Media And Democrat Ghouls Blame Trump For Deaths In Texas Flash Floods

The flash floods in Texas are President Trump’s fault according to the soulless ghouls in the Democrat party and the media. They have literally been stomping all over horrific news of children missing and presumed dead since news of the floods broke on July 4.

They have been claiming, without evidence mind you, that the DOGE cuts to the National Weather Service (NWS) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are to blame for this unfolding tragedy. They would have us all believe that there were no warnings about flash floods. They would have us believe that, because of cuts, the warnings that were sent didn’t make it to the right people.

What they are IGNORING is that there WERE warnings issued.

Yet, as with Hurricane Helene, no one in the weather business could predict that a major storm would literally park itself over Kerrville, Texas and surrounding areas. No one could predict that forecasts of approximately 8″ of rain would instead be well over 10″ of rain – and in some cases up to 20″ in less than twelve hours.

Clusters of thunderstorms formed repeatedly over the same area of central Texas on Friday, moving slowly and delivering torrential rain that triggered deadly flash flooding. Some locations saw a month’s worth of rain in only a few hours.

“It’s the prolonged excessive rainfall over one area that makes them so dangerous,” said Emily Heller, a meteorologist with the Austin-San Antonio National Weather Service office.

All of that water needed someplace to go, no matter what or who is in its path. The Guadalupe River in the Kerr County rose TWENTY SIX FEET in less than two hours.

No one, and I mean NO ONE could’ve predicted that.

That doesn’t matter to the Democrat and media ghouls. They’ve gleefully taken to social media and the airwaves to proclaim that none of this would’ve happened if it weren’t for Trump. Juliette Kayyem of CNN and The Atlantic has been all over this, and when called out by Matt Van Swol, who lived through Hurricane Helene and has been documenting the recovery efforts for nearly a year now, decided to lecture him.

Let me make another point here. Those cuts the ghouls are blatting about? Haven’t happened yet. They take place, if they do, starting in October. Furthermore, the NWS offices dealing with the Texas region were staffed up. In fact, they’ve had EXTRA staff on board since the first of July.

Yet the NY Times found all the people who want to do nothing but point fingers of blame at everyone else.

The amount of rain that fell Friday morning was hard for the Weather Service to anticipate, with reports in some areas of 15 inches over just a few hours, according to Louis W. Uccellini, who was director of the National Weather Service from 2013 until 2022.

“It’s pretty hard to forecast for these kinds of rainfall rates,” Dr. Uccellini said. He said that climate change was making extreme rainfall events more frequent and severe, and that more research was needed so that the Weather Service could better forecast those events.

They couldn’t accurately predict the 1987 flood in the same area. Or how about the Big Thompson flood in 1976 in CO? Hurricane Harvey in 2017?

Out of 4,000 staff across the country, we are supposed to think that the 600 who are or have left were all in the Texas region? I don’t think so.

The Democrat and media ghouls just refuse to take a step back from their goal of blaming Trump for everything. They’ll step all over grieving families and the bodies of children to do so.

CNN aired that heart-wrenching report and then Dana Bash stomped all over his pain.

Yes indeed. Hurricane Helene devastated a huge swath of the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee. Not one single Democrat or any media ghoul blamed the Biden Administration for anything the NWS, NOAA, or FEMA did or didn’t do. Not a single one.

At the time of this writing, 59 people have died from this flood. Men, women, and children are still missing.

Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha says that 11 campers and a camp counselor are still missing after powerful floods inundated central Texas.

Dozens of people have been killed since raging floodwaters slammed a portion of central Texas starting Friday.

The death toll from flash floods rose to nearly 70 on Sunday after searchers found more more bodies in the hardest-hit Kerr County. The victims include children who were camping along the Guadalupe River banks.

Rather than point people to ways to help, or even celebrate the fact that over 800 people have been rescued thus far, the ghouls in the media and Democrat party are spending all their time blaming the Trump Administration.

As the search for the missing continues, Texas is getting soaked with more rain.

As Avery points out in his subsequent post, the ground is so soaked that all the rain will just turn into more floods. And the ghouls will start bleating about climate change in 3, 2, 1… They don’t want you to know that there’ve been other equally destructive flash floods in Texas’ history.

They’ll stomp all over people’s pain in order to score political points. But it’s MAGA who is soulless and evil?  I. Don’t. Think. So.

Pray for the search and rescue teams. Pray for the families who’ve lost loved ones. And pray that those still missing will be found, hopefully alive.

There’s an old saying..”If you give them enough rope….”
Hard questions will be asked and the answers will be hard to swallow but one thing is for sure…Trump had absolutely nothing to do with the flood….
Back in the days of the Cold War in the ’50s and ’60s, there was a siren alert system nationwide( Where I lived, It would go off every day at noon as a test)…..Seems like we need to revisit the concept……

  • CDC says:

Communities have moved to phone apps for warnings, there was a lot of evacuation before first rain drop fell and the NWS issued an alert ahead of storm then warnings in real time.

( Posted at Ann Althouse earlier today ) ~ It would be nice if we were to take the politics out of the discussion of this tragic disaster which has killed a lot of folk including innocent young girls which is always terrible. I don’t pretend to know any more about this event than the rest of you however I have lived down here in the Hill Country for over a decade and I have seen some bad weather events. Not too many years ago, 2013 our local town Boerne was in the news with cars floating down the river with people trying to get out, some did, some did not.

Earlier today I drove seven miles North of our house to the Guadalupe and saw a lot of fresh washed down river trees in the river. There were some people working along the banks and our local Kendall, County Sheriff’s office put out a notice on line, to give the rescue workers room to work with their dogs and not be distracted by well meaning civilians wanting to help. There was a fair amount of activity where I was just South of Sisterdale and about 20 miles east of Center Point and helicopters were in the area. All of our local emergency personnel in the area are working as many hours as possible along with National Guard and Military from bases and posts near by.

Were I in charge of the world, my request would be for folks to slow down and let those who are involved do their best in a terrible situation. Unless you can help, which might be by donations, take some time to mourn those who lost their lives and respect their families as they go through their grief.

Let’s please stop playing politics with half-assed information and move on while our area is under one more flood warning tonight.

    Excellent writeup!

I have lived in a couple of places along the Gulf Coast, including Texas. The notion that the NWS could accurately
predict that sort of weather is silly. Suffice it to say that when they predicted 8 inches of rain people should have started looking for higher ground.

What the NWS does is track the weather and extrapolate current trends into the future using powerful computer programs. With satellite data and numerous weather stations they can do that lots better than they did in the past, but a weather prediction is still just a statistical guess. The climate change thing is just a bad joke.

I’m amazed that Democrats haven’t accused Trump of making night so dark!
