After not even a full week in office, New York City Mayor,Zohran Mamdani is jacking up subway fares to $3 dollars per ride and going after “greedy landlords“.
It’s all part of his vision of socialist utopia in the throbbing metropolis. So much for “free” transportation. Oh, yes. That’s right. Mamdani promised that the bus system would be completely free. (Wink, wink. Gotta pay for that somehow.) I mean, you all really didn’t expect a free bus system would come from just taxing the rich people, did you, New Yorkers? (Don’t answer that. We all know those of you who voted for this train wreck all are THAT dumb.)
Alas, it is all part of the plan. Mamdani has tapped Cea Weaver, as his new director of the city Office to Protect Tenants. We wrote about Cea here and she is a piece of work. Cea, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, urged for the “seizure of private property”. She called property ownership a weapon of “white supremacy”.
Mamdani also signed an executive order and is organizing “Rental Ripoff” hearings across the five boroughs within the first 100 days of his time as mayor.
We’ll be holding Rental Ripoff hearings in every borough of the city.
We’ll be sharing tools to protect tenants from unscrupulous practices and hearing your experiences with abusive landlords.
More details to come.”– Zohran Mamdani, X
Oh, yay. Stay tuned. Here we go, folks. Unscrupulous practices of landlords. Never mind how long it actually takes and how hard it is for a landlord to evict a tenant (squatter) who is NOT paying his or her (or they or them’s) rent in the city. And forget getting law enforcement involved in this. Cea “White Landlords Are Evil” Weaver is not very keen on NYPD and cops in general.
In Queens, New York, squatters can use two bounced checks to live rent-free in a landlord’s house for half a year. The landlord not only has to pay the mortgage, property taxes, and insurance, but also spend money hiring lawyers to go through lengthy legal procedures just to…

“The police are just people the state sanctions to murder w[ith] immunity”, said Ms. Weaver, once upon a time, before she deleted her Twitter account.

The executive order directs HPD, the Department of Buildings, the Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants to include Ms. Whitey Weaver, and the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection to hold the hearings in coordination with the new Office of Mass Engagement.
Too many New Yorkers have been forced to pay more for less — living in unsafe, unconscionable, and unaffordable housing. Under my administration, that ends. Today’s executive order is the first step towards giving New Yorkers a voice in addressing the housing crisis that is pricing them out of our city.”-Zohran Mamdani
So, the question is, will these “Rental Rip Off” hearings seize property from landlords? If so, isn’t that a crime? In the meantime, crimes continue to occur in the city by actual criminals-some here legally, some here illegally. Crimes also continue to happen on New York City subways and now, commuters have to pay extra for the experience. New Yorkers are, yet again, forced to pay more for less.
Cea Weaver admitted in the past that her parents took out-get this-a home equity loan to put her through college so she could be a progressive, SJW, law-enforcement-hating, Socialist “organizer” (they must be so very proud). Now, if that is not glow-in-the-dark white privilege, then I do not know what is. This also indicates that her family owns property. Isn’t that the root of all evil? White people who own things? I say, let’s start with THEM first. And not just her family. Anyone who claims to be a “Democratic Socialist” who owns some form of property. They can give up their humble, hard-earned abode for the “greater good”.
Mamdani and Weaver’s “Rental Rip Off” hearings go to show New Yorkers how much they don’t know about the New York housing market. There is no mention of why else rental rates are sky-high in New York. Let’s talk about rent control, zoning requirements and high property taxes, for starters. Never mind the “greedy landlords” who are, of course, only white people who are taking advantage of other (non-white) New Yorkers. Let’s add in all of the red tape one has to go through to get a non-rent-paying individual evicted and the government- all of this made New York City the mess that it is with sky-high housing. And, it’s about to get worse.
Translation: More hearings, more hashtags, and absolutely no new housing. If you wanted to stop rental ripoffs, you’d stop sabotaging landlords and strangling new development.

In less than a week, this is the Mamdani Mayor New Yorkers were waiting for with bated breath. If you are a supporter of “rugged individualism”, you might also, by virtue, be a “greedy, white landlord”. If this is any indication of how things are going to shake out in this city, I say, get to Port Authority and get on that first FREE BUS out of there. Don’t walk. Run. Run like hell. Some already have.
Just another Mamdani Monday.

Coming up next: Mass incarceration of landlords and forced relocation to Happy Camps.
Any landlords that had the ability to do so and was paying attention already jumped ship after the election.. the writing was on the wal..
Pain for everyone, Zohran Mamdani, ‘the liberator of pain’.
The government big enough to give you everything is also big enough to take everything. Good luck, NYC. This is the path you’ve chosen.
