Boston’s Pride Month Has Officially Jumped The Shark

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s city is helping support a “Trans Period Pride” event at the Boston Public Library, and somehow that is a real sentence. The event includes a “consciousness raising conversation” about transgender menstruation, catered food, and free period underwear. Pride Month has officially jumped the shark, then asked taxpayers to fund the landing.

Pride Month’s Weirdest Sequel Yet

Some days, politics feels like ordinary civic nonsense. Then Boston comes along with “Trans Period Pride” and free underwear at the public library, and suddenly the whole country needs a minute.

This is not Boston making one bizarre decision and hoping nobody noticed. They noticed, kept going, and now we are on year three.

The Massachusetts Chapter of the National Organization for Women, known as Mass NOW, is slated to host its third annual “Trans Period Pride” next month at the Boston Public Library. Attendees will hear about “trans experiences with menstruation” from the MA Trans Political Coalition.

Satire barely has a pulse anymore.

This is not a parody flyer some college kid taped to a dorm hallway or an internet troll pushing progressive absurdity for laughs. Activists planned this event, city officials backed it, and Boston is now hosting it for the third year in a row.

The Part Where Biology Enters The Chat

No wonder somewhere a normal woman just rolled her eyes into another dimension. And I must apologize, I should have warned you about the topic before you started breakfast.

From what I can gather, “Trans Period Pride” mostly refers to biological women who identify as men or nonbinary but still menstruate because the human body did not receive the activist memo. In plain English, these are women who do not want to be called women while still dealing with one of the most obvious signs of female biology. But you just know that men in dresses are gonna show up too and cry about their community-theater period cramps.

Of course, saying that out loud now gets treated like a felony against someone’s feelings. Everyone must nod along while activists call this “transgender menstruation,” even though they are really just taking ordinary female biology and rebranding it for Pride Month.

This is what happens when Tumblr politics grows up, gets a city office, and starts booking library rooms.

Books, Periods, And Drag Queens

Regular, ordinary, sane women do not need a consciousness-raising seminar about periods. They already know the cramps, the bloating, the ruined sheets, the emergency tampon search, and the quiet rage that appears when someone chews too loudly. They are not waiting for city officials to bless this whole ordeal with catered food and a fresh pair of period underwear.

And this public library location only adds to the absurdity. The Boston Public Library should bring to mind books, research, history, quiet rooms, and someone sternly reminding you that other people are trying to read.

The Boston Public Library is not some innocent background here. This is the same library system that brought us 19 Drag Queen Story Hour events during Pride Month, aimed at children ages 18 months to 5 years old.

Boston’s Priorities Are Completely Broken

The Boston Public Library has become one more public institution that cannot just be a library anymore. It has to be a Pride Month staging ground, a gender lesson hub, and now the venue for menstrual identity theater with free underwear.

This is not compassion. And it’s not bravery.  This is progressive performance art that wears a name tag and asks taxpayers to clap.

And since Boston apparently has time for “Trans Period Pride” at the public library, maybe Michelle Wu’s money trail deserves a fresh side-eye too.

Democratic Boston Mayor Michelle Wu provided $200,000 in grant funding to expand LGBTQ+ support services in Boston, according to a May 2025 press release.

Mayor Wu also received over $300,000 from a fundraiser organized by the New England Chinese American Alliance (NECAA),” the DCNF previously reported. Former NECAA board member Gary Yu was listed under his Chinese name as an official for a Chinese Communist Party intelligence agency known as the “United Front Work Department.” – AOL.com

And Democrats wonder why voters look at them like they wandered in from another planet.

The Shark Has Officially Been Jumped

They blame the backlash on hate, fear, misinformation, or right-wing media because that is easier than admitting the obvious. Normal people are tired of being told absurdity is enlightenment.

We are tired of female biology being treated like a costume trunk of ideology.

Pride Month has become a month-long dare to see how much nonsense normal people will politely tolerate. Boston has raised the stakes.

I’ll leave you with this little gem from five years ago. Yes, it’s from SNL, so proceed accordingly, especially if you’re trying to keep breakfast down. But even SNL managed to stumble into the point here. Sometimes the parody arrives before the public library does.

Normal people do not feel confused or hateful. We feel exhausted because activists keep demanding applause for nonsense while turning every public institution into an ideological craft table.
