It’s not the least bit funny, but I am laughing. First, Goldie Hawn was burgled and now, a Secret Service Agent, in California as part of the Presidential Protection Detail, was robbed AT GUNPOINT. So many questions on this one. But, if the Democrat Power Elite try to auger Gavin Newsom into that POTUS spot, it’s going to bring up a lot of good memes.
The New York Post broke the story last night in “Secret Service agent robbed at gunpoint during Biden’s California trip for star-studded fundraiser”:
A Secret Service agent was robbed at gunpoint over the weekend while President Biden was in Los Angeles attending a star-studded fundraiser, according to local police.
The incident occurred on Saturday at the Tustin Fields 1 residential community in Orange County at about 9:30 pm local time, the Tustin Police Department said in a statement on Monday.
The agent was able to fire their weapon at the armed robbers, who made off with a bag belonging to the agent, police said.
“A member of the U.S. Secret Service was the victim of an armed robbery in Tustin, California late Saturday when returning from a work assignment,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told The Post.
“The employee discharged their service weapon during the incident but unknown if the assailants were struck,” he added. “We are thankful that the employee did not sustain any injuries.”
The Tustin Police Department said some of the agent’s belongings were located after the incident.
Authorities have not located any suspects and are looking for a 2004-2006 model silver Infiniti FX35 SUV that was spotted leaving the scene of the crime.
Biden, 81, arrived in Los Angeles for a campaign fundraiser at the Peacock Theater early Saturday morning, traveling from the G7 summit in Italy.
The president stayed at an undisclosed location in the Los Angeles area overnight.
He arrived at that location at about 8:53 pm local time, just about 40 minutes before the robbery.
The Biden campaign raised more than $30 million at the event, which was attended by Hollywood luminaries like George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Barbra Streisand.
Former President Barack Obama and late-night host Jimmy Kimmel also appeared on stage with Biden during the fundraiser.
Just exactly what was this Presidential Detail Agent doing? An hour South of L.A.? In a controlled development? Forty minutes after the President landed? What was in the agent’s bag? I think this paragraph is written vaguely on purpose:

Did Biden arrive at the Peacock Theater at 8:53 p.m. local time? California Governor Gavin Newsom was at the Peacock Theater. Also at the Peacock Theater was Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass who was burgled in April.
If the Principle (aka the President) never left Los Angeles County, what was a member of the Presidential Detail doing in Orange County? The gunmen took nothing but the Agent’s bag? And, fled the scene in a car that was about 20 years old?

This smells so bad it has flung itself clear across the country. Every time I think I am done, I have more questions:

Was this some kind of pass off? A drop? How bad a shot is the Secret Service Agent?
These two fools have done dirty deeds at exorbitant prices while the country circles the bowl, nothing would surprise me:

I suspect that’s where he lives. Secret Service is part of Treasury and they investigate financial crimes so there are agents all over the country. I used to belong to a group that met over lunch and had speakers such as local officials, and one was the head of the city’s Secret Service office. When POTUS comes to town the agents are also tasked to augment the President’s security detail.
So I don’t think the issue is that the agent was an hour from LA, the issue is that no one is safe from crime in California, even in Orange county, which used to be a decent place to live.
GWB says: I think you’re probably right. And it’s lazy writers who automatically associate all Secret Service with just protecting the President.
My issue was the same as one of Toni’s:
at the Tustin Fields 1 residential community
That sounds like the projects. Which would not be where the agent lived – they get paid too well for that. Maybe visiting family. But if they nabbed “a bag” and didn’t take his cell phone or anything? Hmmmm.
The tinfoil hat guy in me wants to ask if the First Son was also on this trip and maybe left his stash in the White House again….
Or, did the Presidential team run out of adrenochrome….
