What constitutes a “rapid response” to DOGE’s cuts in extreme federal excess within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)? Well, another song of protest, of course.
The level of cringe here is off-the-charts. Judging from some of the “talent” we saw at the Grammys a few weeks ago, sit-in singalongs may be the new trend for 2025. Enter the Rapid Response Choir. Yes, there is such a thing. From their website:
The Trump administration’s efforts around mass deportation, the dismantling of democracy, and the rise of kleptocracy must be stopped and reversed. So:
We need to generate mass public disapproval through non-violent spectacle and performance
We need to be give heart to those uncertain what to do, prompting them to take action themselves
We need to lend strength and show love to those targeted by the administration:
Whether you are an undocumented neighbor
Or a targeted federal worker
Or a transgender person seeing their identity erased:
If this adminstration comes to harm you, we will make noise (hopefully lovely, inspiring noise).”-RRC.org
When scientists who dreamed of working for NOAA have been culled as part of the 5% reduction in workforce, the Rapid Response Choir is there with their “joyful noise”. Watch their “joy” melt away as a security guard in uniform asks them to clear the area after finding a rolling bag without a home (for their safety).
Hands off our NOAA!
“hands off our NOAA”
That about sums up the bureaucracy in a nutshell. They think taxpayer dollars are their birthright.

Why do they continually think this resonates with the American public?
It just falls flat when U.S. taxpayers realize the waste that the government was doing with their money.

The song, This Joy, was written by gospel music legend, Shirley Caesar. The joy, in Caesar’s interpretation, comes from The One And Only, The Lord Our God. We cannot expect our atheist intellectuals who believe in SCIENCE (unlike po-dunk, Bible-thumping knuckleheads who think wearing KN95 masks outdoors in open air is a ridiculous notion) to understand the deeper concept of this song that is tethered to Faith in things NOT of this world. They’d rather stand around in a drumming circle and singing about what they think joy is and WHO they think is taking it away.
And, the hits just keep on coming. Like this one (sung to the tune “Home on The Range“):
DOGE, DOGE is to blame
For this mess that they cannot contain
Under cover of night
They’ve tried to take all our rights
But we won’t back down without a fight!!
I see yer shakin’ in yer boots, Elon.
And, this little ditty. Who’s about to lose? All the fascists.
All you fascists bound to lose! (Yessir!)
All you fascists bound to lose!
All you fascists bound to lose!
You’re bound to lose! You fascists, bound to lose
Honestly, I do hope the projecting fascists that make up the democratic left lose bigly. Cutting expenditures on the taxpayers’ dime is a win. But those who sat in their home offices and could not report on 5 simple, productive tasks they did during their work week will sing the songs of “resistance”.
Why did they feel so entitled? When has this ever happened at a private company? In the private sector people get laid off all the time.

Cue the Rapid Response choir in their little pink vests. Sing along with us now…
This JOB that I have…the world didn’t give it to me. The world can’t take it, the world can’t take it away…
You’re right, guys and gals and non-binary pals. The world didn’t give you a job. The world doesn’t owe you jack squat. But He who giveth taketh away. God asks us to be stewards on this Earth. And if stewardship goes by the wayside, like it did with our federal spending, don’t be surprised if your job disappears.
Would someone kindly point me to their performances when all of the Keystone XL pipeline blue-collar workers lost their jobs under Biden by a single stroke of a pen?

The “rapid response” to most people who lose their jobs and need to support themselves and their loved ones? Usually, they’re hitting the pavement and canvasing with resumes, and not standing around and signing campfire songs all day. I do believe there is a lesson in stewardship on this Earth in here somewhere.

What I don’t understand is, with all the fired employees being probationary and in the first 2 years of the job, why is their firing going to cripple the agency? What are the other 90%+ of the workforce doing? Why are the new hires the critical personnel for the functions of the agency?
Instead of these badly sung songs, how about just list 5 things they did last week to contribute to our country?
