Perhaps this biting commentary regarding the failures of Obamacare served as a stinging wakeup call for the President. As the article points out, no matter how many in the media and government try to spin it, the collapse of the current healthcare market ISN’T growing pains by any stretch of the imagination.

The basic point these people are making is that yes, there are massive rate hikes, insurers are bailing, competition is withering and enrollment is lagging. But this is all to be expected as this new market settles in.

The Los Angeles Times — in an editorial after Aetna (AET) made its shocking announcement about dropping out of all but four ObamaCare markets — summed this view up by saying that ObamaCare critics were “confusing the growing pains of a new market with the death rattle of a failing one.”

The Times could not be more wrong.

The Times isn’t the only one who has it wrong. The Democrats who so forcefully shoved this putrid mess down our throats got it wrong as well. Who else STILL has it wrong? Obama.

He held an emergency meeting this week with all the major insurers, EXCEPT Aetna and UnitedHealth Group, asking them to stay the course.

“We know that this progress has not been without challenges,” Obama wrote this week to each insurer selling Obamacare plans. “Most new enterprises have growing pains and opportunities for improvement. The Marketplace, while strong, is no exception. Time and experience will help drive that improvement, as will constructive policy changes.”

Oh really?? Then why was the hearing on Wednesday so contentious? Why did some Democrats including Congresswoman DeGette (D-CO) express their skepticism and concern over skyrocketing insurance premiums?

Lets see, how many exchanges have failed? There are only 6 left out of the original 23. SIX. Let me tell you, that is definitely NOT an accomplishment. And no, Mr. President, you cannot and should not call that growing pains!!!

Perhaps the President should explain why increased insurance premiums are just minor growing pains. Iowa and Illinois will see premium increases by 30% and 47% respectively.  Perhaps he should explain why he still believes the government regulations, mandates and more taxes will fix the ever growing black hole called Obamacare? There are at least 6 states thus far that will lose one to two insurers PER COUNTY by the end of the year or soon thereafter. Wyoming and 6 other states will have exactly ONE insurer for the entire state. Americans have experienced healthcare cost increases all across the board since this act was passed. Who is to blame? Obama’s pet program called Obamacare. Affordable it absolutely is not.

Yet far to many Democrats are still waving the flag and saying HEY! Its all good – this is exactly what you need! Others are still on the bandwagon. And of course, Hillary is well… Hillary.

Mr. President, you made this mess. You’ve added to this mess. And now, to save your legacy you want to ride to the rescue? Thanks, but no thanks. You’ve done enough.
