Pelosi: Illegal immigrants are “patriotic”; enforcing immigration laws is “un-American”

Fasten your seatbelts, because this video’s a doozy:

It’s interesting that this is the position that Nancy Pelosi would choose to take. It’s especially interesting that she would be worried about keeping jobs for illegal immigrants, seeing as how unemployment for actual Americans is getting higher and higher. Shouldn’t she be worried about Americans having jobs first?

Also, the very concept of illegal immigration being patriotic is ridiculous. Illegal immigrants are coming here, breaking the law, and disrespecting our Constitution. Add in the fact that cities where you have large numbers of illegal immigrants see a sharp uptick in drug trafficking, violence, and overall crime, and I really don’t see the patriotism.

Look, I’m all for immigration… when people do it legally. You want to live here so bad? Do it the right way. And if you are willing to break our laws so cavalierly, then you clearly do not have the respect for this country that you ought to have if you’re going to live here as an American. This topic brings to mind a famous quote, and it’s what I’m going to leave you with here:

In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile…We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language…and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.

Too bad there aren’t any Teddy Roosevelts left in the world. We could use one now.

Enforcing the law when it potentially reduces an influx of Democrat voters (illegals) is what Pelosi finds un-American. I will guarantee you that if illegals voted for the GOP, she’d think enforcing immigration laws is all that would prevent the world from ending.

Ok, Pelosi is an imbecile, we knew that. However, the illegal immigration from the south continues unabated. I for one, will be looking forward to this country becoming a Greater Mexico in the next 20-30 years (sarcasm) because they’ve done such a bang up job south of the border. Teh awesome…

Pelosi makes me ashamed to be Italian, though if I’m correct, Fiano is Italian so there’s hope after all!

  • They do love to paint with their broad brushes, don’t they. Gay marriages are loving, illegal aliens are patriotic, greed on Wall Street caused our problems, detainees in Guantanamo are innocent.

Pelosi’s opinions are very important — as they should be. But it’s embarrassing that the reason they’re so important, is that Pelosi is very well tapped-into the next wave of democrat talking points to come out, which you’ll be hearing all across the Sunday talk show line-up this coming weekend; not because she’s the Speaker of the House! And does she form these talking points? Color me skeptical. She doesn’t strike me as the creative type, or the well-read type. I think she’s exceptionally good at parroting the next talking point, the same way a man in the water is exceptionally good at clutching the life preserver you threw him — when he can’t swim. No other choice is available.

When my European ancestors got off the boat in America, some of the first people they met were my American Indian ancestors – whose ancestors probably walked here from Asia a few thousand years ago. Upshot? We are all immigrants. I therefore have nothing against immigration. However, I WILL have our laws respected and defended, even if I have to defend them myself. Anyone who aspires to be an American should feel the same way, or else stay the h-e-double-hockey-sticks where they are.

She has to be doing this for the attention. Nobody is THAT stupid and still intelligent.
