Orrin Hatch: Yeah, let’s get Vicki in Ted’s seat

Orrin Hatch (R-UT) is all for political dynasties. Rather than letting voters decide who will fill Ted Kennedy’s vacant Senate seat, or even letting the governor decide, we should just simply find another Kennedy to take his place. Because that’s all that we need to do, right? Make sure that we have someone with the last name Kennedy in the Senate at all times?

The fact that we don’t have royals here in the United States seemingly has escaped Hatch and the rest of the liberal elite. Who cares if that goes against everything our Founding Fathers intended? We must ensure that Camelot thrives, and nothing else matters. At this rate, we might as well rename the Senate the House of Lords. I mean, that’s why we overthrew the British empire here, right? So that we could simply establish our very own House of Lords? Oh, wait…

Thankfully, the majority of Americans don’t seem to be in favor of political dynasties like the idiot Orrin Hatch does (or like the entire Kennedy family does). Having a certain last name does not mean you automatically get to be a Senator, regardless of how many hissy fits the Kennedy family may throw.

    Could skip the whole election thing entirely. Just appoint a new kennedy when the last one kicks it. There are always a surplus of them.

    Will we ever be rid of this sleazy family?

    That’s what we need in the Senate. One more democratic vote. And, help for the Teddy-ites in circumventing the law (again) that Teddy insisted on passing in 2004 for politically calculated reasons.

    We should vote the Republicans like Hatch and McCain out of office for even ever helping the left, given the forward path of the destruction of our country by the Marxist left.

    And, by the way, why do women EVER vote for a Kennedy male? They objectify women in an unrelenting pattern, (let’s not forget Kennedy and Dodd and the NY restaurant incident, not to mention the obvious about Mary Jo, and her disgusting parents) and get away with it because people, especially women, let them. Disgusting.

    Kennedy and Hatch were friends for many years. Kennedy had many personal friends among the Republicans in the senate. Apparently he could deliver a sanctimonious stemwinder attacking someone on the right, then walk into the cloakroom and cheerfully greet his political opponents.

    Hatch ought to know better, but he does have a habit of talking before he thinks.

    Hatch a member of the “liberal elite?” He’s one of the most conservative Senators.

    I know. That’s why this is particularly frustrating.

    @JerryT and Cylar:

    Hatch, a conservative? You two need to talk to someone from Utah. The only ones (of those that actually pay attention) that believe he’s conservative are the Utah Democrats.

    This senator is a typical Republican from Utah–he claims to be a “conservative” Republican until he takes office. Then he’s just as bad as the rest of Washington.

    If he were voted out of office, the Senate would instantly become more conservative, almost regardless of the politics of whoever took his place.
