Let’s start with a hypothetical. Let’s say there was an election. Let’s say the candidates campaigned hard, or not, and then one of them was duly elected. Let’s say that when that candidate was elected, everyone understood that elections have consequences. And that meant that the winner would carry out his or her campaign promises – that in fact, that’s why that candidate was elected – as it was understood by the people who elected him or her.

Now let’s say that the loser candidate doesn’t go away, and neither does their campaign. They keep campaigning and harassing the electorate, and people on their side keep going out and conducting business normally reserved for official representatives of the state. They refuse to acknowledge that the power to govern is not theirs, but they keep messing around in governance anyway. They go so far as to contact foreign leaders and lobby for certain policies – policies that are in direct opposition to the policies of the elected leader.

Would you say that this is problem? What if, when Barack Obama was elected president, George W. Bush kept hanging around D.C. and kept calling the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, or dropping in on the Israeli Prime Minister – and not just for tea or a round of golf – but to discuss and plot and strategize about foreign policy? Would that be, at a minimum, inappropriate, and at the extreme, near treasonous?

Well that’s what good old hound dog, former Secretary of State John Kerry has been doing with regard to the Iran deal. This hang dog, can’t let go of power, Viet Nam war medal tossing, troop undermining, idiot kiteboarding, falling down bike riding, government grifting fool is up to. General Mike Flynn made an introductory let’s-get-to-know-each-other call to the Russian Ambassador as he was making his way into office, but no! He’s the one who is threatened with Logan Act violations – a law that has never been used to prosecute anyone. No, he’s the one forced into a plea deal and humiliated before the world on charges that weren’t even charges until Kerry’s doppelgänger Robert Mueller decided to take a second look at how to become a thorn in Trump’s side.

It is nearly inconceivable that this could be happening, but John Kerry is out there trying to save the Iran deal, at the same time the Trump administration is properly trying to turn the screws on Iran.

John Kerry’s bid to save one of his most significant accomplishments as secretary of state took him to New York on a Sunday afternoon two weeks ago, where, more than a year after he left office, he engaged in some unusual shadow diplomacy with a top-ranking Iranian official.

He sat down at the United Nations with Foreign Minister Javad Zarif to discuss ways of preserving the pact limiting Iran’s nuclear weapons program. It was the second time in about two months that the two had met to strategize over salvaging a deal they spent years negotiating during the Obama administration, according to a person briefed on the meetings.

John Kerry, you need to go to bed. America has spoken and it said buh-bye. Get your ketchup laden paws out of the official affairs of the US government and go pay the taxes on your yacht. Stop interfering in official state business. If Trump wanted you around, you’d know it. And for goodness sake, Jeff Sessions, get off your rear and do something Justice-y for a change. Slap a Logan Act charge on that condiment king and banish him to his Nantucket solitude never to be seen or heard from again.

This is truly the twilight zone.

By the way, has anyone ever seen Mueller and Kerry together in the same room? Hmmmm….
