McCain: Obama would lose a war to win a political campaign

Good stuff:

This is what McCain needs to keep doing. He needs to stop being timid and be willing to hammer Obama on his every deficiency. If he can do that, if he can bring every skeleton in the closet to light, poke holes in every policy plan, showcase his panderingand flip-flops, and stress his lack of experience, then he won’t have a problem winning. He’s gotta be willing to fight for it, though. And he’s going to have to say stuff like this all the time. He has to be unafraid to take Obama on. Yes, the media will hate him for it. Yes, liberals will be outraged. But he’s no longer the media darling. They don’t love him anymore; he’s no longer their adorable maverick. They have a new savior to worship. And if he wants to win, he needs to be more active. He needs to be more visible. And he needs to be pointing things like this out on a daily basis. Hammer Obama relentlessly and don’t give up. Americans won’t be finding out any negatives about Obama between now and November, so McCain needs to force the issues into the spotlight. If not, he’ll never be able to win.

  • Just like your opinion, mine will be invalidated instantly by anyone seriously considering a vote for the Obamameister. Nevertheless, Obama has a very serious weakness here and it can be exploited by methods even simpler than by looking for openings through which to hammer him like this. McCain hit on it toward the end.

The weakness is this: If you take the “Hurry up and surrender before we win” route on any national issue…especially the War on Terror…it is a blight on any other effort in which you want to engage, cosmetically or otherwise. Adios, “YES WE CAN” catchphrase.

What do you mean we can achieve zero-carbon energy within ten years? You don’t think we can win the War on Terror.

What do you mean we can fix global warming and balance the budget? You don’t think we can win the War on Terror. What do you mean we can end poverty, if you don’t think we can win the War on Terror.

I think that’s a sure route to victory for McCain, or anybody else who wants to beat Obama. A real leader doesn’t get to pick and choose the “Yes We Can” stuff; he doesn’t get to offer a plan that includes defeat. Yeah there are some democrats who are just eatin’ up the “get out no matter what” stuff but it seems to me that’s a hardcore extremist MoveOn fringe. The Main Street USA folks who are open to voting democrat, I think they want to see a hasty end as well, but first and foremost they want to see a victory.

Why else would that adverb “RESPONSIBLY” keep getting tossed in to the democrat sound bites? Ever notice that…anytime they talk about leaving Iraq or getting out of Iraq, they talk about doing it responsibly. They’ve learned from their focus groups there is a slumbering giant of blue-dog democrats that has identified that as a key issue. It all comes down to, Republican or democrat, we aren’t going to elect a quitter. Patton was right. Dirty li’l secret.

After someone in bush’s own staff accusing bush of manufacturing the war in Iraq, and now a new book about a forged letter from the cia. After so much time and billions of dollars spent, after so many soilders killed or crippled. After so much scheming to get us into this illegal war, now obama wants to cut and run…how rude is that?
