one of the five Claremont Colleges, is just the latest institution to abandon student merit.

Pitzer College in California has adopted a “test-blind” admission policy, meaning that standardized tests including the SAT and ACT “will be eliminated from the admission review process entirely.” (snip)

Yvonne Berumen, the vice president for admission and financial aid at Pitzer College, said in the press release that “The elimination of standardized test scores from our review process entirely has the potential to send a strong message about equity, access, inclusivity, and excellence.”

Of course it sends a message. It now devalues the degree of any future Pitzer graduate, especially those of enriched melanin. Unfair or not, all melaninated grads will suffer because equity-of-outcome is being used deliberately to maintain resentment in the Left’s pet minority populations.

Nike is a brand that is of slaves for slave masters.

Being pro-free market capitalism doesn’t mean blind support of any corporate entity that wanders by. Conservatives used to understand that we don’t ever get our values or principles from corporations – whose first fiduciary duty is to its stockholders (and it is their duty to pay attention). There is absolutely no reason for any American to support a company that kowtows to evil Communist China.

Chris Wallace isn’t even trying anymore

Wallace’s lies in service of his contempt for Republicans.

“Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace sparred with Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) over Banks’s vote against an emergency relief bill that would have allocated funds to police and first responders.

“Can’t you make the argument that it’s you and the Republicans who defunded the police?” Wallace asked Banks, who is the chairman of the conservative Republican Study Committee.

Wallace interrupted Banks, telling him that President Biden’s American Rescue Plan, which Banks voted against, would have given localities more money to hire police officers, invest in new technology and create new crime intervention programs.

“I’ve heard your point about the last year,” Wallace said. “But you and every other Republican voted against this $350 billion.”

Banks was way too polite. He should have looked Wallace in the eye and said, “Hey, Chris, if I put shit between two pieces of good, edible bread, you gonna eat it?”
