Mamdani is so embedded in his Democrat Socialist Communist endeavors that the very definition of working class is beyond him. He literally struggled to define that term.

He’s not the only one. A significant number of his fellow DSA idiots are attempting to redefine what working class means. 

The Democratic Socialists of America are trying to redefine what it means to be a working-class voter in New York City.

To the DSA, restaurant workers, doctors and techies should see themselves as in the same boat. Compared to billionaires, they’re all relatively poor.

“The definition of working class really includes anyone who’s dependent on their own work and their own labor for their livelihood and for their income,” said Grace Mausser, who co-chairs the DSA’s New York City chapter.

There it is. The anyone who they define as rich is RICH and needs to be taxed more. Anyone who doesn’t meet their arbitrary definition of who is classified as rich is now classified, according to him, as the… working class. 

Again, this is something that Mamdani seems to have great difficulty in defining. 

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani struggled to answer who he considers to be part of the “working class” during a New York Times interview on Saturday.

New York Times journalist Lulu Garcia-Navarro asked Mamdani whether he and the organization he’s a part of, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), have a definition for the working class that they claim to fight on behalf of in elections.

“I think if you have to work to pay your bills, I think that that is one definition of being a part of the working class,” Mamdani said.

My coffee nearly went down the wrong pipe at that one.  There’s two parts to his last comment. First, if you don’t have to work to pay your bills, what “class” does that person fall into? Homeless? Wealthy? Politician? Secondly, I’ve a feeling that Mamdani has never had to adhere to a budget in his life. Therefore the struggle to ensure one has enough funds left over after paying your mortgage/rent, utilities, phone, groceries, clothing, medical insurance, and other items is beyond his ability to understand. 

Who exactly fits into the working class?

Mamdani had quite the struggle session while trying to answer that.

So someone making $250,000 a year is working class? I haven’t asked myself where it starts and stops. What I would say is those who are working to try and afford the basic dignities of life and aren’t able to do so, I think that that is also working class. Oftentimes we’re asked how we divide this country. I think there’s only one majority in this country — it’s the working class.

That just doesn’t ring true to me. What do you think?

It just seems a very easy answer to what is a complicated question. Because politically, if you’re saying everyone is the working class, or anyone that gets a salary is the working class, yes, that opens up your tent. But practically speaking, we are divided by income — and especially if you want to tax people, where you draw those lines matter. I’ve drawn it at about a million dollars a year.

So anyone under a million dollars a year in income is working class? [Laughs] That’s not what I’m saying. I’m just saying, in terms of fiscal policy, I think a lot of our politics has been a debate over who you leave out. And I’m more interested in debates of how you bring more in. But yes, I do want to raise taxes on people who make more than a million a year.

He’s painting everyone and everything with a broad brush, and claiming all New York City taxpayers, except the millionaires and billionaires are the “working class.”

He’s trying to center his definition around how much one makes. Which, according to him means that anyone making less than $1 million a year is now considered the “working class.” And he then pivots back, multiple times,  to his plan to tax and punish the wealthy. 

The working class has traditionally been defined as one who may or may not have a college degree and works in the trades. The working class is our plumbers, electricians, painters, oil workers, construction crews, janitors, auto workers, landscapers, the list goes on. 

And yet, Mamdani refuses to define who fits into the working class without making it solely about money.

Then again, Mamdani is a Communist, and that’s how they roll. You are defined by how much you do or don’t make. And depending upon which category you fit into, Mamdani will decide if you are his friend or his enemy.
