Get ready. Its coming. Just when you and your budget least expect it. Just when you and anyone in your family ends up facing some serious medical issues. Be prepared to have your insurance rates, copays, and deductibles skyrocket next year.
Amid rising drug and health care costs and roiling market dynamics, the spokesperson for the nation’s health insurers is predicting substantial increases next year in Obamacare premiums and related costs.
Without venturing a specific percentage increase, Marilyn Tavenner, the president and CEO of America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), said in an interview with Morning Consult that the culmination of market shifts and rising health care costs will force stark increases in health insurance rates in the coming year.
“I’ve been asked, what are the premiums going to look like?” she said. “I don’t know because it also varies by state, market, even within markets. But I think the overall trend is going to be higher than we saw previous years. That’s my big prediction.”
Let me tell you… seeing that bit of news doesn’t make me jump up and down for joy. I was yelling for Congress to vote AGAINST Obamacare from the very beginning because I was afraid this would be the result! And now it is. So what does this mean?
Think about it. An elderly couple with a spouse who is dealing with a serious heart condition combined with other on-going medical issues. Like it or not, Medicaid and Medicare are going to go up as well. For those who are living on limited incomes…you do the math. They will choose NOT to go to doctor because they can’t pay.
How about the families who have a spouse or child who ends up with an unexpected illness or disease. Should they be penalized for something that happened? NO. But they will be. And let’s not forget about the massive tax penalties assessed on those who choose not to carry Obamacare because they can’t afford to.
Of the 23 healthcare coops, 17 or more have already failed and left people floundering for insurance, doctors, and answers. United Healthcare is pulling out of smaller markets and repositioning itself. Other insurers, who’ve lost millions already, are gearing up to incur massive costs and see no other option than to tag their clients with a raise in insurance payments. The interactive graph contained in this article along with the graph linked here will shed more light on a very dismal picture.
We are looking at a projected raise of 17% at a minimum in 2017. If you pay $1250 a month now then your new insurance rate will be $1462.50. How is this sustainable? Its not. Granted I’ve utilized the suppositions based on this article. HOWEVER, the fact remains, there will be an increase in costs.
“What we’re likely to see is more of a market correction than any kind of death spiral,” Levitt said. “There are enough people enrolled at this point that the market is sustainable. The premiums were just too low.”
TOO LOW?? Really?? So the massive premium hikes each year for the last three years were just market corrections? Tell that to the families who no longer carry any insurance whatsoever because their budgets can’t sustain the punitive costs. No wonder so many are cancelling their insurance!
It appears #Obamacare is the substandard second rate insurance Obama warned us about! @BillHemmer pic.twitter.com/Wm2ZjqGN81 @AmericaNewsroom

Obamacare is the very opposite of CARE. The financial burden placed upon the patients and the medical field is building toward tsunami proportions. So much for “Affordable” insurance. Guy Benson is right. Tell Hillary Clinton and Obama Thanks. They put this tidal wave in motion and its only going to get worse.
I know, I know!!! All we have to do is give the stupid party majorities in the House and Senate, then…
What?
Never mind….
