Two governors deserve boatloads of credit for bringing the issue of illegal immigration to the national spotlight – Governor Abbott and Governor DeSantis. Governor J.B. Pritzker, on the other hand, is having to live with the consequences of his own decisions.
As everyone will recall, Governor DeSantis hilariously proved the absolute hypocrisy of liberal virtue signaling by sending a single plane with 48 illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard, and we all got to watch the locals melt down. It truly was a popcorn-worthy moment. Well, Governor Abbott has continued to send the illegal migrants that the Biden administration keeps letting into the country northward. We have seen the freakout by both New York City mayor Eric Adams, and Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson. Johnson, in particular, has been very whiny about the entire thing.
Upon landing, asylum seekers were placed on buses chartered by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and dropped in various surrounding suburbs, left to find their way to the city.
This is the second recorded instance of the Texas governor transporting asylum seekers via private plane.

So, it’s okay if the illegals come and stay in Texas, but not if they move to the “sanctuary city” of Chicago. Johnson has continued to dig a hole when it comes to this one.
As the two spoke, more than 500 migrants were waiting to be placed in one of the 27 temporary shelters the city has set out for them, with roughly 200 staying in warming buses at the city’s landing zone.
With those facilities now packed – and busses arriving from states like Texas on the daily – Franza asked the ex-teacher who succeeded Lori Lightfoot about the city’s future financial response.
‘Will you be adding a tax to help pay for this?’ Franza asked, as officials have already spent $138 million on a crisis that is expected to worsen as temps drop.
‘Well, I think people are clearly familiar with what my vision is for revenue in this city, and my revenue, of course, is committed to making sure that we are doing everything we can to address the unhoused crisis in this city,’ Johnson, 47, said.
He continued: ‘70,000 people who are unhoused in this city are black families, and that’s why I invested a quarter of a billion dollars in my budget to do just that.’
The response seemed to stump Franza, spurring her to ask the tax question again.
But Johnson – a man brought up in a suburb of Cook County – continued to deflect, seemingly keeping his options open as three more charter buses were expected to arrive later in the day.
‘Will you add a tax to help pay for the migrant crisis?’ she asked, this time leading to some some audible annoyance from the first-term politician.
‘Here’s what I’ve said repeatedly,’ Johnson said, visibly peeved. ‘This is an international crisis that requires-‘
At that point, Franza – seemingly speaking on behalf of the city’s some 2.7million citizens – interrupted.
‘We’ve heard you say that.’
‘Well, no – the question I asked is, “Are you adding a tax?” Franza retorted – this time causing Johnson, like New York’s Eric Adams, to transfer blame toward the Biden Administration.
‘The answer is, the federal government has to do its job,’ Johnson said, to which Franza asked ‘What if they don’t?’ – leading to another longwinded, essentially empty response from the statesman.
‘Well, look,’ he began, before offering a false-equivalency between the crisis at the border and the ongoing one in Ukraine – a situation Joe Biden has also wedged himself into.
‘There are 30,000 Ukrainians in this city right now who sough asylum, who were refugees,’ Johnson explained, citing federal statistics. ‘What’s the difference between that crisis and the crisis we’re experiencing now?
‘This is not an unprecedented demand.
‘There were services that were attached to individuals who were seeking asylum from the Ukraine, and the federal government acted.
‘And so, my question is – and it’s the question that everybody is raising,’ the Democrat continued, ‘what’s the difference between those who are seeking asylum in this country, 30,000 of whom are in the city of Chicago?’
I have no problem with Mayor Johnson blaming the Biden administration, because that is truly where the fault lies. It’s that he wishes to blame Governor Abbott first, for not keeping these illegal migrants in Texas to begin with, after touting that Chicago is a “sanctuary city.” All Greg Abbott did was take both Mayor Johnson, and Governor J.B. Pritzker, at their word. If you say that you’re a sanctuary, that SHOULD mean that the illegals will be welcomed there first.
And when talking to ABC’s “This Week” in an interview this morning, Governor Pritzker is thiiiiiiiiiis close to getting it.
Democrat Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker says it's not fair to send illegal immigrants to his sanctuary city:

Governor Pritzker, I believe that IS the point. THIS is what you asked for. Why are you crying about lying on the bed that you made?

What Abbott has done in continuing to assist illegal migrants go north is illustrate that for these Democrat “sanctuary” cities and states are complete NIMBY hypocrites. It’s very easy to posture and virtue signal when no one is calling you out on your bullshit. Two governors dared call them out by giving these “welcoming” places exactly what they proclaimed to support, and the blue states who are now living in the “find out” part of FAFO, are shocked, SHOCKED, that Texas is going to make them live up to their virtue signal. Pritzker even dared to write to Abbott just this last Friday, trying to cry “uncle” without admitting defeat, before continuing to complain that Abbott is just a big meanie.

And this would all be over if Pritzker and Johnson and Eric Adams would simply say ENOUGH to the Biden administration, and remove their “sanctuary” designation. But that would mean making the radical leftist base angry. And the radical leftist base doesn’t care if taxes get raised, or if children are kicked out of their own school, or if illegals are flooding the border because they know they can get in. THAT’S THE POINT. The chaos is the point. Having the border wide open is the point. This was an intentional decision by the Biden administration. Do you think the administration cares where the illegal migrants end up? Not really. The point is to just get them inside in the first place, because not only does it make the left “feel good” about letting them in, but hey, cheap labor!
After all, what are blue states like Illinois and New York going to do because they’re mad? Vote Republican??? What is Pritzker going to do – support the Republican nominee??? The Biden administration takes these blue areas for granted, and politicians like Pritzker, Johnson, and Adams are just going to keep rolling over and begging for federal aid, because they fail to understand that they brought this upon themselves.
Pritzker, Johnson, and Adams are getting what they asked for, and they’re getting it good and hard. And it’s all because Abbott and DeSantis decided to make them play by their own rules.

Good post Deanna, and spot on about the hypocrisy!
One quote stood out to me..”He continued: ‘70,000 people who are unhoused in this city are black families, and that’s why I invested a quarter of a billion dollars in my budget to do just that.’”… Could he be more racist??? Sure sounds like he would have done it differently if those families were hispanic, or God forbid WHITE…
