Obama sets Congress up for a fall on Syria

This morning as I was getting ready to greet my day I was listening to the radio and was astounded to hear Charles Rangel (D, NY) utter something that I agreed with. Yep. That is right. I actually agreed with Charlie Rangel, who earned a “Dishonorable Mention” from Judicial Watch on their “10 Most Corrupt Politicians” list for 2011. The same Charlie Rangel who was tried for corruption during the run up to the 2010 election. Yes, that is how upside down this country has gotten; even the most corrupt politicians on the Hill understand that Obama is acting contrary to the Constitution by attempting to strike Syria without Congressional approval.

How is that you ask? Article II of the Constitution ‘s states:

“is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces. He or she has the power to call into service the state units of the National Guard, and in times of emergency may be given the power by Congress to manage national security or the economy.”

So that begs the question, does the situation in Syria rise to the level of an emergency in regards to the national security of the United States of America? I would argue that it does not, and frankly even a five year old child can see that quite clearly. Representative Nancy Pelosi’s grandson even knows that. Ms. Pelosi was recounting the conversation with her grandson at a press conference last week and she seemed to miss the significance of what the child was saying to her. Watch the video here and you be the judge-does the child seem to understand that American interests are not served by striking Syria as a “punishment” for attacking their own people with Serin gas? If a five year old child understands that, why can’t the President? Or any of the Congress members who are presently supporting this insanity?

Obama speaks at the G20 Summit in Moscow

Well what is really going on, in my humble opinion, is Obama is setting up the Congress for a fall on this issue. He seems to be placing the ultimate responsibility for this decision on the Congress. If they deny his wishes and vote no on striking Syria, then he can just point to Congress and say “It was the Republicans, they prevented me from doing what was necessary in Syria.” so that when, not if, but when Bashar al Assad commits some additional atrocity against his own people Obama can lay the blame for that at the GOP’s feet-just in time for the 2016 election.

How do we get out of this one? That, dear reader, is a fascinating question. And one that I am afraid I just do not have. In the meantime, I urge you to call your representatives and tell them what you think about this issue.

Sadly, no one is thinking here! Asleep as usual! The collateral damage here in the US from the use of a Democrat approved chemical weapon is about 1,500,00 millions human lives and counting.
RU-486, developed by the French, for use against innocent defenseless unborn human beings causes absolutely no Democrat outrage!
Nothing to see here folks, just keep your eyes focused on that Assad fellow and his (or somebody’s) horrid chemical attacks on those innocent folks over there.
Every thing is fine here and we have your back, or your pocket book, or something, not to worry.
