Almost 1,000 gun owners gathered in New York State this weekend to start some fires. What were they burning? Their gun registration notices from the overbearing nanny state, which has dictated that all ‘assault weapons’ must be registered. So, you know, they can show up at the owners’ houses and take them.
E.J. Stokes, leader of the Warren County chapter of New York Revolution, said he was participating because he believes in the U.S. Constitution.
“Once the Second (Amendment) falls, the rest will go with it. [New York’s SAFE Act is] an unconstitutional law, done in the middle of the night with no input from the public,” he said.
While we’ve been watching Connecticut, it seems some folks in NY also understand what’s at stake, and are also refusing to register their firearms. If you live in the NY area, consider attending the big gun rights rally planned for April 1st at the state Capitol building in Albany.
“We are not extremists,” he said. “We are simply free men who love our country.”
Amen. Stand strong.
