It was a performative and very aggressive stunt. Senator Alex Padilla decided to show up at a DHS briefing in Los Angeles yesterday and aggressively approach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
California Sen. Alex Padilla was chucked out of a Los Angeles news briefing as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem discussed the ongoing anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement riots that have engulfed the city — before being thrown to the ground and handcuffed.
The 52-year-old Democrat was hauled out of Noem’s briefing Thursday afternoon as she called California and LA leaders “socialists” who are working against the Trump administration.
“Secretary, I want to know why you insist on exaggerating and embellishing,” Padilla said from the crowd, trying to cut Noem off mid-sentence.
Here’s a look at Padilla’s aggressive stunt.
Padilla, of course, was trying to spin this into an innocent “I was just there to ask a question.” Uh huh. That was not the case and he knows it. Fox News’ Bill Melugin was there and made it clear there was nothing innocent about his actions.
Padilla burst into the room, didn’t have his security pin on that would’ve identified him as an elected official, started shouting at Kristi Noem, aggressively walked forward, and then resisted when law enforcement tried to remove him from the room. OF COURSE law enforcement was going to corral the guy and ask questions later!
The Democrats are trying to claim Padilla was just innocently asking for answers. Republicans and many others see this for what it is. A performative stunt.
“Senator Padilla should be in Washington, D.C., voting,” U.S. Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, R-Wyoming, told Cowboy State Daily in an email. “We’re voting on important legislation for the country and he’s not here. He has a responsibility to his constituents to show up at work –- not try to make a spectacle of himself.”
Padilla not only made a spectacle of himself, he has missed quite a number of votes because he’s been grandstanding in LA for over a week now. Other Democrats decided to have their own moment. One of which took place on the House floor late yesterday afternoon.
Rep. John Mannion (D-N.Y.) shocked colleagues in both parties Thursday by tearing into Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) in what sources described as a tense and profane confrontation over the forcible removal of Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.).
And boy howdy, Mannion’s diatribe got everyone’s attention.

Here’s the deal with Padilla’s aggressive stunt, House and Senate Dems doing a cute little march, and Mannion losing his shit on the House floor. Democrats have swung their support to illegal aliens over their own American constituents. They’ve CHOSEN to put criminals before citizens. They’ve chosen this mountain to die on.
Padilla can claim he went to that briefing and was just peacefully demanding a conversation. But ALL the videos show otherwise.
Padilla’s stunt was childish and over-the-top aggressive. It was also dangerous and sends a very VERY bad message to all the rioters and haters.
They got exactly what they wanted. Fake news footage they will use in their campaign ads about "authoritarianism" and the death of democracy. Against the real campaign ad footage of LA riots that conservatives will run.

Exactly. Yet what are the Democrats doing? Whining and, if you are Gavin Newsom, calling law enforcement “shock troops.” Considering he’s not done a dammed thing to help California citizens, he can just put a sock in it. Other Democrats are getting their own performative grandstanding in.
Three governors had their asses handed to them in hearings yesterday about their sanctuary state policies. Tim Walz getting nuked by Rep. Tom Emmer was a thing of beauty. Kathy Hochul looked like she was chewing on glass, and then there was Pritzker.

The LA Times immediately published a column whose headline is one for the books.
First they came for the immigrants. Then they took down our Latino Senator.
The New York Times also jumped on the bandwagon.

Which tells us all that the aggressive performance was indeed a stunt. This is their next chapter in the narrative that illegal aliens and Democrats acting like punks must be protected and coddled at all costs.
Riots have been scheduled across the country on Saturday. You just know that they have been emboldened by Padilla’s dangerous aggressive stunt.
He’s claiming that he was just there to ask some innocent questions. Yet even a CNN analyst said the Secret Service and others in the room handled the situation appropriately.
Yet, what are Democrats doing? Calling for Kristi Noem’s resignation. Which ALSO sends the signal that aggressively approaching a public official is completely ok when it fits their narrative.
Again, that sends a signal to the loons and crazies out there. The Democrats are doing this and getting away with it, why can’t we?

And yet, with this stunt, Padilla and the Democrats cheering him on have sent a strong message to America. Illegal aliens, even those who commit additional crimes, are the chosen ones. American citizens…are not. And the Democrats absolutely DO NOT CARE that this places our elected officials in danger.

A reader says: Ah I see, we’re totally into gaslighting yet again. He was not aggressive. He said his name and then the guards or whoever they were, forcibly attacked her. If you actually watch the video, he’s struggling to stand upright, not charging her. He didn’t pull them forward or do anything overtly aggressive other than try to stay standing.
The whole thing was an authoritarian show of force by Noem. To state otherwise is to deny the facts as they are shown ON VIDEO. George Orwell was certainly prescient here: “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
Also it needs to be pointed out that legislators have the right to conduct oversight and enter such facilities. He represents the people of California, whether you like it or not, and he has the right to ask questions and conduct oversight. If you believe anything else then you are showing that you love dictators and authoritarian regimes.

In the third paragraph, once again, it’s you that’s gaslighting. Elected officials havee pins they are given to identify them, and he purposely did NOT wear his. He does have a right to conduct oversite, but not to act like an aggressive ass, trying to intimidate a much smaller woman, and all while failing to follow the rules in identifying himself.
So once again, you are nothing but a mindless shill for your party, showing that you are completely incapable of either critical thought, or telling the truth.

You can scream “I’m a US Senator!” but the moment you charge the podium and refuse the orders of security to stay back, you will get stopped. And of course, you conveniently ignore the fact that after everything was done, he and Noem did sit down to talk afterward.
My suggestion to you is still in place: Stop being inferior. You’d be a lot happier.
