Mahmoud Khalil: “Absurd” To Ask If I Support Hamas

Support Hamas? What an “absurd” question! Mahmoud Khalil definitely knows the PR tap dance. He spins quite well, as evidenced by his interview with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown on CNN yesterday.

As we’ve written repeatedly, Khalil is a Palestinian who came here to Columbia University and has overstayed his welcome on a multitude of levels. Most egregiously by organizing multiple antisemitic protests on Columbia’s campus and pushing for Israel’s demise. He is currently facing deportation, yet the activist judges involved let him go free to wander New York and Washington D.C. and landing quite a number of interviews in the bargain.

However, ahead of his release in June, federal Judge Michael Farbiarz said he had given the administration lawyers ample time to support the public statements made against Khalil. He said they failed to do so.

“The petitioner’s career and reputation are being damaged and his speech is being chilled,” Farbiarz wrote at the time. “This adds up to irreparable harm.”

I’d like the judge to point directly to that place in our Constitution that gives full free speech rights to people who are NOT American citizens. Hint: it’s not there.

This from not long ago is instructive given yesterday’s interview with CNN.

Given that, I’d say CNN committing a journalism and asking Khalil that “absurd” question about supporting Hamas is highly relevant.

Mahmoud Khalil refused to condemn Hamas on Tuesday and instead lashed out at CNN for asking him to, calling that line of questioning “disingenuous and absurd.”

“Just to be clear here, do you specifically condemn Hamas, a designated terrorist organization in the United States, not just for their action on Oct. 7?” CNN’s Pamela Brown asked Khalil.

“I condemn the killing of all civilians. Full stop. I don’t want to get into it,” Khalil told the Situation Room cohost. When Brown asked again, Khalil said, “I hate this selective outrage of condemnation, because this wouldn’t lead to a constructive conversation.”

“To me, it‘s always, as I said, disingenuous and absurd to ask such questions when literally 62,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel,” he continued. “And that‘s why I wouldn‘t really engage much into such questions on condemnation or not. Because selective condemnation wouldn‘t get us anywhere. It’s just like hypocrite [sic] to be honest.”

That is quite the word smithing spin isn’t it?? Especially when it’s combined with a neat little pivot to the favorite talking point from Gaza and the U.N. about how many Palestinians have been killed by Israel. Which we all know is highly inflated, but they all run with it anyway.

DHS is having none of his spin.

The rest reads:

It is a privilege to be granted a visa or green card to live and study in the United States of America. The Trump Administration acted well within its statutory and constitutional authority to detain Khalil, as it does with any alien who advocates for violence, glorifies and supports terrorists, harasses Jews, and damages property.

As I pointed out above, Khalil is NOT an American citizen. And breaking the rules of having a visa or green card does and should have one sent home.

Meanwhile, Khalil is enjoying the largess of friendly media and super friendly Democrat politicians right now.

Considering Bernie has yet to meet or even TALK to any of the freed hostages or the families of hostages, and is an avowed socialist, his meeting with Khalil is on brand.

Khalil insisted yesterday that it is “disingenuous and absurd” to ask whether he supports Hamas or not. Given his rhetoric over the last couple of years and his promotion/activism of the antisemitic protests on Columbia’s campus; I’d say he’s a full on supporter of Hamas.

If it walks like a duck…

Yeah, he’s a gentle soul alright. One that has made it abundantly clear that he hates Israel with an overwhelming passion. Yet the liberal progressives flock to him like brain-dead moths to the flame.

AOC can continue her fangirling over Khalil. But honey, he’s not going to date you. Ever.

He’s just “simply protesting the war.” Uh huh…pull the other leg.

It isn’t “absurd” to ask Mahmoud Khalil about his ties to Hamas. What IS absurd is letting him stay in this country.
