Media Runs With Preferred Narrative In Texas Shooting

Texas has become the epicenter of a lot of national attention at the moment for all the wrong reasons, and the media is not helping matters.

My fellow Victory Girl Nina commented that Texas is under siege right now, and it truly does feel like it. There were two mass murders in Texas this weekend. Both were horrific. Both saw multiple innocents killed. But the media is only hyper-focusing on one of them, and that’s because the national media thinks it has found the way to shoehorn their favorite narrative into play.

The crime that the media picked to run with is the mass shooting at an outlet mall in Allen, Texas (a suburb of Dallas), where a man armed with their favorite weapon, an AR-15, opened fire and killed eight people, with others injured and some in critical condition. But within hours of this shooting, the media had decided that they were going to run with the narrative of “white supremacy.” Why?

Uh, “may have” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this tweet. So, what was the Washington Post’s rationale for throwing down a red flag on “white supremacy”?

Authorities have not released a motive, but a patch on his chest said “RWDS,” an acronym that stands for Right Wing Death Squad, according to people familiar with the investigation. The phrase is popular among right-wing extremists, neo-Nazis and white supremacists, they said, and while there is still a great deal of evidence to analyze, and authorities have not reached any conclusions yet, investigators are approaching the shooting as a possible hate crime.”

On the basis of ONE patch, the WaPo has decided that the white supremacy narrative was the correct one to go with. And once that happened, other outlets followed. Rolling Stone claims to have seen an FBI bulletin that calls the shooter both a “neo-Nazi” and an “incel.” Bloomberg parroted the same line as the WaPo. The narrative then hit a snag.

Um, yeah. The shooter was identified as Mauricio Garcia, age 33. Call me crazy, but I’m not aware of a lot of Hispanic white supremacists. His parents reportedly requested an interpreter when talking with police. But that didn’t stop the media. Most outlets simply added the shooter’s name and then continued on their merry way with the “white supremacy” angle. But even if everything the media is reporting is true, the shooter was not targeting anyone in particular. One of the first identified victims was a mall security guard named Christian LaCour.

Christian LaCour of Farmersville was on the job at the Allen Premium Outlets on Saturday afternoon when suspect Mauricio Garcia, 33, opened fire in the parking lot outside H&M, local Fox 4 reported.”

Sandra Montgomery, LaCour’s grandmother, mourned the loss of her “beautiful grandson” while confirming he was among the fatalities.”

The young man’s family became terrified when it couldn’t reach him after Saturday’s bloodbath.”

“Christian LaCour, was the security guard killed in the shooting at Allen Texas,” Montgomery wrote on Facebook. “He was such a beautiful soul, 22 years old with goals for his future.”

“I was so proud of him and so glad I got to see him two weeks ago.”

We just don’t have enough information, but the media is more than happy to run with thinly sourced assumptions, so long as they fit the preferred narrative. Remember, we haven’t even seen the Nashville shooter’s manifesto yet because the authorities keep blocking its release, and the mainstream media are deeply incurious about THAT shooter’s motivations. But one patch and some alleged social media posts, and the media are off to the races. But even if their first narrative fails, Joe Biden has already picked up on the second narrative.

And so far, Biden’s Twitter account has not said anything about the second mass killing in Texas, which happened on Sunday.

Authorities in Brownsville, Texas say they got a call around 8:30 am CT about a Land Rover that hit multiple people who were waiting at a bus stop across the street from the Bishop Enrique San Pedro Ozanam Center, a non-profit homeless shelter that has been helping house migrants. Authorities say it’s unclear whether the crash was intentional.”

Seven people were found dead at the scene and 10 were taken to hospitals, Martin Sandoval, a Brownsville police spokesperson, told CNN. Later Sunday, an eighth person died due to injuries from the crash, Sandoval told CNN.”

Sandoval said several migrants were among the dead and Border Patrol is working to confirm the identities of the victims. The FBI is also assisting with the investigation.”

Witnesses at the scene detained the driver until officers arrived, Sandoval said during a Sunday news conference. He said the driver of the vehicle received medical care and has been arrested on a reckless driving charge. “More than likely” there will be other charges added, Sandoval said.”

The driver, identified as a Hispanic man, is being “uncooperative” with authorities, according to Sandoval. He has given authorities multiple names, and police have had to fingerprint him in hopes of finding his identity – which takes more time, Sandoval said.”

So, even though Brownsville has media-approved victims, the method and the person are not narrative-approved. A non-white man using a car to kill people? Hey, the media barely cared in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and they certainly don’t plan to start now. If it is found that the victims were intentionally targeted, then the vehicle will become the killer, in the passive voiced media, not the driver behind the wheel.

Meanwhile, Brownsville will get even more illegal migrants flooding across the border, as the number of illegal border crossings are on the rise in anticipation of the end of Title 42 this week.

DHS Secretary Mayorkas claims that the Biden administration is “ready” for Title 42 to end. Does that look like readiness to you? I guess that depends on what your desired end result is.

But that’s okay, because the media will be happy to continue to cover for Joe Biden, and give preferential treatment to the stories that allow them to push their favorite narratives. And if that means that some victims are more equal than others, so be it. After all, the media exists for ratings and advertisements, not facts and justice.

Democrats as a whole despise the 2nd Amendment. And in other news, water is wet and the sun rose in the East.

    • Scott says:

      Two reasons for that Cameron…
      1. They know THEY can’t be trusted with such tools
      2. it’s one of the few things standing in the way of them ruling over us peasants..

        Here’s the amusing thought:

These cretins had the House, Senate and the Presidency. They could have created another magic ban or even demanded a repeal of the Second but they did nothing.

  • GWB says:

Once again, Congress must send me a bill banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
They must send him a bill defying the Constitution! Because throwing out the Constitution is the only way to “protect” the people!
Gee, where have I heard that sort of thing before? Every dictator who has taken over from a nominally democratic government in the last… 100 years? Including the dude what the left thinks is the only really bad dictator in the 20th century?

Oh, and “immediately” = “as soon as they’ve pumped me full of enough wakey juice to ensure I don’t wander off or start fondling young girls.”
