Nancy Pelosi Falls Down And Breaks Hip, Will She Retire Or Cling To Her Gavel?

Nancy Pelosi falls down and breaks hip. Initial reports stated that Nancy Pelosi suffered “an injury” while in Luxembourg. The statement issued by her office raised all sorts of red flags.

“While traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation in Luxembourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation,” Krager said.

Pelosi is “currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals. She continues to work and regrets that she is unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL engagements to honor the courage of our servicemembers during one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history,” Krager said, adding that Pelosi “looks forward to returning home to the U.S. soon.”

I thought the wording of the statement was quite interesting. “An injury” leaves it open to a plethora of interpretations, as does the insistence that she is continuing to work even though unable to finish the rest of the planned CODEL events. And then, the real story came out several hours later.

Ms. Pelosi tripped going down marble stairs at the Grand Ducal Palace and took a hard fall, according to a person familiar with the incident who was not authorized to comment and spoke on condition of anonymity.

People close to Ms. Pelosi in California and Washington, D.C., speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak for her, said the former speaker fractured her hip when she fell. They said doctors were confident the damage could be repaired with a routine operation, but it was not yet clear whether that would be done in Luxembourg or in the United States.

So, the story isn’t just that Nancy falls down. It’s that she broke her hip and is essentially out of commission for an indefinite period of time. I’m not the only one who knows someone who broke a hip, and let me tell you, the pain quotient is high.

Which does not lend itself to an ability to concentrate and make sure that AOC doesn’t get that plumb committee assignment she’s been angling for.

Furthermore, the rehab on the hip after surgery takes time. How much time? It depends upon the scope of the fracture after tumbling down those marble steps.

As we all know, Nancy Pelosi is one very proud and exceptionally stubborn woman who loves wielding the gavel of power. So much so that, when she lost her gig as Speaker of the House, she rebranded herself as House Speaker Emirita, a completely made up title that conveyed that SHE still holds the gavel, and all the cards of power no matter her status.

There are valid questions and concerns about age, ability, and capability. We wrote of our concerns multiple times about Dianne Feinstein. John McCain was battling major brain cancer while in office. Mitch McConnell has been having seizures, and now Nancy Pelosi falls down and breaks her hip.

The scope of her injuries are unclear and her office is certainly not being forthcoming on any details.

Nancy Pelosi loves the power she’s been able to wield these last few decades. She also has a very deep animosity towards President Trump. Yet it’s also a well-known rumor/fact that she was one of the architects that pushed Joe Biden out of the campaign earlier this summer because he was ‘not fit’ to run.

What’s good for the goose is good for the gander…right?

It will be interesting to see if that particular chicken comes home to roost for Nancy.

Whatever the decision may be, I can tell you this – Nancy Pelosi will always manage to keep a grip on that gavel of hers.

“How drunk was she” being the first question.

My dad fell this summer, dislocating his shoulder and breaking his arm. It took him a week in the hospital to recover from the surgery, then another 3 weeks for in patient rehab to walk again. He’s 91.
Anesthesia for those over 80 is not routine. Hip rehab is going to be 6 monthsish. She’s got lifetime free healthcare, not to mention being rich enough to afford the best. A normal person would take this as a sign to retire.

Speaker Johnson requires in person voting.

Her hands will cling onto the gavel when rigor mortis sets in.

  • Mad Celt says:

More than likely the hip broke causing the fall.

Oh! No! Who will give the Pelosi family their stock market tips!
