FBI Director Kash Patel is in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee for possibly two days of grilling by people who should only be sent out in public with keeper staff. They should only be allowed to speak into a microphone using preapproved remarks and with their keeper next to them. Harsh, no. Not when you consider that the Judiciary Committee boasts Adam Schiff, Mazie Hirono and the clown of the hearing this morning, Senator Dick Durbin.

I noticed this today that Jacqui Heinrich (I know) of Fox News called Patel the “embattled FBI Director”. She says the knives are out for Patel and that he will be jettisoned soon. I don’t know why Republicans talk to people like that particular “reporter”. We have bigger partisan hacks to deal with and shouldn’t setting fires inside out tent.

The Judiciary Committee started off with the typical partisan speechifying. Gah!

The good news is that nasty Dick Turban (Thank you, Rush Limbaugh) is not running for reelection. That bad news is that we have Durbin through the end of 2026. Harrumph. Kash Patel seems equal to the ugly Durbin always spews. From CBS News:

FBI Director Kash Patel is appearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday morning, where he is facing tough questions about his leadership of the bureau, including the ouster of top officials and agents and his handling of the investigation into the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Patel has come under fire for his social media posts in the aftermath of Kirk’s killing last week, when Patel prematurely said the “subject” of the shooting was in custody.
The director confirmed that the bureau is investigating a group chat on the platform Discord that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, was allegedly involved in. CBS News reported Monday that Robinson appeared to confess to the killing in the chat before he was taken into custody.
Patel touted the FBI’s role in fighting crime and defended his personnel moves, saying they have been “based on merit and qualification.” Democrats contested that assertion, accusing Patel of targeting agents and officials because of their involvement in investigations into President Trump.
The FBI director also fielded questions about the Justice Department’s handling of files related to Jeffrey Epstein. He said nothing in the department’s files indicates that others were involved in Epstein’s trafficking of minors.

I know that there was a fiery exchange with Cory Booker and an even more fiery one with shifty Adam Schiff, but Dick Durbin should know better than to go after Kash Patel like this. Having watched Christopher Wray, Durbin actually said that Patel was the most partisan and unqualified FBI Director. Durbin even admired Forner Director Christopher Wray.

Arguably the most partisan. And Director Wray was a lifelong Republican. That is beyond funny. If Wray is/was a Republican, he way a RINO.

Thank goodness that people like Director Patel are made of sterner stuff than your average Republican. Not a hack but a patriot.
